OMG reminds me of when I was 19...I was trying to hit on a chic at a party with a group I didn't usually hang out with and she said 'I'm a 'tranny' hon'...I was pretty shy and completely clueless...I thought 'you're a transmission, ummm...OK!? 😕 ' walked away and didn't clue in until the next day...true story 😐

I guess my answer to what T stands for...transmission...why I'm here...bad Google search for tips on rebuilding a '89 Toyota Corolla automatic transmission 😂

I'm MUCH more enlightened of late BTW! ☺

I am here because I meet interesting people.

Also people don't usually laugh at me when I tell them I like wearing dresses, bras, corsets, wigs and lipstick........ :-)

the wikipedia version seems to exclude the C from the T, unless I misread it.
why am i here, on this forum? because i was confused, why was i wanting to wear women's clothes, why was i so happy in them compared to in male clothes, i was seeking understanding, and people with whom i could talk about it - and unless someone has been there, they don't understand, whether its post-viral fatigue, a profession, a sport, or dressing or TS. Until we put those shoes on we just don't understand the situation and perceptions. It's all about those red shoes :-)

hi pam,
ive copied it from the link, reading other definitions is why i wanted to post....its not a bad thing to be....

Transgender people experience a mismatch between their gender identity (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_identity) or gender expression and their assigned sex (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_assignment).[1] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-1)[2] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-glaad.org-2)[3] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-usi-3) Transgender is also an umbrella term (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbrella_term) because, in addition to including trans men (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans_men) and trans women (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans_women) whose binary gender (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_gender) identity is the opposite of their assigned sex (and who are sometimes specifically termed transsexual (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transsexual) if they desire medical assistance to transition (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transitioning_%28transgender%29)), it may include genderqueer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genderqueer) people (whose identities are not exclusively masculine or feminine, but may, for example, be bigender (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigender), pangender (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangender) or agender (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agender)).[2] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-glaad.org-2)[4] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-Bilodeau-4)[5] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-Layton-5) Other definitions include third-gender (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third-gender) people as transgender or conceptualize transgender people as a third gender,[6] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-Stryker3G-6)[7] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-Chrisler-7) and infrequently the term is defined very broadly to include cross-dressers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-dresser).[8] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender#cite_note-ReisnerEtAl-8)

Many transgender people experience a period of identity development that includes gaining better understanding their self-image, self-reflection, and self-expression. The degree to which individuals feel genuine, authentic, and comfortable within their external appearance and accept their genuine identity is referred to as transgender congruence.
