I have been spending much of the week in downtown Atlanta at a long training meeting. Very interesting to observe the GGs in a high end enviroment coming and going from large office bldgs down there. Tons of them are wearing those dress pants suits these days. Sprinkled among those, but fairly rare none the less are Ladies in conservative dresses/skirts with hose.

Yesterday at lunch myself and two coworkers went down the block to grab lunch. Suddenly among all the conservative women as we came back to the entrance of our building was a little young (20s) GG dressed like a Tgirl!!! She had a tight top and a very short mini skirt on. Tall heels and of course hose. With her long straight blonde hair and that outfit everyone was sneaking peaks at her.

She caused a minor disturbance...LOL...it was really a hoot. But it got me thinking she really was dressed as if she were a Tgirl going to the Stage Door Bar for a Sat Nite of clubbing. I really think a CD would have gotten no more reaction from the crowd. Perhaps often when we get attention out in public its more the outfit than perhaps us immediately being read.

Chck out my profile. I wore what you see to a crowded mall on a Saturday, and had the time of my life!

Deidra,

Your exactly right about what we may wear attracting attention.

Im already a little self concious(sp) ? about my size, so when I do try passing in the mainstream crowd, its dress like the average gg as best I can.

Now clubbing,,, anything goes LOL

I remember a group of us walking into a Nashville club with one tall girl wearing a latex nurses outfit, I gaurantee nobody saw what I was wearing LOL.

For those that arnt shy about attention,, your lucky so enjoy!
Me,, I guess I will just always be the conservative suburb CD :)

She would not have got that much attention mid town ;)

Speed is important. Go faster or slower than everyone else, you get noticed.

Being part of the corwd is also important. Being part of the flow of people in busy office centre and only the people around you notice you. Move against the flow or across the flow and everyone looks to see who is being a deviant / rebel :)

Maybe it was T-Girl out for a nice afternoon lunch and obviously alot of attention. Confidence is important to all of us in any situation.

Deidra,

You are absolutely right. It is the outfit that attracts attention first. The thing to remember is that a little attention can actually be a fun thing. I wear conservative skirt suits and hose and heels in major malls and even on MARTA travelling downtown. I like to think that the looks I get are mostly admiration. Whatever the looks are, it really doesn't matter to me, because I am wearing something I like.

So when are you going to get dressed like one of these smart office women and go out in the light of day to some straight place with some of our friends? For something really fun, wear a skirt suit into the Varsity restaurant....

Clothing makes a big difference. Whether you want to blend in or stand out, as long as you understand what you're clothes are saying, that's the important thing.
