View Full Version : CD only: how much do you dress during a week

This is a take off on a thread by Jorsephine, whe mentioned dressed 80% of the time.

This is not for those who are on a transition path or daily venture out in female mode. This is for those who are not in a DADT relationship and can dress at home.

The question is how often do you really dress during a typical week.

My first idea was heck I dress a lot and then realized, this was not scientific at all. For example, is the 80% dressing of the 24 hrs in a day, or of the waking hours.

I find my dressing is limited by
-- contractors coming
-- family members planned visits
-- helper coming over during the day
-- having to complete walking the dogs
-- having to wait for wife to wake up

Don't dress outside home, and kids know of but don't see dressing. Lately dressing is during work at home times except when any of the above are on the schedule.

So my 50% dressing, is more like 20% max. Just looking for some feedback on how this compares to your typical experience.

Usually one to twice weekly during the Summer when kids are home from school. Rest of the year, about 3 times weekly. Nikki

I m retired and no kids. So, I generally dress four out of seven days but lately had to go out male as my GF has a friend that is dying of cancer and we go see her every other day. But typically I am about 60/40 female/male.

Work has a uniform
After work, normally an hour in skirt while I do dinner, then sports leggings from 6 pm until bed time when at home or when walking the dog.
Wife has asked me not to dress to girly while Miss 23 is home, hense the above limitations.
On the weeks Miss 23 goes home, I tend to fully dress twice a week, often to go shopping / movies or just chilling at home with wife & kids.

Fully dressed is about 10% of spare time
half dressed about 40%
Work and other commitments make up the other 50%

My male clothing I consider a uniform of sorts, to do whatever tasks I need to do when I'm in the public eye. I come home, I take off my 'uniform' and put on casual clothes; in this case, casual means female. As I'm closeted, that means that whenever I'm staying at home, I'm completely attired as a girl; clothes, wig, accessories, occasionally nail polish if I'm going to be staying in a few days, rarely make up. If I'm going back out, that means putting my 'uniform' back on.

In a week? hahaha. Since having kids I'm lucky to get dressed up once every couple of months.

Every evening after work and all day Sunday if I'm home.

In total I spend around 30-35 hours a week in male clothes and even then always panties and sometimes tights. When I get up in the morning I take off my nightdress and dress fully except make up and wig. Shave and have breakfast in this outfit. On work days or when I go to the shops or have visitors change out of most of it. Then on returning home shower and change into my bra and the rest always a skirt or dress. Sometimes lipstick but full make up and wig only for going out which I rarely do now - used to go out 2-3 days a month now that in a year. I have done everything I wanted so now on a very nice plateau dressing in lovely clothes 80% of the time.

Most morning I get a couple of hours, 5am to 7am before work.

Then I will get some time on the weekends. So on average I would say probably about
15 to 20 hours per week.
The rest of the time is all guy mode.

That's about my schedule. A bit more in the mornings usually. Then some evenings and weekends. Rarely go all out - only clothes and lipstick. Sometimes will do full makeup and hair with jewelry. Always wedges or pumps!

I usually only dress 5 am to 8 am before the wife wakes up and I don't out only to get the dogs in once in a while, but I live in the country with no close neighbors so it works. Just a dress or night gown something I can throw on.

Since wife does not know, I normally get a hour or so in panties and a bra early in the am while she is still asleep. I don't fully dress unless she goes out for several hours. That can be weeks without dressing but boy when she goes, I can't wait!

About once a week because, there is too much other stuff to do.

It's been a very steep and frustrating downward spiral for me of late. Although I'm retired and my wife is fine with me wearing whatever I choose around the house, we've been in a situation where family members and others are at our home on a regular basis. Add to that my activities outside the home, and I literally have NOT worn a skirt or dress for going on two months now. Not happy about that, but my life involves a lot more than dressing as I please.

Prior to this, in a given week, I'd likely be in skirts or dresses for the majority of the day 3 or possibly 4 times a week.

Hi, I'm new here. I've only recently been in a position to indulge. I'm very inexperienced especially in the application of make-up. Up till now I've only dressed on a handful of ocassions (mostly no wig or make-up). For the most I dressunder and only a few times per year so my current situation is wonderful. I dressunder to work and add when I get home depending on what I need to do this ranges from a top, skirt and heels to bra, boobs, crappy wig and a stab at some make-up.

Lisa,

I know you were trying to make a bandpass filter by limiting it to non-TS, non-DADT, but since you did not filter out total closet, you ended up with a Chebyshev's filter instead ;)

I don't dress much at home anymore, and only about once a month, maybe twice. When I dress, I tend to go out., but I don't count, since I am in a "mostly" DADT. She knows but doesn't want to.

Yeah I AM that much of a nerd, and old enough to know what analog is.

It has been a good month if I have been able to dress at all. My wife is ok with it, and she has seen me dressed a handfull of Times. But I dont want to force it, so I just dont Ask for permission, I wait till she brings it up. So that kinda Limits my activities.

Louise.

I guess it depends on your definition of "dressed." Panties only? If yes, I'm dressed 90% of the 24 hour day, year round. Full on: undergarments, hosiery, forms, dress (skirt/top), heels, wig, makeup, accessories? A couple times a year, max.

