Hi, a friend of mine is a beautiful CD who is interested in modeling. I love her looks and believe a career in modeling a possibility, even though she's going to be met with more discrimination than you can shake a stick at. Maybe 100 years from now, the picture will change and they'll be more than happy to hire her. That's why I'm wondering how can she get started now, in a non porno modeling job? Is there a niche market she can break into?

One of my Facebook friends is a model. She went through local agencies and photographers. She worked her ass off too get where she is. And she looks amazing btw. She just transitioned.

Now depending on where your friend is at I have found certain women's clothing stores sometimes look for someone for the day to model clothes.3 or 4 outfits and then they offer you a discount on the items you modeled. I know this to be true to one shop cause me and my wife did it. It was a plus size women's store. It was great. They wanted us again but our schedules weren't right. It'a thought for you. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Good luck.

Charlie, from this site (Haven't seen her in awhile) is a gorgeous model. She did some wedding stuff, some fetish stuff; she's amazing looking!

Thanks Kittie :) That sounds like somewhere to begin. Now I wonder which stores would give her an opportunity? She's not a plus size either, nor is she Twiggy.

Some of the businesses that market to crossdressers and transgender folks seem to pride themselves on pointing out that their models are from the community.

Modeling is a very difficult career to break into, remain successful, and last for a period of time, regardless of seeking a crossdressing niche.

I can't offer any detailed advice but for inspiration look at Andreja Pejic?

Your friend might have to move, but so does anyone else who wants to break into modeling. Or acting for that matter ... people move to NYC or LA if they want to make it big. Is she in North America? If not, I'm sure there are trans modelling agencies in other parts of the world. The first link above is headquartered in Thailand.

The first thing she'll need is an agent. Wish her luck for us!
