Okay, so I promised a report on day two of my first time in public weekend. I am sorry it has taken me so long to get it up. That frustrating “boy life” just keeps taking up all my time lately, it seems.
As we were driving back to my hotel on Friday night after that fun filled first day, I lamented to Krissy that I was so sad the day was over but that I did have one fem thing left to do: remove my makeup and moisturize like any good GG would before bed. It was fun in its own way. Krissy told me that I was going to sleep like a baby since I had checked almost every imaginable box off the CD “to-do” list in my very first day out. She was right and wrong. LOL….I feel asleep quickly and soundly but awoke restless at around 3AM again. What is the deal with 3AM?!?!?!?! I tossed and turned and thought until about 6:15ish and decided to get up and start getting ready as Krissy was supposed to come get me around 8:30 or so to start our Saturday.
I got a shower and a good chest shave and hand and foot shave. Then got out and started my makeup routine. Krissy called and said she was running late and it might be after 9 before she arrived and I was happy as I was taking longer than expected to get ready too. I was trying to remember and apply some of the tips the cute young girl had given me at Mac the day before and using some of my $100 worth of makeup that I had purchased. It felt girly that we were both running late….LOL
When Krissy arrived we decided to drive down the road to a little restaurant called Corner Bakery and have breakfast before a little more shopping. Being a Saturday morning it was fairly busy and there was a small waiting line to order at the counter. My confidence was still high from Friday so we just got in line and chatted away like two girlfriends would do. Once again, as was the theme Friday, nobody gave us a second glance. We both ordered a yogurt with fruit and granola. It was good. The best part was the Hazelnut Cream coffee….Mmmm….good. We ate and chatted for about 30-45 minutes about what we wanted to do as we had the morning free and were going to meet another CD at 3PM in Dallas. I told Krissy that I needed tops more than anything and wanted to shop for some and also that I needed a few makeup items (remover mainly).
So after leaving the restaurant we found a Ross store and went in and started shopping. I found several tops to try on and Krissy found a couple of skirts. We had such a good time at the racks holding stuff up for the yes or no nod from the other about what might work or might not… We took our stuff back to the dressing room and for a single millisecond, I had a doubt. In all the stores yesterday like Target, Marshalls, Dillards, we had been shopping in the women’s department and of course used the dressing rooms right there without any problems or second looks. In Ross, the dressing rooms are at the back of the big store and when you approach the men’s was on the right and women’s was on the left and the attendant was standing there and my mind froze. I was put at ease immediately as the attendant just gracefully opened her right arm and hand towards the women’s dressing room and said “ladies”….Once inside I started trying on my tops and taking pics to text Krissy to get the thumbs up or down when I hear a knock on my dressing room door and a “Tara”…Krissy was standing outside showing off in the cute skirt she had picked out. She asked me about a top and I said I’d let her know when she said just come out and show me! So I got it on and out I came into the hallway of the women’s dressing area. Just having my friend check out my new top like two GG’s would do. So that was another first. Yesterday it was going into the women’s dressing rooms. Today I was trying stuff on and coming out to show them off! I decided on a grey top to buy. Krissy wanted to try the skirt in a size smaller so when she went back to try the smaller size on, I went to the shoes section. I had been wearing riding boots both days since I was worried about my height. I was no longer worried about that as Krissy was wearing some super cute wedge heels both days and was towering over me! And I was jealous!!!! I found some 3 inch wedge sandals in a size 10. I normally am a size 11, but since I had a moment I tried them on and they fit!!! The joy! I could wear these this afternoon to the bar. But I now needed some toe nail polish. After we left Ross we decided to go to a grocery store to buy the makeup items and toe nail polish. We shopped around and found what we needed and got the items bought. We realized time was getting away from us. Krissy had also put some really cute French manicure nails on since yesterday and I had brought some but was scared to put them on. We decided to head back to my hotel room and we could visit while I did my nails. When we got to the hotel, it was even later than we thought and we had a 30 minute drive to Dallas for the meet up so Krissy decided to run home and feed her pets while I did my nails and reshaved since we didn’t know how late we would be out. Turns out that was a good decision.