Reading the responses got me to thinking about what one person might consider dressing.

I wear girl undies all the time, every day but I don't think of it as dressing. It's just the underwear I have... especially since their pretty generic cotton undies. They aren't Victoria Secret, 30 dollar a pair lace trimmed bikinis. Nope... just cotton/spandex boy shorts. My wife doesn't mind me wearing girl undies or girl cut skinny jeans. She thinks both the undies and the jeans look better on me rather than baggy, bunched up boxers or boxy men's jeans. The reason they fit better is because I'm short.... like really short and kinda small so she feels those clothes fit me better. I think so too. I don't know if it's the cut, the material or who knows. Also, and maybe it's psychological, but I feel like they're more comfortable, too.

Anyway... I guess I don't really view that as dressing because... well, I'm not sure why. I guess because nobody sees my underwear. The girl jeans I wear are rather generic (no pocket embroidery) so they kinda look like guy jeans. And when I wear yoga pants or tights around the house... well, my wife doesn't say anything about me looking like a girl (even with my dangly bits slightly tucked) so I guess that's why I don't really think of that as dressing either.

I don't know.

Anyway, to answer the original question... my idea of dressing which is full blown, makeup, forms, heels, etc is only about two to three times a year but I guess the undies and boy-makeup I wear almost every day is enough to keep the pink fog away. sorry for the long response.

omg, I dress daily, I get up get dolled up before work, I work the afternoons so I can spend my mornings as Kendra, when its time to go to work, put on the boy crap uggghhhhhhhly, and nauseating as it is, do my thing at the job, get back as quick as I can, then presto kendras home..lol, so id say 7 days a week, dressed..

Every day..every night. The only time I have to revert to the drab mode is if I have to leave the property.
Dressing for me includes makeup, wig, complete outfit (whatever I am in the mood for wearing), undergarments, forms, hoisery, and shoes.
Accessories (jewerly and bag) round it out.
I own about 3 or 4 pair of men's underwear which are worn exculsively for things like medical appointments, etc.
Vassarrette Undershapers in a variety of colors and cuts are daily wear.

3 or 4 days a week for a little bit after work, as my activities permit. That is on average. It varies quite a bit but averaged out I would say that much. Not full dressing though. I rarely do that. On rarer occasions if my wife is away for the day or longer, I will indulge longer and more fully.

Since I work out of home, I dress daily. If I have to go out, I decide if I can remain dressed or not, but always panties and a bra. Sometimes hose, but they're still unfashionable (sad), but sometime I wear them any way.

Samantha Clark
08-09-2016, 12:51 PM
I'll slip through the filter too, FWIW. My wife isn't DADT, but just doesn't want to see. I dress in panties and hose every day. Get fully dolled up (my wife's words) once or twice a month. Sometimes those are multiple day stints like this last weekend and, coming up, a week trip to DC.

Lisa,

Yeah I AM that much of a nerd, and old enough to know what analog is.

HOOT! I'm glad I'm not the only old nerd around. Pre-digital I used to own and operate slide rules (had at least three, expensive wood one and a couple plastic ones).

At the moment, about once a month, i just came out to the girlfriend. So i'm trying to make her comfortable by holding back a bit.
Before she knew, it was around once a week. But if I dress, I always go all out, full make-up, wig, underwear, clothes, heels...

Painted toenails 100%! Panties Every day and all night everynight (only 4-5 hours daytime)! Nightgown every night!! Wear female plain tee shirts mixed with male tee shirts hard to estimate and varies!! Fully dressed(minus wig and makeup-do not have yet) 1-4 times a week as the mood strikes and dependant on male tasks (closeted for now)! The more the better!!! Hugs Lana Mae

Fully dolled up, 2 or 3 times a month. Panties at night several nights a week. Often too tired, worn out, depressed. Still have difficult issues with family after my dad died, Waiting to see if I am given any money from my dad's accounts. If i do, i hope to move where my cruel nazi brothers can't find me.

This is for those who are not in a DADT relationship and can dress at home.
I'm not sure why you have limited responses to those not in a DADT relationship. Do you think that DADT is too limiting to be able to dress frequently?

Not so. I'm out femme 4 or 5 days a week during 'business hours'. Wonderful arrangement that allows me to be femme during the day and a loving husband after hours. DADT although complex has some advantages.

Krisi
08-10-2016, 09:32 AM
We need a better definition of "dressing". To me, the definition is putting on women's clothes, boobs, wig, padded panties, etc. and trying one's best to look like a woman. Reading the responses above, this obviously isn't everyone's definition.

Since I'm retired, my dressing is probably different from most of the others posted here. I get up in the morning and dress as Krisi unless I'm going somewhere early in the morning. My wife is at the gym until noon or so. Sometimes I'll change back to Homer before she comes home, sometimes I will be Krisi all day long. It doesn't seem to bother her but I don't want to be Krisi in front of her all the time because I don't want her to think I've gone off the deep end.

I only go out as Krisi if she's out of town and I dress away from home so neighbors won't see a strange woman (or a tranny) leaving the house and driving away in our car.

