I'm going to keep the airlines names out of this to protect them.

I've just spent a week in my home town with my dad... Flying both ways. Interesting was the fact that, although my passport remains in my old name (hold up on birth certificate replacement due to provincial gov finally accepting gender marker changes at the same time as name change ya me). My tickets needed to be booked under my passport name.

I was able to checkin under my current name using my current drivers license dispite the name mismatch.

It's interesting in this climate of perinoid security that I was able to do this. The upside DARN NICE NOT HAVING TO FLASH MY OLD PASSPORT AND NAME! Likely NO chance I'd get away with this internationally but checkin went like a charm, no second looks, grimisses, or anything. Life is settling!

Cheers... Jennifer

Very nice, but I bet you'll breathe a sigh of relief when that passport comes thru.
Hope you had a great trip.

Sweet! That makes things a lot more sane. But yes, the passport change will probably bring a great big smile.

Lucky you. I may have to obtain a Passport shortly just to enter any federal facilities and perhaps to fly within the US in the future.

The Department of Homeland Security is coming down hard on New Mexico for issuing Drivers Licenses to illegal immigrants. Our state legislature has refused to address the problem. May finally be forced to resolve this ID issue in January 2016.

And this fubar does not even take into account gender marker changes, alas.
