So I was at the therapist today for a little mental health checkup.

I have been seeing her for quite sometime now, 4 years. When I began seeing her I had a lot of other issues. Anyways, she helped me progress to the point of beginning HRT this past April. Still on a low dose for a couple reasons but, today she said that I was looking more feminine in appearance. It was about 5 weeks in-between appointments so I hope she wasn't lying or trying to make me feel good.

When I was driving home,I began thinking, UH OH if she noticed that in 5 weeks, What about people I have not seen in 5 months or longer?

You got that Right,,lol,,, You and the ones around you can't see it but like you said the ones that haven't seen you in a while will notice. I see it more and more everyday that some people I have known for years will walk right by. I thought that was the Perk? That is the whole reason for it to me,, Woo,,Hoo,,, All that means is it's working,,lol,,

My therapist often says stuff like that too, though it leaves me wondering if she's being sincere or saying it because I'm paying her. naturally I hope the comments are sincere, as I hope with yours also.

the fact that you sincerely hope the comments were real (and i'm sure they were!) is part of the therapy data for you...

how you take in that comment and process it can be informative in your therapy and help inform your identity and path.... if you havent got these comments before it feels really powerful

I would believe that the comment was real. There are subtle changes that take place . Sometimes only noticed by a professional.
People around you all the time will not notice. The first person around me that noticed any changes was my wife. That was more then a year after I was on hormones.

They will look at you and say "wow, you look great."

At least that is my experience. Feminization is so far outside most people's experience that they will interpret changes in terms of overall appearance, not gender.

If your therapist is genuine, then he/she would NOT lie to you.