To answer the question directly, I am normally fully dressed as Krisi four or more hours per day five or six hours per week.

I usually get an opportunity to dress in a bra & panties with a slip, stockings, and heels once or twice a week at most. Fully dressed is rare. Need to have the house to myself for that.

Usually once every two weeks. The most I've ever dressed at one time is about 5 hours. Generally I'm ok with this, but I star to get frustrated if I don't get my fortnightly fix.

Bra every day, all the time. I need the support.

Baby doll for bed every night, full makeup, suspender belt, stockings, heels etc. over the weekend.

Was married for 52 years. Revealed to bride who reacted with a shrug. Underdressed daily going to work and in the motel rooms on frequent business trips where I could add makeup for a few hours at night --- wife knew of drawers of lingerie but never dressed at home. Not DADT as never discussed. Then three years with widowed cousin who seemed to enjoy my inclinations as long as I never went out fully dressed - that was fun. After she came down with Alzheimer's and rest of family had passed I could become Julie 24/7 other than doctor appointments at VA.. Now the downside: Gave up my car two years ago at 89 to be prudent on Florida roads so depend on a lady and family to take Julie shopping. Not very convenient for this old lady accepted without a second glance at beauty shops, restaurants, departments stores and bathrooms. Second problem is that, though docs say I'm fine, the body is breaking down - or is it my mind telling me that? Then a dilemma. Plan to ship my remains back to Washington for a full air and ground military funeral. Wish it could be otherwise but will have to be in drab. So question is for me - and for many others - will I know in time to get ready since I'm all alone? Point, I guess, is even the best of times have a flip side.

Thank you all for most thoughtful responses. I didn't define dressing as I was looking for an inclusive range from just wearing a skirt/dress to the full treatment. Yes I did assume that DADT meant there would severe limitations on dressing time. I excluded fully time presenters and transitioning members as wanted to see what the range was for the more traditional definition of CD.

Some of the other threads seem to imply that any dressing less than 8 hrs a day is low frequency and was looking for more experiences.

Again, thank you so much for sharing. This whole experience has yet to feel "normal" so all your insights and experiences are priceless

I dress everyday except when at work and I underdress when there. Panties 24/7, nities to sleep in, girl shorts/skirts and tops around the house and to run errands. If I go out I usually wear a wig now. I go out on the weekend and dress all the way.

everyday for maybe 80% of the day, some days i don't though, i will be doing something and think "oh yeah i could be wearing comfortable clothes right now" but put it off for several hours. Sometimes i don't because it's very distracting and i need to focus on something. it's hot to wear a bra but i just can't get used to the sensation of it to want to wear it every day like i do panties. Bra's are also riskier in that the straps could be seen if you bend a certain way or if someone randomly gives you a hug....

i wear panties every day, it's gotten to the point that they are normalized in my mind, yet im still careful to not let them get exposed. It's nothing like the first time i wore them out, i felt like i was gonna get exposed at any moment.

Since my name was put out there, I will put my two cents back in. Like I have said in many of my replies, I am 75 yrs old and have dressed all my life, I got into the habit of watching women on how they dressed. So if the definition of dressing is put on every thing to the nines, what would you call the women of today when you see them in mens cloths. My wife has told me that less is better, so a lot of the time I wear flats, a skirt, tank tops with no bra but boobs stick on's, little make up, yes one of my wig have 3 favorite . I go every were, Sat is my day for the casino an I do look a lot better then most of the women there. If in my mind you want to look like a women, dress like them, they dress more like men, most of us girl will wear a skirt or a dress , very seldom do I wear slacks. Jo

My wife is a teacher. She is semi-retired. She works when she wants. There are days during the school year when I choose to be en femme five days a week. As an in-home cross dresser I can dress seven hours each day. I choose not to. But, when I do it is wig to high heels and everything in between; dress, slip, hosiery, bra, panty, heels and wig. There are many more times now that I know I can dress frequently that I forego dressing every available time.

This past fall my wife went out of state to visit a cousin for a week. i did do some days 24/7, but, I found I just felt more comfortable in my male cut off jeans and a well worn tee shirt with no socks and shoes.

Meghan made a good point about filtering the responses. How many hours would an in-home cross dresser dress if he was single? Or if there was an accepting wife?

My wife is a teacher as well, and still full time, I work at home, and have most mornings free. During the school year I try to dress a couple of times a month. Now that I am not happy unless I go all out I need a half day (at least 4 hours) to dress. I won't dress up if I don't have time to relax and take lots of photos, maybe go out and drive around.

Summer is tough, my wife and son are both home, so last week I actually bucked up $115 and got a decent little room at a local motel. That was fun!! It was nice to just have a different setting to take my photos in for a change. I was there about 6 hours. Went out and drove around, tried on different outfits, wigs, took hundreds pics, most of which I will delete.

So all in all I am trying to get two to three a month in when I can, but haven't been successful this year.

I'd probably say a couple times a month at most. Busy lifestyle keeps me on the go and doing things, but when I get that quiet evening with nothing going on and I'm in the right mood, I'll put something on!
