View Full Version : Dressing at home

I'm curious what others do....when I'm home alone, I'll wear heels, panties, pantyhose, skirt, breast forms/bra, blouse and bracelets. I won't bother with a wig (too uncomfortable) or make-up (to much to fuss with and to clean-up). Wearing clothes is easier to put on and take off. I'll spend a good part of the day dressed like this and really enjoy walking about the house in my heels and the feel of being dressed like a woman. There is just something about wearing women's shoes and the feel of my "girls" breastforms hanging in my bra as well as the looking at myself in the mirror. So I'm wondering if others will dress up without wig or make-up.

I have long hair so I don't need a wig but if i had makeup I would definitely wear it, I like to experience the whole thing and not hold anything back.

I think if you did some research, I think you would find that most women don't wear makeup if they are not leaving the house. And of course, they wouldn't wear heels.

I do pretty much as you except I always wear the wig and butt padding and I seldom wear heels. The only makeup I wear is beard cover and lipstick unless I'm going out somewhere. I don't feel "whole" without the wig and butt padding.

if I'm not wearing pumps or high heels sandals, I'll wear the slip on "mules" or clogs with 3" heels. I'm just not into flats.

I just wear a bra and panties plus tights in winter. My outer clothes are gender neutral just in case I have to answer the door.

For me, a wig was always essential, whether I would be going out, or just enjoying myself at home alone. Makeup was nearly always part of the picture too. Not quite as critically important, since the wig (along with my enhanced female figure and sexy clothes to show it off) was sufficient to create the right look. The makeup was more like an icing-on-the-cake thing to heighten the pleasure, but not a necessity, especially if my time was limited.

Sometimes just my satin nightie, gown and undies does it for me. Other times just a Cami and shorts under that satin gown.

If I'm dressing, I'm all the way 99% of the time. Always a wig when dressing but may leave my face free of makeup. Those days are as rare as hen's teeth or rocking horse doings...which ever you prefer. :heehee:

Tina, I am very much like you in that my time is short and I love to dress. When I have the whole day, then I have the time to practice my makeup skills. Skills - not there yet.

Pretty much the same here. Only I put a wig on. The most makeup I've ever tried was some lipstick. That I know I can get off quickly and completely. Typically if my wife is working a morning shift or a mid-day shift, I'll take the opportunity to dress for anywhere from 2-4 or 5 hours before I have to go to work. Even better if I have the day off! Have been able to dress for up to 6 hours a couple of times and it feels great. Those are the times when the temptation gets strong to want to venture out. Hasn't happened yet.

I presently live alone and live as a woman at home but, I never wear makeup or heels at home.
I only wear make up when appearing en feme in public.

BTW, I'm I letting my hair grow and no longer wear wigs. Wigs have always been too uncomfortable for me.

I never understood the use of the word 'girls' as to refer to breasts. Or 'boys' for the reference to testicles. Doesn't make any sense. That said, what we wear is most likely more about what makes us feel as if we're female. For me, that includes the long hair. And nail polish, as both are almost constantly in my field of vision, and girl style watch, bracelet, necklace and earrings (I can feel both). Make up, not so much; I can't see it, or feel it. Basically, I need the visual and tactile feedback that tells me I'm female.

Yep. I relate to that as my time is really short, too. Often nothing more than an hour a week. Heels and a skirt or dress, with undies and the girls gives me a short fix but nothing like enough.
Bah.

After my get-out-of-bed rituals, I don all needed lingerie, my breast forms, outer wear of choice (no heels or wig), some jewelry and then the 'how pretty am I' mirror review as I apply my red lipstick. If I have to go out, its in drab, fully under dressed with small forms under a loose shirt. Love it!

For your consideration

I usually get a couple of nights a week every other week to dress, and just for convenience and coordination I decided one night will be 'casual night' and the other night 'fancy night.' Casual night I may or may not wear makeup (if I do it's something real basic, like lip gloss and mascara) and probably something simple like jeans and a tee or long skirt (something in that direction) and flats or non-dressy wedges. Something I could see just being 'at home' or doing basic errands with. Fancy night though is always full on makeup, almost always heels or dressier wedges, invariably something that shows leg or has motion. Either way always a wig and my wedding band set and usually but not always a necklace.

It all depends on how much time is available, usually Bra, panties, top, skinny jeans and ankle boots or pumps, not usually make-up or wig when pottering round the house, the wig usually leaves a mark on my forehead which my wife would comment on when she got home.
However last weekend when my wife was away for a couple of days I went the whole way, as my son was around to answer the door, so had a really femme weekend. (my son is ok with me walking around the house in any thing femme.)

