View Full Version : Here's a crazy idea...or "Imagine by John Lennon"

Screeech, Ok, scratch the John Lennon bit, nice but doesnt really lead into this.
Kidding aside though, I've read so many news articles and even a few posts from GGs pushed too far by incredibly disrespectful (and in some cases that puts it mildly) SOs that portray 'US' Enchanted Forestians in a bad light and it made me think "I kinda get it, now how can we change it"
Made me think of the Freemasons, basic requirements to enter are pretty straight forward (of course there's more than this but getting to the point)
1. Be a man at least 21 years of age.
3. Have high morals.
4. Have an educated understanding of Freemasonry.
Now for US:
1. Be a non-gender conforming person at least 21 years of age.
3. Have high morals.
4 . Have an educated understanding of the LGBT community.
Ok, not sure about #2 (taken out of context so I deleted it) as a requirement but #3, that's the key to getting the ring! If there was a respected organization like this for US...yah, crazy idea?

Robin, Yeah, high morals is probably number one. Then we would not see some of the problems here lately. However humans have free will and some push it to the limits. Then goes the morals.

Pretty sure the late great Mr Lennon would be outraged by your inclusion of number 2.

Any more discussion of #2 and this thread will be done.

Gonna bring the macho to this. I live near Philadelphia. For those not in the US we have a bad reputation as a city that has hooligan type fans. In the past, a few, have done some stupid things but it has always been just a few. Now these stupid fans have never done anything that hasn't happened in other cities but for whatever reason we have this reputation. Last night, less than 200 out 19000 stupid people threw wrist bands on the ice during our playoff hockey game. Now the national media starts again, "See its those crazy Philly fans, blah blah blah".
Long story short, a reputation is a hard thing to shake. There are lot's of things to do to make us more acceptable but yes changing hearts and minds one girl at a time is the only way.

Hell-o Robin,
Your list sounds great. (And I love Lennon) but then again.....
Hell, really, it's just another list of rules!
Community is all inclusive... No???
Much Love,
Kristyn

Absolutely all inclusive, OK, ditch the rules but you still have to shovel your senior citizen neighbors walks to let them know WE'RE actually really nice people...oh, and love John Lennon tunes 😉

Would Boy Scouts count, for the US, as a high moral organization?
I am an Assistant Scoutmaster.

I've never done Ellis with a set of rules anyway. I agree with Gabby it has to start with one gal at a time and maybe only rule number one and to me leave out the LGB and be only the T. Y'all don't stone me for changing the number 4 rule. I really try and live life with the let every one live their own life or Let It Be.
I do like high morals and believe we'd already be accepted if we all had them. It's kind of like a few motorcycle gang members. Not all of them are bad folks just because they ride a Harley.
I've always thought there's nothing different in me than any male other than the style of clothing I enjoy wearing.
Can I have my ring now....

And a physician too Ellen (I was almost an MD, I have serious respect)! OK, I'll grant you a ring 😉
@Jaylyn it's really all about being a positive influence to the community and a genuinely 'nice' person...and if you ride a Harley at the same time...you get two rings! 😉
