So 8 hours in Urgent Care yesterday and I have a kidney stone - it freaking hurts. They aren't rare, they happen to people, but they are a condition statistically correlated to estrogen HRT. I knew this, but I have been on estrogen for a long while (7-8 years?? now), and of course I can't help but think my kidney stone is related . . .

And so it's Christmas Eve and I am on stupid pain meds, I can't work, I can't drive, I can't finish getting ready for the holiday, and I know I am emotionally labile because of the opioids, but damn it . . . . I am SO tired of being TG . . . I am SO bloody tired of it. . . Life without HRT wasn't bearable, and HRT made life bearable, and it gives me this . . .

I'll be ok. I know enough to go find a counsellor if I really start to unravel. But, for now I just want to be angry and cry . . .

hugs,

'lissa

Sorry. Kidney stones hurt, big time. Of course, lots of people get hemwithout HRT, but you don't want to hear that right now...

I am sorry to hear about your pain and suffering especially at this time of the year. My son just went through, and he is not on HRT. He was losing weight for a long time and had a dull pain in his side. They found a 1/2 inch stone that they eventually ultra sound blew it to pieces. That didn't finish it because he was back in the emergency room 3 more time before they finally got it taken care of. Now, 3 months later he is finally starting to gain back a little weight and is pain free. Good luck with your treatment, rant as you must and keep taking care of yourself. As someone once said, "This too will pass". Now did he mean the stone or the overall situation. I am betting on both. Hugs and stuff

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I've had two kidney stones, worst pain imaginable. Not that I'd know, but they compare kidney stones with child birth. Strength and good karma to you this holiday season. Hugs, Michelle

Eeeek, I had a few kidney stones. One I remember was after a romp. Then ouch... could not even make it to the bathroom and collapsed. LOL yeah they do hurt.

I've had three stones. Two passed without problems but one was an adventure. I hope to start HRT soon; so then I'd be more likely for more stones? Yuck!

BTW, the recovery from the bad one didn't take very long. Get well soon.

Kidney Stones can be a real pain.

I know from experience. The result in my case was three weeks of work. Its not easy to deal with when you cant do anything until you are better. You cant be emotionially liable because your ill.

Two weeks until the stone was gone and a week to recover.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Had my first one at 18. Hurt so bad I thought I was going to die. Doctor said it was calcium oxylate. The oxylate part is most commonly found in chocolate. So apparently there is such a thing as death by chocolate.:doh:Hope you have a quick recovery.

Hope you get better soon. Been there done that quite a few times. Always remember the first time. Drove myself to ER. Tried to check in but they were busy and said wait out there. Now picture this-- U.S.M.C. veteran laying on the waiting room floor with about 10 people yelling at the nurses they think this guy is dying. hehe Yep I know your pain..

Happened to me one night, and I've never experienced such pain, and I had abdominal surgery for Crohn's Disease where I was on morphine for a week after. No comparison in the pain. In my case, I somehow rode it out through morning, and then drove myself to the hospital in rush hour traffic in a manual transmission car. ("Uphill, both ways!") Somehow, by they time I was X-rayed, I had passed them, but my kidneys were still inflamed.

All I can say is I sympathize, and hope this too, shall pass. I hope it's over, soon!!!

You'll get over it. Appropriate medical therapy should resolve the problem.
I was in hospital after having my entire large intestine surgically removed for bowel cancer. Yeah, sure it hurt. You know what hurt worse? The fact there was a kid on the same ward as me, 18 years old, who was NEVER going to leave that hospital.

Count your blessings if kidney stones is all you have to deal with.

......i have 5 ruptured dicks in my back......

Now that surely would be uncomfortable. And all those poor men too