For the past few years, I have been off makeup. Sort of. Earrings- nearly always, yeah! Nails- yes. Lip glosses/plumpers= yes. The occasional light eyeliner or mascara.. in the past few years the zeitgeist has been 'quick change'. Nails, while removable, can be covered by gloves in most cases.

I found a pretty nice wig I like, it has strands that float in front of my face when i am up writing late at night. The feel of the wig on my head: I am telling myself is the cost of being feminine with a less than feminine body. Because girls do in fact deal with a number of things that do not feel comfortable, for the sake of appearing pretty. I am not that different after all.

At least in the internal feeling. And that is what is important to those who want to feel female. No, we can not look as cute are a real girl, but we can try, and in a number of/ cases we can topically succeed. And god love those girls who appreciate our efforts.

Tina,
I totally agree with you , I dress and the only make up is lipstick. I'm just happy to do the jobs I would normally do, cooking , cleaning doing the washing and ironing and finally ventured into the garden despite the neighbours to water the large plant pots all round the garden.

Whenever I am dressed I go all out, from using Nair all over my body, to applying scented body lotion, panties, bra with silicone breast inserts, pantyhose, heels, makeup, perfume, women's jewelry, dress or a skirt and top.
I might walk around outside or go for a drive somewhere if going for a drive I take a purse and woman's billfold and a few other things in my purse.

Most of the time, I'll wear a bra/panties/breasts... if I'm in the mood to wear them. Sometimes, when I got plenty of time to sit around and lounge, I'll put a full outfit on.

Me too. Get up, take off nightie and dress completely, with firms, heels, earrings, necklace or pendant and bangles. Never, ever trousers - always a dress or skirt..sometimes lipstick but other makeup and wig only when going out which I do less and less. I shower on returning home from work and do the dressing again - almost every day. I spend more time in skirts and dresses than most women. I like to look good in women's clothes - I do not imagine I aka woman.

Like others, it depends.

If I have little time then I'll throw on a dress or skirt and top for a bit. If I have a little more time then I'll add bra and forms and wig.

If I have a lot of time then it's the full meal deal. I use those rare times when I have all day to experiment with makeup. Otherwise it's limited to what I can do in a short amount of time.

Tina yes I'm always dressing in my fem wear most days at home without the fuss of a wig or makeup.
Women's clothes are just more comfortable to do things around the house in. Heck I even do my workouts in fem workout gear. Don't get me wrong love a good dress up day to put on the makeup and wig but to just dress is fun as well

It depends on how much time I have and what else might be going on. I really enjoy it when I can get dressed up and spend the time to do my makeup. Most the time I know I'm not going to be able to do that so I don't put the makeup on. I usually start out wearing
wearing a wig but sometimes if its too hot in the house I end up taking it off because it gets uncomfortable. As to wearing heels it depends on what I'm around the house while I'm dressed.

I enjoy my reflection more then whenever I pass a mirror or a window at night.

My SO does not allow me to wear wig's or breast forms. LOL But I have long hair and B sized moobs and use a push up bra. So, I just let my hair down and she tells me to put on makeup a couple days a week. I do agree that it is nice to dress and feel comfortable as a woman. She tells me that if you are a girl to be natural and use your natural assets.

at home, full on femme from head to toe sans makeup for now.

sleeping, microfleece pajama set or my chemise gown. when it's cooler, I'll be sleeping in the chemise. otherwise, this girl keeps warm in her microfleece PJs!

I'm getting breast forms for sleeping soon.

I may be the odd one here, but everyday is full makeup and styling my own natural hair. (work, home or wherever)

The only things I do not wear around the house on a daily basis are my DT pads and breast forms.

On the weekends it's full pads and forms wherever I am until it gets about 95 and humid.

I have long hair so I don't need a wig. I sometimes wear make-up but most of the time I do wear lipstick And I don't need to be alone as my wife is very cool with my dressing. And dress about 90% of my time at home. Even for bed.:hugs:

I enjoy getting all dressed up. My time dressed include breast forms, padded panty girdle, skirts, heels and hose. I also always have makeup on and my wig. The longest amount of time I have dressed was ten days. The worse part, besides being stuck inside, was the wig.

I have done home projects dressed and then it is just jeans and a tee shirt but still wearing makeup and a wig.

I am bald so I have no choice on the wig. I wish I cold get away with my own hair but that idea faded many years ago.

Years ago I could get away with light makeup but now days I need it or when I look in the mirror I do not like the reflection I see. To much of my male side looking back.

if im home and lazy...yes...i will sometimes not do my makeup...but i wear makeup most days unless i partied too hard the night before ...i may dress a bit bummy too in just my sweats...but hey sweats are cute too xoxo oh...i will add this too....some days when i just dress at home , its a good time (for me) to try out new outfits, and new combinations, see how they look, and then save them for another day "out" .

