Best way to start a conversation. If she wanted to talk more with you, I think that she would have continued it. I always recommend that one starts a conversation about what is happening now, weather, products in the store, item of fashion, but do not go for the jugular in the first few sentences by saying it is nice to see a sister out and about.

Maybe it's the game and not the person? I think most people who play slots want to focus on the machine. If you want to be social, try roulette. My SO and I were in old Vegas having a girl's weekend this summer. We played roulette for an hour with four people from Scotland, and newlyweds from Green Bay - chatted the entire time.

I've dreamed of hitting a casino all dressed up.

Went to Vegas a few years back, I wanted a girls night out with my wife and brought a lot of fem cloths in case I was able to convince her. She cut me a deal that if we seen at least 3 sisters I would get my girls night out. I searched and searched I couldn't even find one. Unbelievable

Don't read any thing into her answer you might be mislead. She either wanted to concentrate on her game or maybe shy or even could have been her first time and was scared to talk.

Ya, that was a bad bet on your part. I was told I'll see all kinds in Vegas. "It's a wild and crazy place. What happens in Vegas ... blah blah." Nope. Looked and looked but never saw another CD on the Strip and Freemont Street. However, I was seen by a lot of red-neck, drunk tourists who tried to make me feel uncomfortable. Some were nasty, most stared and pointed. I consider myself to be passable (and I've been told by others and I dressed to blend) so I was surprised at the attempts to ridicule me while with my gg SO. I won't ever return to Vegas for a girls weekend, dressed or not.

I have run into ridicule in Vegas, too, Betty. Only from tourists, tho. Not the locals or staff. They've seen everything! That's important for safety reasons.

Tourists may make fun but r not likely to be aggressive because they r on holiday and not in their local element.

Just remember one important thing in Vegas: U r NOT allowed to take photos in front of the machines or gambling venues of the hotels. I got busted there last year for that!:thumbsdn:

I've been dressed several times in Vegas. Yep. I've seen 2 local girls and that's it. While at locations away from the tourists, it's like any other place. People are absorbed in their own thoughts and don't notice. On the strip, in the casinos or on Fremont St. People are there to see something different and so are looking around more.

Since many come from places where we might be murdered at the extreme or ostracized at the mean, we get the stares, smiles and dirty looks.

The locals, waitstaff and other service workers have treated me like any other woman and I appreciate that very much.

Many on this forum have been to Vegas and had a great time and felt comfortable. I submit that they are most likely not over 6 feet tall with a bull neck and huge shoulders. I think that if you have the right frame and and dress normally, most people would not notice. Also, being alone makes a difference. Most women in Vegas are not alone.

Funny enough though, sitting at a bar (height not noticeable) dressed in a tight, red, cashmere sweater (hard for me to find one not tight!), as I played video poker, a man sat next to me. He was a local and knew the bartender. He kept trying to flirt with me and flaunted his wealth. Wanted to buy me a drink (their free). Finally, I tired of being hit on and went to the ladies room.

Upon entering, two women my height were leaving while talking. One stared hard at me, making me very uncomfortable. Maybe she was a CD. In the bathroom, there were at least 8 women milling around. It had been a bad night so far and I was mentally freaking out with so many and having so many stares that night.

Oddly enough, I did my business, washed my hands and left without so much as a sideways glance from any gg. Go figure!

So, it's been my experience that people notice more in the tourist areas, especially if you are taller than 90% of the people.

I agree with the author that tourists are constantly looking around. Locals have a place to be, chances are they've walked that street before, and don't bother to look around. Still.

This is how I looked in Vegas. Not as much makeup as I usually have, but damn it was hot out! 266317

This is what I witnessed on Freemont Street. 266318
Really, the banana hammock dudes were getting the most positive attention.

Betty, What the heck is that person wearing in the background of your second picture? A banana hammock? Crikey, is this what they mean by photo bombed.

I was at Soaring Eagle Sat. Dressed I would talk to someone if they were sitting next to me or if I knew them. Did you know her and were you also dressed?
