Iconic Pink Dress

At my last burlesque group practice we were coming up with a possible new act for our group. One of the girls says she wanted to do a boy act where all the girls get to wear fake mustaches. They have been very accepting of me dressing en femme for our other acts I said I was more than happy to do a boy act with them.

In response the original one who suggested mustaches says "Oh No! We will be the boys and you can be the girl. I was thinking Marilyn Monroe and Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend. You can sing and we'll be your back up dancers in tuxes."

Then we spent about ten minutes discussing choreography and I said I'd look for a karaoke version of the song. Suddenly we had the start of a pretty cool act. Honestly, I did not even hint at this. It was all the girls idea.

How lucky am I? This is the dress I will have to have made for the act. Hoping to have a completed act by October for our local burlesque festival.

That sounds fantastic! I love hearing about your burlesque experiences. I would love to try burlesque someday. I just don't know if I could find as accepting of a group as you have.

I don't think I've ever seen a show or performers who wouldn't be accepting. You could certainly email the instructor before class to check with them. You really should try it, it's amazing.
