Girls I need your input, I am what you might call a large girl...6' in stockings about 190lbs and in ech guy mode I wear a 42 coat... What Dresses and Tops will minimize the size of my sholders. I already take any sholder pads out of tops or dresses, that seemed obvious.
Thanks in advance and may all of you stay safe.

Try garments with ragland sleeves. Hubby has same problem. Set in sleeves are too narrow across the shoulders. Ragland sleeves are less constructed. They are "connected" at angle so there is no definite line and give a little more room if needed.Makes it alot easier to reach forward without ripping sleeve seams. Hard to describe - but think baseball jerseys...

Flaunt it. Wear sleeveless and tank-style tops. Hit the gym, make those shoulders worth looking at.

Size is very important here. Wear items that are loose fitting, probably at least a 1X in your case. Also go to a thrift store and buy a variety of tops of various styles, sizes. Even if they are outdated, they are cheap enough to take home a try on in front of a mirror to see which styles/colors work best. If some of them don't work, just re donate them to the same orgnaization, you are helping them out that way also...

Face it girls, we are "generally" going to have some unique body challenges. One day I read an article by a GG asking what to do about big shoulders. The response was wonderful. You are what/who you are. We all will go crazy trying to look like Barbie. Flaunt who you are and what you have. It is okay.
Hog hugs.
(But I still want to be thinner! - how hypocritical)

There are lots of little clothing tricks you can use to help minimize your shoulders:
Avoid square-neck and boat-neck tops - they draw the eyes "outward" and make your chest and shoulders look wider.
Deeper cut necklines help draw the eyes away from the horizontal lines of the shoulder toward the bustline. The vertical lines of v-necks help break these up.
Wear skirts/dresses that emphasize your hips as much as possible. If you have them, wear hip pads too (but don't go overboard). This can be a small change that really affects your look. This is our biggest problem I think - most women have wider hips than shoulders whereas our hips frequently are barely larger than our waists.
Wear longer tops like tunics or fitted/clingy dresses if you can, especially if you have a defined waistline (naturally, corsetted, whatever you can do). Having an unbroken line from the waist to the hips helps the eye see feminine traits and will further minimize the shoulders
Whatever you do, don't slouch! Not only will it make your shoulders actually look bigger, but when people do see you and take notice it will be for all the wrong things. Have confidence in your posture and body language as much as possible.
hope that helps :)
