Well,I am on the road this week, had an early meeting with a customer came back to my hotel room and got all dressed for a day of working from the hotel. Well next thing i know it is 5 o'clock and i haven't eaten all day. So after a lot of what ifs and are you sure i put my foot (Well heel) out the door and down the stairs to my car. Drove to the drive in, ordered and paid fully dressed and made up, not a question not a laugh not even a look. Wow!!!!I truely can not believe i did it !!! Now i am hooked, tomorrow night i said to my self i will do it again, there is a crossdresser store not far from hear i am going to go there fully dressed and get my self something. Sorry for the Rant but i had to share it with someone i am so excited.

It is a thrill no matter how little you show your self. Walking thru the mall is always a kick no matter how many times I have done.

Oh hell, go to an Olive Garden and have a nice sit down dinner. My first in-your-face with the outside world was with my wife at an Applebees. Everyone was incredibly nice. We both got maamed a lot. Go for it.

Hell-o Laura,
What a terrifying and exciting experience, and it all started
with something as simple as one heel out the door.
Nice to hear you were able to beat down that mental terror!
Much Love,
Kristyn

Good for you, Laura! It sounds like a thrill!

If you don't mind me asking, where/whats the name of the CD store not far from you? I ask because I'm also from SoCal and I would love to check it out sometime.

It's a lot easier in a town where nobody knows you.

You should be excited, well done! Now sit and eat inside a restaurant to further enhance that freedom.

For me, the first time was the most scary. It went so well I couldn't wait to do it again. The second time and afterwards it became exciting and fun.

Pretty scary times the first time.... It does get easier but never get's less thrilling. I just drove 4100 miles round trip totally en femme and I surely did not change every time I had to stop for gas. Not one person gave me more than a second look.

Wow Laura. That is great. I am new or should say back into it but nervous as heck. Still limited to the privacy of my home right now but long for the day where I can venture out.

That's great to hear Laura and I hope you had a lovely evening. I really do believe it's a confidence thing. If you go out feeling really self conscious, awkward and fearful people do pick that up and you will attract negative attention. If you go out relaxed and happy with a smile and move confidently people just don't notice as much. That's what I have always found in my experience anyway.

Congrats. I have done the completely dressed in the hotel room when out of town (I am right now). However, I the first "heel out the door" is the big leap. I hope you have more fun stepping out.

Well done Laura!
A girl has to eat sometime and getting changed back into boy mode just to get a burger would have been such a drag wouldn't it?
Go for it!

In Chicago, there is "Transformations by Rori"- on Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights. About 12 miles from O'Hare. Rori's pretty cool- does a lot of wig and makeup fitting. The shop has been there for many years, just kitty corner from the village hall. While there is a suburban mindset here, the community is pretty laid back.

Going out that first time is a rush- adrenaline can be addictive! Congrats!
