I had a fun night out last night. I recently joined an "LGBTQ Ladies Happy Hour" meetup group in my new town. Last night they had a social event primarily for new members, at a downtown bar. I dressed my best, in black boots, black stockings, a black faux-leather skirt that came just below my knee, a nice black blouse with silver decorations at the neckline, and a black shawl-collar leather blazer.
I managed to park just a block away. When I got to the bar, six or seven twenty-something girls and guys were hanging out in front of the place, while some of them smoked. One girl in the group looked me up and down and complemented me on how great my outfit looked and on how beautiful I was. A friend of hers, who she described as 'my super-gay boyfriend' insisted he loved my clothes and hair and that he really wanted to buy me a drink, and she gave him cash to do it, encouraging him. So he escorted me into the bar, buying a drink for me and one for himself.
The bar was packed with 30 or so lesbian ladies from the club, several of whom recognized me from my Meetup profile photo and started to welcome me as I came in, while they kind of gave him a fishy look. (ha ha) He was actually very sweet, and didn't hang around. First time I have ever been offered a drink before even stepping into the venue!
The ladies in the group were great to chat with, and very friendly and welcoming. A nice mix of married or paired couples and single ladies. I stayed for three hours, chatting with most of them at one point or another, and made several new friends. Also got to chat with both of the bar's owner - a very nice lesbian duo. Really looking forward to more social outings with that group!
