I had 4 hours to kill before my daughters big Xmas celebration. Had it a day early because her ex gets her 2 little girls on Xmas day.

I drove in from SoCal the nite before and checked into a casino near her. I thot taking some photos around the casino and in it would a fun use of the time. I don't enjoy gambling and only have a netbook with me.

Anyway, after about an hour of taking photos, an older, in charge, and obviously disgusted security guard said I had broken a lot of casino rules. Take the mask off now, he demanded! Then, after a half hour of checking my ID and that: was a guest there, hewalked me back to the rooms elevator. He told me one of the rules I had broken was, "obviously I was a man in womens clothes". Which bothered me. So, I called the head of security to find out if that wasan issue? He told me it definitely was not. That they welcomed dressers. But, that masks and taking pics in the gaming areas is forbiden.

So, I can happily report that in Vegas u can dress nearly everywhere. Even if u don't pass. Just don't pics around the gambling areas in the casinos!

Sherry, Casinos have more cameras than any place on earth. The reason you can not wear a mask is because of facial recognition software used to detect card counters caught in the past.

Sherry do you not think in hindsight that it was unwise to wear a mask? after all you would have stood out like a sore thumb, surely we are all supposed to blend in not stand out like "Here I am look at me". apart from the security side of things it would have been better to a) not wear a mask and most importantly B) Ask if you could take some pictures as a memento of your visit and also having found out that that was not possible then maybe you could have bought some post cards of the casino.
Just a thought but I think you stepped across the line big time.

What kind of mask were you wearing? And why would you be wearing it?

Sherry ,
Please explain the way you CD some members don't realise your methods !
I can understand their objections , it's a sad fact that you have had a lot of problems with violent acts in the US , security must be pretty high plus you have the extra problem of wearing a disguise in a Casino which has to be a sensitive area .

The rule against taking pictures in the gaming area has been around forever. Gambling used to be something you could be blackmailed for, so casinos simply banned photography to avoid the issue of their patrons being blackmailed.

A very good point, Teresa.
For those that don't know, I wear masks to look more fem. Without them I'm simply an old man in a dress. Or so i believe at least. I have a number of fetishes. But masks aren't one of them! I just can't ever appear as the female I wish to be without them.

I respect your opnion, Bobbi. But, I don't "dress to blend" very well. I much prefer to see a hot
young woman in my mirror. And, without a mask, no matter how nicely I'm dressed, seeing an old mans face on a young woman,s body ruins the effect completely! For me, anyway.
And, the head of security would disagree with u. Take off the mask, don't take photos is restricted areas. But, wearing Womens things is just fine. Once they knew who I was, what I was doing, and that I was a gguest it was noo big deal. As I reasoned in. Before hand. I'm just a CD.. we just want to do our thing and not bother anyone!

Sherry, Oh dear if you had expanded a bit more with your post I would have understood far more clearly than I did. I admire you for doing what you are doing, you have more courage than I could ever have, go for it!

Sherry, I know from experience that you can inquire with concierge or guest services before hand and they will be very accommodating for any photo shoot.

Heck my local mall does not allow the picture taking in the general areas. Some stores will allow it if you ask. They also do not allow videos either. From what I've seen any casino will not allow any masks on the gambling floor. I know many venues may have a specific location/backdrop for tourist taken pictures.

They ought to have hired you to promote their place, instead they bust you. They cheat millions out of gullible fools daily, they can afford to let you have fun. Guess they get serious about their business of fleecing the public.

docrobbysherry;

I've known you for years on and off in the masking word. I used to make fiberglass masks long ago (Fantesca was my trademark in that world) I respect what you do, and I was blown away by the epic set you did in what appeared to be an abandoned bar where you wrote an entire narrative of a life well lived, a few years back.

Something similar happened to me at a casino in Harrisburg PA while taking pictures (no masks though.) We were talking pictures of ourselves (en femme) and a security guard came up and gave us grief about taking pictures of the gaming floor. He did say we could take pictures facing away from the floor towards the walls or buffet but not on the gaming floor. I guess it is a policy at all casinos, though with covert camera phones I don't know how they can completely prevent it nowadays.

Holy crap Sherry, you sure take more than you're share of 'bullets' for 'us' girls!! Ya know, you really don't need the mask, right!? (yah, I've seen Sherry 'un masked' and you look completely natural hon! ☺ )

I have never worn a mask and have always tried to appear as feminine as possible when I'm in public. However several years ago at a local, off reservation casino, while dressed, my friend and I were told by security that we had to use the men's room after some patron complained that we were in the ladies room. If we had been wearing masks like yours, the situation could have gotten a whole lot worse.

I appreciate all your responses on this is sensitive subject matter. I KNOW it's not everyone's cup of tea. For both dressers and vanillas alike!

I assume it's just that one old documentary they keep reshowing, Michelle?

U r correct, Stephanie. Sherry was thrown out of our biggest and best mall here a couple years asgo. Along with the private camera crew shooting their own commercial video and photos. And, I believe it had more to do with the camera crew than my mask!:heehee:

That was quit an epic for me at the time, Wen4. And, one I'll never be able to duplicate! I've shot a couple of other lengthy and time consuming picto stories since then. And, am working some now. But, they contain nudity and I can only post them on odd web sites.
Do u ever still make masks? PM me!:battingeyelashes:

I have never had a serious issue in a ladies room, fortunately, Jilmac. Strangely, I may have gotten less stink eyes from women there when I went in as Sherry!:daydreaming:

Ok, Rogina. Next time out, leave off your makeup and forms and see if U feel like you're presenting your "best lady"! Then, you'll know how I feel!

I don't believe so, Sue. I think it's just that u bring out the BEST in everyone around u!:hugs:

What a story Sherry. If you had asked me first, I'd have told you not to take out the camera in a casino :)!!!

I keep telling Sherry that. It just doesn't get through. But I understand where she's coming from.

Doesn't she???

Still, even if you won't listen to me, you should listen to Sue.

I ALWAYS listen to u and Sue. And, actually everyone that has suggestions. U have no idea how much your advice and encouragement have helped me.

The only reason I ever go out of my closet at all is because of u. But, my problem is NOT me dressing and going out, it's that woman in my mirror. She just doesn't seem to give a crap about anyone or anything except showin' herself off! She constantly pushes me WELL PAST my comfort zone!

But, at my age, I think her raising the bar may be keeping me young. Or, at least, giving me good reasons to get out of bed in the morning!

If I bring out the best in you it is only because I see it in you and I want you to feel it.

Sue well said! Listening costs nothing ignoring can cost a lot in the long run. I listened and heeded advice here and it was all worthwhile. Going out and saying I am do what I wan tis allvery well but it might not be the right thing at the end of the day which is what happened to you, Sherry.

It shouldn't be surprising that you're not allowed to wear a mask in a casino. You're not going to get away with it in a bank or pawn shop either.

As for pictures, well they can try but with modern technology they will be unable to stop it. You can easily buy a video camera built into a ball point pen or a pair of glasses. And of course everyone is carrying a cell phone capable of taking pictures. Are they going to confiscate cell phones?

Maybe that's why they scolded me but made no attempt to remove the photos from my camera I had already taken, Krisi?

It might have caused more trouble than it was worth. There's no good reason to piss off a paying guest who has done no real harm.

As I posted, trying to prohibit photos, videos and recordings is a losing battle with the technology nearly everyone carries today. They can say it but they can't enforce it.
