OK so what is it that makes you look and feel the most fem about yourself? Is it a dress? heels? or maybe you just naturally feel fem anyway :) for me its hair and makeup. whatever yours is I'd love to hear :)

Hello :-),
Make up is of course essential, but for me is the mixing of all elements, make up + dress + heels, certainly it is also me, and my naturale feminine feelings.
It might be me, but i think you can have the best make up artist in the world, the best clothes advisor in the world, but if you dont feel feminine within your inside, there is nothing you can do..you wont be very feminine anyway....
Btw you are amazing Nicole...

For me it's freshly shaved legs, moisturized and completely smooth, in a pair of sheer hose. Add a cute dress and a pair of killer pumps and I'm reveling in my femininity!
If I looked as good from the neck up as you do, I might have to modify my answer! ;)

To look feminine, I agree with you that hair and makeup are the difference makers. But it is a collection of elements that brings it together and the most important is attitude.

Hi Nicole,
Well, as your hair & make-up are always immaculate, I'm not surprised that is what makes you feel & look the most fem. For me, I think things have changed as my CD'ing has evolved - putting a dress on over bra, panties & stockings used to give that femme feeling then I bought a wig & got some make-up which created that further illusion of femininity. After a while though, I felt I needed to try to complete that picture so bought some shoes (stillettoes) & that moved things on from looking to feeling fem. However, by the end of last year, my make-up skills weren't producing the feminine look that I was hoping for so decided I need to get a professional makeover to see if there really was a feminine face underneath that 50 year old male persona - if there wasn't then that was going to leave me questioning if I should pursue my CD calling if I was going to always see a man in a dress staring back at me from the mirror. To be honest, it took a second makeover to convince me & now I need to be able to successfully bring that girl back to life so, ultimately I suppose for me it will be the make-up but for now, while I'm slowly improving my make-up skills, I think it is when I put my latest wig on which I know brings to life the girl inside when combined with the right makeover. Apologies for the long-winded reply but the answer has evolved as has the character & understanding about what makes Molly come to life.
On top of that though, Jennifer & Gilda also make very valid points:
To look feminine, I agree with you that hair and makeup are the difference makers. But it is a collection of elements that brings it together and the most important is attitude.

Actually when i am feminine, it is the essence of being able to reflect yourself. Attitude, yes. Yesterday had on bra, see through flowered orange top, Hair in a pony tail, green skirt that matched perfectly and ankle heeled boots. I was comfortable with no makeup. Yet feminine and I looked like a woman. So, the reflection sometime requires makeup, but when you are feminine all you need to do is be able to reflect it in your way. By the way when I do put makeup on I feel so feminine.

Nicolex,
The clothes are secondary , makeup just enough to lose the beard but the wig is the make or break , to me that's when the man disappears .
I tried an experiment once , just got made up with a wig on, drab clothes, no forms and slipped some heels on, the result still looked female . If you try the other way round get fully dressed nice heels but no makeup or wig and take a picture, when you view it mask off above the neck again it looks female.
The factor is changing the head and face, and it doesn't take as much as you think to achieve a femme look .
As for feeling femme , then yes wearing a nice outfit after shaving my body really does satisfy my needs .

For looking fem I have to go with a wig and heels. However when it comes to feeling feminine, oddly enough sometimes when I have been shopping in drab and an SA isparticularly helpful once she knows I am shopping for myself I really feel it. I think it's because I can let my guard down and open up to someone. I get a chance to talk about what I'm looking for and get treated like any woman coming in to shop.

No, I need a bit of help. When I'm in male clothing, behaving as a 'standard issue male', I feel like I'm in the wrong clothes, I can see it, and feel the difference. So, for me, it's a combination of seeing and feeling: The feminine long hair w/clips, tied, ribbon or maybe braided, perfume, jewelry, girl clothes, nail polish, girl shoes, and even girl eyeglasses. It all contributes to experiencing, feeling and seeing things that GG's do, and gives me visual, olfactory, and tactile feedback that says 'girl'. I might not really know what it's like to actually BE a girl, but I know a lot of what it looks and feels like to be dressed and behave like one.

For me it is dressing and the makeup and going out made up with bra and tops is ok with my other half and makes me feel great also.

