Hi Girls,
What to do about checking in at the hotel front desk? Should I call ahead and ask their policy on transgenderdism?

I have been trying to get out shopping all day enfemme for days now. Snow storms, work schedules and other things keep getting in my way. Today I thought I was a 100% go. At 7:30 a.m. this morning our contractor / friend decided he would come to do some demolition work today per my wifes request. He's done the demo, now wants to finish and start other projects here. I'm screwed. Cancelled again! I am so sad, I could cry.

So, now I am thinking tomorrow of shopping locally enfemme and later driving enfemme to Atlantic City. Check in, freshen up, change outfits and hit the casino floors.

Quick help and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

It can't hurt and just might save some uneccessary grief.

I use to be a "hotel queen", and I never had any trouble, and I used motels all over the country. As long as you are not doing anything illegal, they could care less, believe me.

Not sure what you meant by hotel queen? But combine that with doing something illegal and that conjures up... well, you know. LOL.
Anyway, I think you mean you frequented hotels enfemme w/o any probs. Thanks for your reply.

Just don't rush it to the point that you are messing up or get all frustrated and not be totally prepared for your outing. =)

LOL! Yes, that is what I meant, I used to go to hotels all the time before I started dressing fulltime. Have fun!

Most hotels are fine with it---if you are shy about going through the lobby dressed go to a motel where the rooms each have an individual outside door--that way you will have more privacy---if you go to a hotel in Maine, it is illegal for them to discrimnate against us. Outside the pine tree state, I'm sure that a phone call in advance would clear things up---also I seem to remember some websites which list those businesses friendly to TGs

Sophia I just hope you have a wonderful time. Remember that those free drinks can go to a girls head very quickly. Don't want you doing anything unlady like.

I go to hotels when I travel and it can be dressed any way I feel like. If I am en-femme, there sometimes is a problem when I give them my boy credit card or need to show ID. However, I have never been refused.

I always go to a hotel that I am checking out to possibly hold a conference there, dressed as Kristine. Sometimes the shock value is worth the price of admission, but when they find out I want to spend tens of thousands of dollars at their property, they get over it real fast.

Do you really think they have a specific policy regarding this?
I highly doubt it...

So sad you could cry? A bit much on the drama? Sounds to me like you're getting *way* too wound up about this. It isn't brain surgery... Relax... ;)

Sophia,

Sorry to hear of your bad luck.....snow storms etc.

I would think that you should have no problem with the hotels as like someone said, unless your doing something illegal you are spending money with them and you are the customer i think everything will be okay.

Please don't shead any tears and i hope what ever you do you enjoy yourself

Kathryn,
I don't know if they have a policy. That's why I'm throwing it out there. Isn't it correct to call ahead to a women's clothing store or visit with the manager
if you intend to try clothing on enfemme? Do the Hotel/Casinos frown upon men dressed as women for security reasons. Have you seen the security cameras in these places?
As far as too much drama. I probably am getting too wound up in this. I have been out and plan to more and more. I don't think you have because of your situation. If you were to ever get out you might realize how strong the desire to get out again becomes. Until then, maybe you shouldn't comment negatively on something which you know not.

Not brain surgery, more like brain urgency.

Frankie says "relax";)

yeah, whatever...
I still say...it sounds like you're making *way* too big of a deal out of this... ;)

We live in Las Vegas and have been out to several of the casinos while dressed. We have never had a problem. You might just check into the motel as a male, and then get dressed and do whatever you please. I have checked in, in drab and checked out enfem. Never had any problems.
Good luck, have fun, and be you...

I have used the same motel three times already. It has an inside entrance and lobby area. The first time I warned the girl at the desk that I would be coming out in costume -- skirt and heels, etc. When I did get back to the lobby, she said, "You look great." She was there the next time at Halloween and just smiled when I checked in. (There was someone else with her at the desk) This past week I paid in advance to her, but she wasn't there the day I came in. Nobody said anything as I walked through the small lobby area and out the front door.

I go to hotels and motels all the time. I check in in drab, get dressed and just go and have fun. Enjoy yourself and don't worry about the hotel. They LOVE your money!

I've stayed at the Sands and the Tropicana in AC and checked in, in girl mode with no problems. Have gone to many other motels, with and without reservations, with no problems either. Haven't had any issues with shopping and wanting to try on clothes either. And at one casino/hotel, while going into the pool area, the woman on duty took me around and gave me a tour of the facilities including the ladies locker room and spa area and told me whenever I stay there to not worry about changing in my room before going to the pool, but to use the locker room. Which I have done a number of times. Including this past Sunday, during which I had a very nice, long conversation with two other women (GGs) while "au natural", about me and the movie Transamerica. It's no big thing (no pun intended) being a girl with a penis! Jaie

If you call ahead, you make it sound like it's maybe something they should be concerned about. If you just go in there and act like it is normal, that's the way they will most probably treat it. I've used motels from North Carolina to California and in all of them it has been "Thank you, sir" after I have given them my Visa card.

hiya all, let me give a insider viewpoint, as i am employed as a desk clerk for a motel. I work the night shift, and as long as u obey hotel policies, and not cause a lot of noise, or any other disruptions to any other guest, u are ok. and at checkin, as long as u are 18 yrs old, and pay for the room, its none of my business.

I can tell you, sure i can spot situations: once i had 2 guys check in to a single (1 bed) room. They paid for the room, and i had no trouble whatsoever.

so morale of story is: pay for room, and behave./...and any motel shall not have a problem w/ u

Sophia,

If you look anything at all like your avatar, nobody will ever question you at all!

Butterfly Bill makes a valid point. Nothing is out of the ordinary, so why call unnecessary attention to it?

Now personally, I never had such confidence, so if I was going to check-out en-femme, I always made sure all I had to do was leave the key in the door.
I always checked-in in drab. Coming and going at my leisure I felt was my own business, though I was usually as discreet as possible.

I wish I could open my own motel exclusively for CDrs. Maybe I'd call it "Breast Western"! LOL

Hugs,

Bernice

Not necessary. Just ask one of the salesclerks to start you a dressing room. (Not if they'll start you a dressing room.) So far I've never had a problem, but if they're uncomfortable about it, asking gives them a chance to raise the issue. Which is when one asks for the manager, who usually will set the salesclerks straight about the fact that your money is just as good as anyone else's. And if they don't, then make it clear you'll be happy to take your money elsewhere -- and you'll be sure to let others know about the poor service you received.

My credit card has a smeared signature so it's common for me to get asked to show ID regardless of how I'm justed. When I've used it shopping en femme the only reaction I've gotten is "yup, that's you."

Myself I wouldn't ask I would just do it. But if you think there might be a problem or you don't want to cause a scene(like that would really happen) by all means call in advance and discuss the problem with them.

I've stayed in hotels and such a bunch of times. But will admit I am a chicken! When checking in I'm in drab mode.

Monday night while traveling for buisness I got to a hotel...checked in...dressed up...then busted right out thru the lobby to get to my car and go shopping. Gawd thats a thrill!

I have checked into hotels and motels many times and then changed into my femme outfits, but I have always been very cautious about coming and going because I have thought that I might be doing something illegal or something that would cause a complaint from other patrons. Having read all the responses, I think that I will assume a different attitude in the future. The advice and comments have been very helpful. Thanks for asking.
