I finally got a return call from my Therapist the other day.
While we were on the phone, I told her about something that happened to me and she agreed that it is definitely high time we get the hormones going.
She informed me that she would be giving Dr. P. a call to have her finish what she needs to do so I can schedule my first visit with Endocrinology.
I should have the best news of my life week after next at my next therapy appointment on Monday.
My holding pattern finally seems to be coming to an end.

Great news, Emma! Get ready for an interesting ride. The first month you should see a few changes but the other stuff happens later. You should enjoy it all. Good luck.

And you are on your way... Hang on for the ride. Keep it going as slow as you can. You will benefit from it, if you are able to do it. Good luck!

Good luck with getting good news on the HRT. I have my 1st appt with the HRT doc this coming week. Bracing myself for disappointment however. My heart issues will probably contraindicate (medical term - can't do it ) Estrogen. Should be able to get spiro. Hoping to be surprised. Good Luck to both of us. Can't wait to read what the Endo doc tells you. I hope it is good news for you !!

Thank you everyone.
Kymberly, I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope you get great news at your appointment. I can only imagine what you must be going through. Hugs.
Everyone else, I already have my hands on the lap bar and I'm just waiting for that roller coaster to leave the platform.
As a side note. I was talking about breast development with my Mom the other day and I was telling her about what I can logically expect. I also explained to her that I most likely would need Breast augmentation to be more proportionate.
She shook her head and said that I would develop a C cup. My Mom and Sister are actually B Cup women. I smiled and giggled telling her that if I develop a C cup, then I have hit some kind of genetic jackpot and should play every Lottery I can. We had a laugh.
But seriously, I love my Mom and appreciate her wonderful optimism. She made me feel better when she insisted that I would be a C cup when all is said and done.

While I was at work, I received a phone call from my regular therapist.
She told me that the Dr. that did my evaluation turned in my full evaluation report last week and later this morning I will be going in to visit my Primary Care Provider to schedule my first appointment with Endocrinology at the VA. I hope to update with my appointment later today.
The reason I need to speak with my Primary is at the VA the Primary handles and coordinates all the different specialists that any patient sees. That way at least one Dr. knows exactly what is going on with the patient.
It's a bit of red tape, but it does work for the benefit of the patient in the long run.
It's just to bad they don't work with any of the surgeries for Trans care. They only do HRT through the VA. They don't even cover the Surgeries through the Choice card, which is the part of the system that allows a Veteran to go outside the VA Health care system for specialized care.

Been a real busy day today.
Last night my dog pulled my Mom off the stairs and she now has a broken patella on top of the humorous he broke about a month ago.
Mom is doing fine.
I went to the VA early this morning and spoke with my Clinic clerk to see about scheduling my appointment with Endocrinology.
She entered a few notes for my Primary Care Provider and informed me that since this isn't an "acute" situation, I would have to wait until October for my Dr. to meet with one of the Nurses and discuss my case and set up my first appointment with Endo.
It's just like when I tried to schedule psysical therapy for my broken finger back in January and was told that I couldn't see any one about that until September. With a 9 Month wait for physical therapy I told them to just cancel that.
That just goes to show how overwhelmed the VA Health care system truly is.
I'm just really sick of this waiting game. It seems like all I do is wait for others to tell me that it's finally alright to get the help I need, that I have already been waiting for in the first place. Especially since I'm not independently wealthy or anything like that.
