I just wish I could speak and read spanish. I would have like to know more about how they made the wig look so seamless, that must have been an expensive wig if they were curling it.

In Japan, when someone wants to dress up as a Maiko/Geiko/Geisha/Oiran, the makeup people put a 'katsura' or wig on you and sometimes BLEND in your natural hair. They did with my sisters when I took them to Kyoto last summer. The wig line is place just above your normal hair line and they take strands and blend it in, adding a black power/dye that's rinseable later, to match the wig color. So, they probably used a similar technique with this Mexican star.

I wish I could get a make-over like that!

Try lowering your showlders and lift your head...A little leather and diamond leash might help a bit(on sexuality though)...

Having a theatrical makeup background (I'm a costume designer), I believe the wig has what is called a lace front. Bascially, its a fine neting that goes just in front of your real hairline. Thier are tons of seperated wig hairs "venelated" on to this netting. The resulting effect is a seamless progression from skin to "hair", much like a real hairline. However, this is neting is very visable from about a foot away. But on stage, and in most pictures, it all most totally invisable. Hopes, this helps!! Love R.

V-necked tops/dresses will help, since it will create a longer shape, which will create the illusion of a narrow neck. (If you've got chest hair, you can wear a light-colored cami underneath, although you might need to shave a little.) It also helps to wear a pendant necklace, which will draw the eye away from your neck.

But the irony is, usually when someone goes through that much, they come out looking phoney and drag queeny.

If your goal is to look like an average woman, you could probably get away with a lot less drastic of a transformation.

yeah you see wig applications like that on SNL-type shows all the time.. racheal is right, it's some kind of netted hair attached to a comb or adhesive. it's amazing work most of the time, but it's obviously very time consuming. Must be nice to be able to get a hollywood makeup job done.. it'd almost be worth getting into acting just for that.

Hmmmm---That hairline looks like a Photo shop SMUDGE. Ive done similar things to my own pics.

Also I hear that the BEST thing to put on eyebrows to hide them is not soap, but the Elmer glue STICK----(it washes off)

Hi everyone. Teal, yes they used soap. What they did was tech. in the theater called "blocking them out". Basically, use a bar of soap and repeatedly cover the eyebrows, fowling the direction of the hairs. After SERVAL applications of soap the brows will stick together and lay flat. The next step is to cover the soap in a VERY heavy base. And, as you said draw in the new eyebrows. Overall, the transformation in this is very good, but it is pretty typical m to f techniques for the stage being used. “For the stage” is the optimum word, up close ( 5 feet or so) the blocking of the eye brows looks like two very large bumps on you forehead with some lines drawn on them. Being a c.d. and a costume designer, I would really not recommend many of the techniques used in this transformation unless you are going for a very drag look. Hope this helps! Love. R.

Well this was stage make-up for a stage production, so it's not meant to seen from as nearly as close a distance as the photos. A lot of regular stage actors also look similarly overdone.

But your point is well-taken there are transformation services who seemed to be staffed by people who's experience is in stage make-up. Or on modelling photo shoots where make-up is also quite heavy and looks good in photos but overdone in real-life.
