Please Girls I need an advise. I'm going to know a new primary doctor and I need to know how to dress. The appointment is nine o'clock in the morning. South Florida. I need him to continue approving my referrals related to my transition. I need to give him a good impression but I don't know what to do.
HELP Please!

Going to the doctor would mean you are going for an exam of some kind. Depending on what the appointment is for. I wear different cloths. Most of the time I wear jeans or slacks or shorts and blouse. If the reason I am going requires to change for a treatment of some type. I would wear a simple shift so it is easier to change.

Im confused what the issue is... just wear what you normally do? I cant imagine youll be treated any differently if you're wearing normal stuff, or am I missing something?

I agree with Jane. Just go as you normally go anywhere else. Doctors do not need to be impressed. They need to impress you with their qualifications, empathy and good bedside manners where you are the most important person in the room. Also, since you are transitioning your doctor should not be the person you try to fool as to who you really are. You are paying them to provide a needed service to you. If they react negatively to you, they are not the doctor for you. Good luck and above all be honest with yourself and the doctor.

Wear what you feel. If you normally wear skirts wear that. I agree with Allie, the doctor needs to impress you, not the other way around.

From my own personal experience..... whatever you wear you must present fully as a woman. On my second appointment, to a British Gender Identity Clinic, the doctor was visibly impressed that I was dressed fully in role including the two hour trip each way on Public Transport, (train and underground). I had been told beforehand that I didn't have to dress as a woman for the visit, that it wasn't important, but it was! I can't say for sure how much it mattered but at the appointment's end he told me he was recommending my own doctor commenced hormone treatment. I was fully expecting to wait another year for him to do that because that is how long it takes over here.
Best of luck
Helen
