My wife and I went to the theater tonight. Nondescript sweater and slacks. I happened to have shaved today,
I'm pretty slender, and my bra strap-length hair was pulled back in a pony tail.
I'm cleaning my glasses by the sink in the men's room when two youngsters, perhaps 5 and 7, walked in.
They looked at me quizzically, and the older one asked "is this the men's room"?
I responded basso profundo "yeah little dudes, this is the men's room".
Didn't entirely sink in what had transpired until I returned to my seat :-)
Hugs, Michelle

That happened to me once when growing my hair out. It was almost shoulder length and I was washing my hands in the Men's room and a guy walked in, took a look at me and then walked right back out. Oopsie!! A few seconds later he walked back in as I was leaving.

I had my hair long about 15 years ago and was wearing eye liner, mascara and carrying a purse pretty much every day to work ( I had a very creative graphic design job at the time). The neighbor kids frequently would ask me if I was a boy or a girl. My response was, what do you think?

I had long hair back in the 60s (I was a musician and that was the style). I was mistaken for a woman from the back or from a distance a few times. I was pretty slender (skinny) back then.

At one time I was often directed to the ladies room whilst dressed in drab.
Sadly it hasn't happened in a long time. :-(

So, did this upset you?
It was kids, and with your long hair, lack of receding hair line and we'll manicured brows probably through them off a little. When I first read the thread title, I thought, uh oh. But not so bad after all.

DDG, this seems to be a common occurrence of late. But that may be why you are simply DDG!

I've had this happen more than once, it's always amusing to see others people reactions.
