Wife bought me an evening gown

My wife and I were at a goodwill shop looking around and she found a beautiful long black sleeveless evening gown. She showed it to me and said this is just your size, you should buy it! I declined, saying when would I ever wear it . We continued to look around and when we got to the checkout there was the black gown under clothes we had picked out for our daughter. My wife just smiled and said it really is a pretty dress. I would love to incorporate it into a Halloween costume. Any ideas for a floor length black sleeveless evening gown?

Now you need shoes of course! Don't get in a rut and think only black shoes either. Red is a great color with black especially with the required red purse. And don't forget earrings, bracelets, and a necklace. Girl, you've just started. Good luck and post a pic or three.

I love gowns. Long dresses are my favorite even though I think I have great legs. The feel of a long dress is the best.

I say GO BIG. Go elegant. Dress for the beauty pageant, and just go.

I'd maybe go to The Casino. I happen to know the area (Columbia) a little. [Just rode the Katy Trail and stayed in Rochefort, etc]. There's a casino in Booneville, I believe. Also, Columbia is a college town, for crying out loud. There are certainly some "friendly" clubs in such a community.

As a coincidence, my wife (knows, understands but not entirely cool with "it")... bought me a green dress I have been longing for all fall. I'd shopped that dress 3 or 4 times, almost in silence. Yesterday at the same store with the same dress still on the rack in my size, she says " This must have your name on it. It's still here." And she put it in the cart. I was flabbergasted.

Go for it, girl. Wish I could go with you. I'm back in Colorado. Good luck on a great and elegant night out.

Tiffany, gees girl, how cool is that. There have been a couple stories here as of late where the SO says that dress, skirt, etc would look good on you, or you should have that. I'd be in seventh heaven it my wife did that to me. I only have grudging acceptance if even that, and never a comment like that. I'd be in that dress be it at home or out in a heartbeat. And yes, the need to accessorize should be bring lots of fun.

I love wearing long dresses when the weather gets cool. Enjoy wearing it! What you need with it is some really long white gloves. red high heel shoes and a fancy necklace.

Gather up the hems and ruche it in various places so it hangs at an angle, buy fishnet stockings- they are super comfy, and black shoes,, add sparkles,bright red lips,iridiescent eye shadow, and a witches hat and you are good to go ! Your wife is helping- let her!!!!!

I found fishnet stockings fairly uncomfortable, they were fairly course so I had to wear smooth black stockings underneath, they're gone now and haven't bothered replacing them.