Well there is looking fem and there is feeling fem. To look fem I need a small miracle or at least a lot of make up padding and suitable attire. After all that I am still 6ft 8inches in heels with hands like shovels. To feel fem I just need to be me. :heehee:

I think the critical points depend on making yourself as different from your masculine self. I think it was Heather who had thread "I look like a girl"-so for her, it may be just clothes.
For me, I think makeup hides the masculine me the most, as my body is already in good feminine shape. My hair is not as long as it was in the late 70's, but I can style it like Jamie Lee Curtis to look fem as long as I have makeup on. But the wig is a close second to me to make a difference.
You do ask about feel fem, but seeing oneself in the mirror or feeling sensations like hose/heels/perfume/forms does depend on external changes. Shopping for clothes and shoes via online or catalog can make me feel fem, as well as chatting with the girlfriends here!

Feeling fem and being convincing to ohers is really hard for me in fact virtually impossible given my size but I do love my time as Amanda as it comnects me to a very important part of me regardless of how enfem I get at one particular point or another.

For me, its almost all of the above, but I never had body hair, and don't need to shave my legs (I do my arms) at my age. But I only need to wake up and sit on the bedside to feel feminine as I look at my moobs (A size) and then caress them and cup and lift them in my hands. The look evolves as I get dressed in all of my Pretties, add forms, a wig and makeup. I love becoming the girl that lives in my heart!

Definitely keeping my face shaved. I could dress to the nines but if I see a beard in the mirror I certainly don't see a female.

Yes, Lisa said what I would say. I've been dressing completely for some time. My supportive wife continues to help me. Now, when I'm dressed, I say, "well?" This last weekend, she's had few if any commentary. When I turn and look at our full length mirror, and, like Lisa, just smile. I'm at the point that dressing enfemme is so natural. I'm always wearing underneath when circumstances require. Yes, I enjoy everything. 👠👗💄😊

For me, the minimum I need to feel I am 'in girl mode' is my wig, breast forms and makeup, plus keeping my face and body smoothly shaved. Bear in mind that even in male mode, I have pierced ears with earrings and acrylic nails done 24 x 7. And I can flip to a passable female voice, attitudes and mannerisms fairly easily.
Hip pads, a good gaff, and feminine clothes can certainly help make the whole presentation more fun and believable. But I could be in all male clothing and still pull off 'she's a girl, of course!' reactions from others as long as I have my wig, makeup, breast forms and am well shaved.

Well, I am still in the closet due to no wig or make up! (to be resolved in Sept.!) My most feminine moment was (and it is hard to believe!) wearing knee highs with my feminine flats and drab jeans. I looked down at my feet with the flats and knee highs and had such a feminine feeling rush over me! It was incredible! That's all. Hugs Lana Mae

When I find a truly femme look for myself, I'll let you know Nicole. With my mug, I suspect makeup and hair will be a big part of it.

For me it's definitely hair, that's the biggest thing, it almost doesn't matter what I wear having my hair at a decent length foes a lot to male me feel feminine. Clothes come second, a thought out outfit is always nice.

Many things make me feel femme.
I love the feeling of soft delicate fabrics on my hairless body.
The tiny soft lace g string.
The full make up with smooth skin, long lashes and face glitter.
The long perfect mani/pedicure.
The high heel sandals.
The wavy long hair.
The floral perfume.
There's too many to mention....

I would have to say it is a bit of everything.
Just hanging out at home in high heels I feel fem enough, especially standing and walking on the back patio for a smoke and drink. It doesn't cause me to act fem, just in walking and standing.
But that is just in regular shorts and shirt in heels, not dressed up.
Between makeup, wig, and a dress it is tough to say which kicks most the female feeling.
Neat question and thoughts.

The art of looking feminine to me is knowing how to alter/hide the 9-10 masculine male features that nasty testorone makes crossdressers and TG deal with.I have to Create an Illusion.
Brow bossing, hairline, lip fullness, lip perch are lip roll ,facial fat content vs muscle, fat prominent cheek bones, conical jaw to chin line, non square chin and jaw,eye size and space between eyes and brow,hi arch /higher brows, space between top lip and bottom of nose, inner eye slant, adams apple and neck decollette. Last but not least non eye, cheek and lip prominence.womens eyes, lips and cheeks are more prominent.
Some you can give an illusion with makeup and some FX makeup and some you need tape and are glue.
Others you would need surgery if older and hormone change if younger.
