Several years ago I was with a group of CDers, (one eventually had the gender operation.) We had gotten tickets to a special show that was going to be on on a Sat. They told us the name of the show but it meant nothing to me. I thought it had something to do with race cars (Drag Racing). So I and my GG and straight support friend each bought a ticket.
That Sat we went to the Gay bar and we got there a bit late. The show had already started so we didn't hear the introductions, just the first performer. Luckily we were able to get in. it was SRO. MY Short GG friend had to stand on a banister around our low (6" high) viewing platform to see. I had on my 5" heels and stand 6' barefooted.
After the show my GG friend contacted the club owner and got an interview with the show MC. The Show MC and I got to talk for about 5 min.
That was some 8 years ago. Just last month I saw the Show MC on the TV as a judge on a body paint show.
It was then that I connected the dots. I had met none other than RuPaul after having seen a performance of the road show version of the "RuPaul DQ Drag Races".
Darn I didn't get any photos or anything.
