So Helen's on holiday and since starting last Monday hasn't worn any drab clothes. I set myself the challenge of pushing the envelope, doing things I'd not done before.
One thing I wanted to do was use public transport and on Tuesday I set out to travel by train. However all the slow drivers in the area took to the roads and I missed the train by minutes. So on the Thursday I caught the train one just one stop on my way to a group meeting in the evening. It still left an itch to scratch so the following day it was back to the original plan and I caught the train so I had a decent 40 minute journey and a chance to mingle with the muggles. So having arrived I hit the high street shops inc Boots the chemist. I'd always wanted to have my foundation matched so that's what I did. Sat in the chair in full view and let the young lady work her magic. I'm glad I did as I'm really pleased with the outcome. Of course there's literally a price to be paid for foundation, application brush and bronzer. However another box ticked.
Found a cafe for lunch and had a lovely sandwich and then proceeded to work my way around the shops. Bought a necklace as a present for my SO and had a pleasant chat with the 2 SA's after they remarked about my nail colour.
Found a top in one store that I felt would be ideal to wear with my leggings but they only went up to a UK 16 and I normally take an18. So I decided to try it on and took it over to the changing rooms where the SA's showed me to a cubicle. It was just a mite too small, shame but no sale there but another box ticked.
Stopped off in Debenham's for a drink and a cake, spent a few minutes chatting to another of the customers before making the return train journey.
Oh and did I mention Wednesday. Perhaps that's another thread.

Helen,
I'm glad you keep getting the chance to take those forward steps, and not one difficult moment thats great .

I tried the Boots colour match back in January , it was the best Sunday morning I'd had in a long time, she came up with wheat for my match and then showed me how to apply it with a brush and then did a powder match, again showing the use of the brush provided. She followed on by acting as my pesonal shopper and took me round the lipstick and eye makeup finally giving me some suggestions on suitable deodorants. I spent about £26.00 and every penny was worth it plus I got my loyalty points and a card , I will never hestitate again to ask for advice, OK there was a bit of sleeve pulling from couples going by and a few puzzled smiles but then I was in drab.
