Would you want both varieties of plumbing?

Do you desire to have both boy and girl parts? I'm going to circumvent the obvious contingent answers by presenting 2 scenarios:

Scenario #1
Your dual plumbing cannot reach one another.

Scenario #2
You are fully capable of self-interlocking.

For me, I'd love to be in scenario #1.

I would say neither. I would want the external appearance of female but wouldn't want the maintenance of the internal for amount it would be needed. Though if I had to choose, I think I would go with #2. It would add a whole new dimension to tucking.

I would like to be able to err.. retract everything so as to present a neat mound. It's just a case of I think it's a bit untidy as it is. Would also make it reasonable to wear stretchy close fitting skirts without little children pointing and saying "What's that?"

I've experienced both types of plumbing and trust me, having to find adapters for imperial to metric and then fitting BSP/Whitworth threads on iron pipes and now that danged awful polyethylene pipe with push fittings... :( Mind you - even had some lead plumbing in my childhood home...

This is really in the realms of science fantasy... notwithstanding all the obvious obstacles to this, scenario #2 sounds very self-fulfilling... but then again, isn't there a danger of some sort of multiple-O chain reaction that could lead to a sexual criticality event - and everything might explode...? :eek:

Mind you, thinking it through, scenario #2 does give you somewhere convenient to tuck... :lol:

I'm not really interested in dual plumbing. My fantasy would be to be able to switch from all male to all female whenever I wished. I desperately want both, but not at the same time. Unfortunately only one of these desperate desires is met. Fortunately, it is the one that I would prefer(I think, sometimes I waver a bit) if it is the only one I can have.

I would not want dualism. Either one or the other is fine with me. The problem is that getting the "other" plumbing is very difficult, painful, and fraught with peril. Surgeons can do amazing things, but when things go awry they can stay that way for the rest of your life. For some, physical congruity is an imperative, for others not so much.

The #2 scenario reminds me of George Carlin talking about where his dog could reach with his tongue. The punchline was "If I could do that, I'd never leave the house!"

Yes but this is fantasy. Have you read any Ian M Banks? I prefer his non SF works but one idea, of the super evolved humanity, is the ability to switch. Interestingly it's not instant, but takes a while... He is a fascinating writer. Now sadly gone.

Given the choices of the OP, I'd choose number 1. As time goes on the male plumbing looses function, so an alternative would be convenient. Or just be able to switch from one to the other at will!

Lol I had lead in my plumbing also when I was a youngster but now that I'm older it seems the lead has begun to vanish and the lead has turned to more like flex seal putty now.

I've done on-line roleplaying and written stories where scenario 1 was a comparatively common instance. Less common than the 'normal' polarized gender designations, but common enough that it was accepted in that society as a third gender 'plumbing' possibility, and not something that would make most people stare in disbelief if they found out that was how you were equipped. (Though in some of those settings, it was discriminated against like many other forms of 'being different' sadly are.) 'Hermaphrodite' is the common and proper term for condition 1.

My own personal preference would be to somehow have the ability to switch at will between the two states (as well as switching the rest of my height, figure and other bits), rather than having both present at once.

But option 1 would also be attractive to me.

Option 2 certainly creates some interesting thoughts, but I doubt it would work well, other than, as someone else stated, a very unique and more pleasant way to tuck. ;) I think I would stick with #1.

I would love to have been born with a female body, but I would never consider gender reassignment. I accept what I have, and even with surgery and hormones, my chromosomes would still be wrong, so deep inside I'd know that I still wouldn't be the female I would like to be.

Some us don't have a choice, dear. I'm both. I have always been both for as long as my brain cells add it up and report the world to me.

I wish it was easier, but it isn't and won't be anytime soon. I either get appreciative or derisive looks everywhere I go. I'm not even 'all that far out' as far as I am concerned. I wear 'safe' but ambiguous women's clothing. I wear a ton of pink & blue in mixes on purpose. I *try* to be ambiguous. *&!^@%* I have been fighting this kind of stuff almost my whole life.

My wife took a look and almost ran... I don't think she regretted her decision to stay. At least not what she has shared with me.

Alice you are quite right, for some that have been born as being Intersexed this is a condition that many Doctors share this information with babies’ parents as part of the process of deciding the most appropriate sex to assign.
It is sometimes later in life that the person may have a dissatisfaction with one’s assigned sex at birth.

You know, on the same subject, I have always felt that male parts are not very elegant, and are kind of poorly designed. (sorry God, no disrespect meant) I always thought it would be way better if our male parts where more internal ( like behind some kind of male version of labia), instead of hangin out there all loose and ugly. Then only came out when needed.

I like the one I have and I think both of your options have way too many drawbacks compared to the benefits. The first offers only restroom options from my view and #2 would be overwhelming in both the maintenance and the need for self-discipline to do be able to focus on anything productive.
It could give you new appreciation for the differences in how each one functions, like reset time versus what just happen, lets go again.
