I had an odd and impromptu opportunity to dress last night. I didn't go as full on as I usually do, but I still had a ton of fun. Lately, my wife's be working on sewing a beautiful dress for herself for an upcoming Steampunk convention, but due to lack of funds, she doesn't have a dress form. Enter, Alice! She was working on bustling the skirt last night and was getting very frustrated working on her lap, so I offered to be her dress form again. Since I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, I told her that I should go slip into something more form fitting. I just grabbed my black leggings and a black camisole, then on goes the dress! All in all, it wasn't a wholly unpleasant experience, I do enjoy putting on fancy clothes. I was actually surprised how well the dress fit me, too, considering it was measured and tailored to her!

Wow I never have heard that very much in today's times..... Lol not your dressing and being a form for the wife but a wife that knows how to sew. My wife used to sew around 40 to 50 years ago but I think she has misplaced her sewing machine somewhere.
Glad you had a good time and hang on to your lovely sewing wife, sounds like she's a keeper.

I agree, Jaylyn, she is a keeper! She learned to sew from her mother, who would sew costumes and whatnot for them.

Happened to me a couple times when I was a bout 15 and skinny. My mother at times altered dresses for neighbor's prom nights and special occasions. Sometimes I would try it on again when mom was gone.

Sounds wonderful your helping out, maybe she'll make you an outfit, my mother used to sew, she was quite a seamstress I grew up with patterns and bolts of cloth everywhere, I used to help her with little things but once the hormones kicked in "boy's don't sew" so..., I wish I would have shown more interest. I do have her newest machines, maybe I'll take classes, I do remember some little "tricks" she showed me. I do have a dress form but I don't think it opens to my size.
