A fun run for charity sounds like it could be fun. But most people look bad in red, so questions:
1-- anyone ever been to it? Yes, then please describe experience
2-- do people stay dressed all day?
3-- any other men in dress events in the US?

I was watching a tv show last night that was set in New Orleans and the main characters both male and female were taking part in something called the Red Dress Run and they were all wearing red dresses.
I googled it and found out that this is real event that takes place in New Orleans in August. It is put on to raise money for charities and is seemingly a well attended event. I also found out that it is expanding to other areas and they just recently had one in Lexington Kentucky and there is one in Phoenix AZ on April the 9th.
None of these are close enough for me to attend but it might a chance for some to attend and have some fun, bet out dressed without having to worry and to help fund some charitable causes.

Maybe it would be fun, alright, unless outed by television. I might wear a red cardinal bird costume!LOL

I can not run anymore, But I can wear a red dress. I could be a spectator in the crowd.

Just to ad this it seems like not everyone runs, there is a lot of beer drinking and just having fun to support the charitable causes.

I have a friend who was in the run a few years ago. She said it was a lot of fun.

Not sure NO red dress run would work.
1- red does not look well w/ skin tone
2- it's in NO and crime is an issue
3- mostly, it's a run. I thought no biggie, just walk, but from FAQ it appears they check to see that you have run a bit as a part of their group. What would you expect from old military types.
So maybe we all need to put heads together and do a more fun charity event
Open to both sexes above 18
Attire-- mini dress of any color but knees must show. Can't be transparent or club wear.
Footware-- if walking, wedges preferred, but not required. If running, at least 2 inch heels. If handicapped, any footware.
Festive-- necklace and ear rings required
Heads must be covered-- no scarf only or baseball caps. Brims need be at least 1 inch. Worst case, have a group hat like the straw hats from vaudeville.
miss america type across the shoulder slash with bold imprint of event logo
location-- US and good airport access
event-- three days of planned join in activities, maybe something like this
fri even-- pick up slash and party hat in large free meeting area
sat-- walk/run day: all participants wear costume all day
sun-- recognition for best image group with most new comers and professional photo ops
cost-- under $80 with half going to one of 5 charities of participants choice
makeup-- optional, from gg, to tg, to bearded guys in ugly dresses
what do you think, would there be much interest in just a fun dress up event and no "education"

I live in Lexington Ky and I had to google it and they had one of Feb 13 of this year.
Seems it was more for the upper class type people.
Some of the pics I saw the guys looked like they were clowning by wearing muti colored wigs or just looking plain goofy.
Not what I would see as an event I would want to take part of and deff not a TG type event.
Give it a try if you want but don't expect carte blanche acceptance.