I pretty much dress just like Tina does when I am home. I live alone so it is not an issue. I dress from the neck down. Over time I have even gone to bed dressed wearing bra breast (PALS) garter belt stockings and night gown. I do not go outside dressed this way. When I leave my house I am completely made up head to toe ready for a day out. I do not go anywhere around where I live dressed en femme. Too much chance of running into someone that I know.

If I'm just dressing at home, I usually don't bother with make-up or wig. If I want to take a daring stroll to the mailbox at the end of the driveway, I'll throw on my wig to cover the baldness so that I at least pass from a distance.

Unless I have a whole day that I know I won't be disturbed I don't wear anymore and makeup Eyeshadow and lipstick. Of course along with that panties bra breast forms maybe some earrings. I love to wear my heels but around the house they're a bit cumbersome so I usually stay with Flats. Fortunately my hair is long and I fashioned it to whatever my mood . I have a limited wardrobe so it's either my silk nightie jeans or a skirt.

Generally, panties/bra/forms, dress or skirt & blouse, heels, lipstick. Occasionally add toenail color and even less occasionally makeup, and very rarely fingernails. Don't have a wig and don't have much desire for one.

When I dress at home, which it not often, I always want do heels, wig, and make-up. I just don't feel as fem if I dress with out. My time to dress in the last two years has declined in a large way, so recently I have dressed just with the clothes but it is not the same. While it is work and sometimes I do a better job than others, I love doing my make-up.

Although I'm a very hard core CD, I don't dress at home. I'm at home only in the evenings, always out during the day. I start off the evenings by cooking dinner which can be a bit messy in my case. Then after dinner work on my hobbies for a few hours which can also get messy. No use soiling up my good CD outfits. With the excepetion of going to work however, I always dress up fully every time I go out. I never miss an opportunity to do that!

I sort of interpreted the inquiry as to "what others may do" to mean as in accomplished. When I do dress for the day which is about seven hours I always wear a dress. I do not own any feminine pants. From inside out it is a bra, panty, slip, stockings with a garter girdle, heels and dress. I forego the makeup, but, I do wear a wig. My wife is still working outside the home and I'm retired. So, many of the domestic chores fall on me: vacuuming, laundry, ironing, change bed linens, meal preparation, etc. As a child of the fifties and sixties, I follow the lead of June Cleaver of "Leave It to Beaver." It's always a dress and heels.

I am similar to others and like to wear something like a dress, stockings, bra, jewellery and hair. I couldn't get dressed without a wig otherwise I don't feel the same at all. Sometimes wear lipstick and mostly never wear heels around the house as they are too uncomfortable.

I never understood the use of the word 'girls' as to refer to breasts. Or 'boys' for the reference to testicles. Doesn't make any sense. ......... .

depends on what I'm doing. Like this morning...took off my gown as I got out of bed and put on a Danskin top and denim short shorts. Sitting here working and so dressed. When I go out to the barn later, I'll put on a different t shirt with a sports bra under and jeans. I don't bother with makeup...haven't for years. Daily wear is what you see in the avatar. Just plain drab fem if you will but still fem.

Back before I transitioned in 81, I came home everyday from work and changed into something fem with full makeup and curled my shoulder length hair. Wife was very happy with me being as fem as possible when not at work or with family.

Its not what your wearing, it are you comfortable wearing it...

I just dress in clothes usually. I put on shoes, lipstick and earrings (clip-ons), depending on how much time I have to dress. Time can vary between 30 minutes to several hours, so the amount of makeup varies accordingly.
I get the most satisfaction from panties, bras, and stockings.

Interesting to read the wide variety of what our members do. So far, all I've done at home is mostly just the clothing (complete inside to out) but seldom do the wig. I guess I'm not a fan of my current wig. Fortunately, my wife isn't put off by a female body with my male head. ;)

On the very rare occasions that my SO decides to put on feminine clothing at home, she also does not bother with makeup. Or the silicone breast forms, hip pads, and waist cincher. She does have super lightweight foam pads to slip into a bra so the top will hang right. And there is never a need for a wig because my SO has long hair past his shoulders that he wears tied at the nape in guy mode. In girl mode, she just wears her hair loose. It's all about comfort at home.

Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I might to the whole smash, or just lounge around in lingerie. There used to be a nightclub in my town that I could dress and go to- but it did a crash and burn. It was fun while it lasted. So now I get to stay put, or track down a new place. That may mean doing some traveling- nuts.

