They apologised for the delay because they had to wait for the second opinion which I had in December.
I think that's not too bad considering the queues.

Mr Philip J Thomas
Brighton.

It's just the preliminary appointment though.

That's the Nuffield hospital in Brighton. I have visited another member there a while back and it looked very nice.

If you're up to the shock, I could come and visit when you are there ...

Happy for you. It seems to be a good place, and included with your NHS so yay times two.

Do you know how long the waiting list is for surgery? I know there are few surgeons in the UK who do SRS, when I was looking in 2013, there were 2 in the south, Bellringer and Thomas and 1 up here, Oliver Fenton. Not even sure if he is operating now, he was talking about retiring not long after I had my surgery.

I'm just going to have to wait and see, roughly 18 months was the last estimate.

Just Bellringer and Thomas now I think.

Wow, that is a while, I have found out that Mr Fenton (http://www.spirehealthcare.com/methleypark/our-facilities-treatments-and-consultants/our-consultants/mr-oliver-fenton/) is still doing SRS, on another UK forum, one of the girls on there is due to have surgery in March with him.

Were you told who you had to use, or were you given a choice? Not sure how much things have changed since I was on the care pathway, but I had a choice, initially of the two down south, until Mr Fenton returned to surgery.

Hi Becky

Good news for you, nice news to hear.

I am a bit behind you (not that far) but have been informed by my clinic that the average waiting time for the Nuffield Brighton after final referral and clinical consultation is 6 months to SRS. Are you at Charring Cross as I hear they have a long waiting time, either way good luck and I hope all moves along quickly for you.

I was given the choice between those two.

I transferred away from CX to Northampton, best thing I did as it's dramatically speeded things up. I have had three appts. since June (last one was the second referral for surgery) compared to CX one every year.
If only they could get my Estrogen levels up.

Thinking about the 18 month wait, it will seem a long time to wait but for me time flow by.

Sounds like you made a really good move away from CX, let's hope in the time you are waiting you get your Estrogen levels up and they bring your date forward a few months. I bet you can't wait??? It's nice to hear good news for a change..