Krissy departed and I tried and tried to paint my toes. I finally got them semi presentable. I then removed my makeup and shaved, reapplied my makeup, and then started in on gluing my French nails on. I finally got them all on and wow, it is amazing how that ‘amped up the fem”….buckling my wedges with the long nails on was an adventure! Krissy arrived and for the first time I was taller than her! Krissy freshened up her cheeks with the Mac blush that I had bought Friday and we were off to Big D. We arrived at the bar where we were supposed to meet another CD from the site and she was running late. Krissy and I chatted and she was hungry since it was 3PM and we hadn’t eaten since breakfast. The bar didn’t serve food but there was a grill next door that the bartender said people would get to go orders from all the time and bring them in. Krissy was off! And I was alone at the bar…..dangerous!! LOL…. I was just chilling having a cold Coors Light and there was a group of three girls at the table next to me that started chatting with me. They said they loved my purse! Oh the thrill when GG’s to tell you they like something about you! Krissy arrived back with a platter of fried appetizers. There goes the bikini bod! Krissy was surprised that I was still alone. We ate, drank and chatted and then our third party showed up and we made our introductions and continued drinking and chatting for about 45 minutes. It is so neat to get to know other “girls” and hear what their life experience is. We all have so many similarities and at the same time are so different, just an interesting personal study.
It was getting towards 5 and we all decided to find a restaurant, I decided to go ask the bartender for a suggestion. This area of town has lots of pedestrian traffic and shops, bars, and restaurants and we wanted to walk somewhere. There were two GG’s at the bar and they were very sweet and had several suggestions. They suggested a Mexican restaurant as the best choice. I went back to tell the other girls and we were off. As we strolled toward the restaurant the third member of our party said she didn’t feel that comfortable walking that far into the business district to eat as she was afraid of seeing someone who might recognize her so we turned around and headed to another Mexican restaurant we had passed in our walk.
We went in and were greeted by the owner and then a cute little 30ish waitress came over to help us. We ordered drinks and shortly after dinner. The drinks were really good. The food wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about. The third member of our party had to leave as his wife was expecting him home at a certain time that was approaching. Krissy and I stayed and had a few drinks and chatted up the waitress a good bit. She gave us some nightlife ideas for the rest of the evening. When Krissy had excused herself to the restroom the waitress said she couldn’t believe how good we looked which really made me feel good.
We decided to try a couple of the clubs that she mentioned since they were all within walking distance. The first place was a country and western themed dance club. It was pretty packed and when we walked in Krissy and I just kind of circled the dance floor like a couple of teenage girls not knowing exactly what to do. There was a tiny opening at the end of one of the bars and we moved over there to stand and order a drink. When I went to order a young 20ish male really started chatting me up. To be honest at first I was tongue tied and didn’t know what to say or if I should just nod and walk away but in the parlance of this site, I just owned it and started talking back it was a sort of surreal experience at first but after it happened I must admit it felt pretty good. After that Krissy and I moved around a bit and had a few more drinks and were approached by several men and never seemed to have any issues at all.
Leaving there we decided if we were going to make a night of it we had better slow down on the drinks so we took a break and found an espresso bar and sat down and had a few espressos and a nice conversation. As much as this weekend fulfilled my burning desire to go out in public as a woman the very best part was making a new friend. Krissy and I had made contact here on the site and explored this possibility and it was just amazing. Until you actually meet someone, you’re not sure how it is going to work out, but we had so much in common that we were just like two college roomies getting together for a weekend reunion in mid life. We shopped, we ate, we drank, we clubbed, we laughed, and we just generally had a ball.
After the espressos woke us up (we really aren’t THAT old) we decided to try the more “modern” dance club. Oh my! We danced and danced and danced…….And in three inch wedges!! The fun! We talked and danced with so many people that we lost track of time and suddenly it was last call….OMG…..we closed down the club!!!
Jillian the waitress from the Mexican restaurant had said that the restaurant actually always turned into an “after hours” club with a DJ so being young at heart we decided to go back over for a moment. Finally we decided to call it a night. After driving back to my hotel it was almost 4AM. I had been “a woman” since roughly 6AM almost 22 hours straight added to all day Friday. Krissy and I said our goodbyes and vowed to do it again. I went to bed and had to be up to leave at 9AM. I made it.
The most important thing I learned from this weekend and I know I have an unfair advantage here since it sort of comes natural is to SMILE. If you are friendly and smile people want to INTERACT with you. GG’s almost all WANT to be your FRIEND or talk to you.
As many girls here before me have stated, going out is addictive. I can NOT wait to do it again!