Tina:

Back in the day, when I first started, I would dress all the way up when I was able to take a day at home; this was mostly because these times were so few and far between. Later, as I got more time (especially when I became a widower and had the house to myself) I would dress every day, but not in full: I would wear panties, bra and breastforms, women's clothing (including shoes) and a wig. Nowadays, I am back to having very little time to dress--and I did a tragic purge a few years back in which I dumped all my wigs, clothing, shoes, makeup, breastforms and all--so now I can't do what I did, but when I do dress it is still panties, bra (stuffed with cloth) and women's clothing. I will get back into light makeup--not full foundation and all that, but lipstick for sure.

Without wig or makeup? Nope. When I dress it's en-total. Starting with a close shave...all over, moisturizer, scented hand lotion, a touch of perfume, selections of lingerie, and attire, wig, last my nails. I know it's out of fashion, but I always wear some form of hose...nylon stockings with a garter belt or OBG, or thigh highs, or pantyhose, a waist cincher...sometimes I'll change...thigh his are my favorite...Hanes Silk Reflection. I have many wigs. I usually wear flats or low heels. Hip and butt pads are a great asset. My silicone breast forms are wonderful....so realistic. Actually, I have two sets of bras and breast forms...D cup and A cup...with breast forms for both. Yes, dressing for me is a carefully deliberate process. I'm always wearing panties, a bra and hose.

Unfortunately, I'm never home alone, at least not for long enough to have any fun.

Besides my DADT relationship with my wife, my adult daughter lives down stairs, and I never know when she will be back.

I don't think I've been alone going on 3 years now. But that doesn't stop me from a little underdressing, a little undersleeping, and having my toe nails painted.

I am not so big on heels Although I will where them around the house but seldom out unless I am clubbing it, which isn't much these days. But I do like make up and always where it if I am going to dress. It might be more garish if I am just around the house and I'll tone it down for the mall.

At home I go all the way. I usually wear a corset, camisole, panties, stockings with the garters from the corset, bra with forms, dress or skirt and blouse, makeup, wig, and high heals. Oh I also like press-on nails, pink. I spend the time wandering the house practicing walking, I don't do any dishes or cleaning I have ruined too many blouses and dresses. I will change outfits a few times, no since in going through all this work if I can't try on a few (at least) outfits. Brenda

The only reason I don't go the whole nine yards at this time is because I'm still in the process of rebuilding from a purge (I'll NEVER do that again!). That being said, once I have everything In place, anytime I have enough alone time I intend to go all the way, including wig, heels, hose and makeup. I just love the feeling and any makeup practice I can get is a good thing.

Sure, I do it all the time ... just wish my own hair was long enough to eliminate my wigs.
If I'm home and not going out I don't usually wear makeup, just as I'm sure most women don't. It doesn't change how I feel about myself, it's just less time consuming.

Dressing up whilst others are home nearly all the time is usually a hurried time. Wife is DADT and family members aren't aware I crossdress and it wouldn't be good timing now to come out of the closet (may never be). Even behind a locked door it is hard to pick a time when someone won't come knocking or arrive at the front door these days. Even having been careful I have had a few very near misses, so I'm always nervous and conscious of how quickly I might need to undress and hide the evidence. That said, at home I love to dress up in a range of sexy panties, high heels, bras, satin slips, home made breast forms, corsets, sometimes lipstick and always stockings or pantyhose. Although I hardly ever get the time to put on makeup, in the past when I had less stress and more time alone to dress up uninterrupted, I have occasionally gone the whole way with makeup, wig, earrings, necklace and shoulder bag. I have to say that finding and taking the time to put on full makeup, perfume and a wig really completes the sensual feminine look and feel like nothing else does for me. On a couple of occasions in the past I have have managed to dress up and fully transform then go out shopping by myself to a couple of lingerie and ladies wear shops, where I was able to try on garments and the SAs were very helpful and more than happy to fit me like any other female customer. The added accessory items and time (nearly 2 hours) it took me to carefully get the clothes and makeup applied as best and as naturally as possible to hide my male features, when it is very hard for me to to pass, was more than worth the effort. After applying makeup and wig to my lingerie, high heels, blouse and skirt I was terrified going outside but I felt so free and sexy when walking around inside a gorgeous female disguise, almost like it was no longer me. Unfortunately, even with a few hours preparation I still can't pass closeup, but that lovely overall sensation of being transformed fully is so addictive.

For me, the usual outfit includes bra, forms, panties, hose, skirt, blouse, pumps or flats and occasionally a wig. I always wear my femme watch and a bracelet as well as a pair of rings. My makeup is usually restricted to lipstick only.
