View Full Version : Tips you learned from movies

A recent thread in the beauty section asked about tips for applying eyeliner. The question reminded me of a scene from the Breakfast Club, where Molly Ringwald shows Allie Sheedy to open her mouth while applying the liner (it helps BTW).

Funny thing is, I was not actively dressing, or not much at this point, but it lodged in my brain anyway. Maybe this says something about my predisposition to CDing? Anyway, do you have a memory of a movie or book scene that sticks out in your mind that may have been influential in your dressing or otherwise TG experience or expression?

Ya know, I've been thinking about this for a while and, well, I can't come up with anything.

What does come to mind are three examples from the 80's that fueled my pink fog big time and planted the seed that I wanted to, and perhaps could, go out in the wild and blend in as a chick: Christopher Morley in Freebie and the Bean, Jeff Bridges in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie.

Looking forward to seeing other responses to this thread. Hugs, Michelle

To Wong Foo

Saw that one with my wife and her sister. I was kinda out (by accident) to my sister in law at the time and I seriuosly shared a resemblance to PS at the time...kinda awkward to say the least 😨

Taught me a guy who looks like this:

Could look like this:

I learned that even with the best transformation artists and the best lighting and photography.
You're still going to look a little like a male in a dress.

Speaking in a falsetto voice only fools characters in movies, not people in real life. One of the worst mistakes crossdressers make.

I don't remember the movie, but I think it was Lauren Bacall pulling her stockings and clipping them to the garters that showed me how to do it with my mom's stockings.

In the New Girlfriend there was a scene on how to put on mascara. Right hnd for right eye, left hand for left eye.

I watched a talented ladyboy, playing a villain, run in heels, in Steven Segal's "Belly Of The Beast" - heel-to-toe, really really quick, and you can cover some serious ground.

Kim Novac and other actresses of the 50's and 60's wore scarves over their hair in many movies.

While I don't wear them often, u should see my scarf collection!:heehee:

In Basic instinct, Sharon Stone taught me to keep my legs crossed unless I'm looking for attention ;)
