Belts ---which way to buckle?

Is there a convention as to which way to thread and buckle a belt for women ? In the male mode , I always start on my left and end on the right so that the belt end points left. Since women's tops button differently, I am wondering if women's belt are normally worn differently.

Drucilla, The "book says that women wear their belts the opposite of what you said. Male starts threading on left and the female on right, but look around you and observe gg's with belts. Some do it one way and some do it the other.

I have two wide leather belts that I got at The Limited about three years ago. I tried to put them on with the belt end pointing right (female style), and it didn't work. The belt was shaped to fit the hips with the belt end pointing left. Go figure.:D
