Anybody else find the desire or need to dress as the weather worsens? Always been the case for me. I find the rainy days, I want to dress. The colder rainy days even more so! It's raining and 0c/32f I'd love to be in something fem. Boots, stockings, slacks, and a warm tight sweater would work just fine.

Emphatically yes !
I must admit, I have a thing...fetish..whatever...about rainwear. I love shiny macs, nylon raincoats and so on either for myself or on others. Bring on the storms

Right on!!!! And the colder, the more clothing and jackets and accessories you need. After all it is about the clothing and the more the better!!!!! Otherwise it would be called CrossUNdressing LOL

You can wear those skirts etc on cold rainy days....I'll take jean or sweatpants and a sweatshirt...LOL I live in New England too cold for this GG to wear dresses. Though Danielle would (if he was "out" in public yet)
Try not to freeze out there :D

This is an interesting topic. There was an article in one of the Toronto newspapers I think last winter that talked about the phe-nom of alot of the trendy downtown women who worked in the fashion district not wanting to wear the big coats, winter boots, and other items to keep warm and cover up. Many of these women are designers and felt that they were the ultimate advertising for their desings. So alot of women down there will wear their non-winter friendly clothing. The women who say hey would rather be dressed great and show off their bodies that they spend hundreds on with gym and trainer than hide under big bulky coats and muk-luks. And I have been downtown before and seen these little 20-something running around with nothing but their fancy clothing in below freezing weather. Seen a few go for a ride in her heels navigating ice on sidewalks. Actually a pretty darn funny site!

Yes, in the cooler months I dress more. Clothing can hide a multitude of sins, big sweaters and tops and longer skirts and pants are my preferred style anyway. The only drawback is I love open shoes, slingback and slides, and they sometimes aren't to useful in the cold.

Kathy and Tammy, I'm all about function over fashion. I understand the GG's needs. I on the other hand, am like Karren. But then again, I have to be confused, because I'm a cd. lol.

Interesting topic indeed. Of course its a lot more fun and just naturally drawing to dress when the weather is cooler or when the weather is slightly depressing. Although, personally I think rainy weather is gorgeous for a multitude of reasons.
Coming from India, winters don't get very cold, while summers can beastly. There is something perversly satisfying about dressing in the heat, especially ethnic and slightly heavy clothing simply because it makes me appreciate women more. As a guy its the easiest thing to pull on pair of shorts or jeans and a light t-shirt, but wearing a bra, even indoors, can create discomfort if the heat is unbearable.
The traditional attire in India is the saree and imagine a lot of material draped on you when the sun is beating down! In other words, it enhances the sense of respect and admiration I have for a lot of women out there who brave the heat in their clothes, either out of choice or from social compulsions!

I agree with you Tammy.
It is less than 20C/68F so I KNOW there is a warmer place.
Snow snow go away....

I prefer to dress in the cold weather because I tend to overheat in the warmer weather- especially when wearing a wig. They really trap in the heat!
Also, the early night fall of the winter gives me a longer evening when I go out for drives.
On the down side, suprisingly, high pumps do not get good traction in the snow. Nearly broke my neck crossing an icy parking lot. Quite a sight to see me trying to catch my balance!

Totally true!
Something about a rainy day makes me want to dress-up.
I thought it was just me.

Yes yes yes ... I could not agree more
After enduring the hottest summer ever up here in Aus ... it has finally started to rain. The temperature has dropped to the mid 20s C and the wind has picked up and it's now quite pleasantly cool ....
At last little beads of perspiration are not going to form all over my makeup and I won't nearly die of heat exhaustion wearing stockings.
I'm in heaven
Ah sigh .........

Quite the opposite. Warm summer breezes make me want to put on the loose rayons. Cold windy weather drives me back to Cuddl-Duds and trousers.

Rainy days are perfect chances to get in quality girl time.
My list of lawn and garden projects etc, seem to never end, so those inclamate days
are great chances to stay inside and dress up without feeling guilty about putting things off
I do love cool sweater weather too :)

Blimey! Is the mid 20's C considered cold where you are? Here in Liverpool mid 20's C is a fine summers day. You lucky people and your nice weather! Although I imagine if it's too hot that could be a real pain. Ah well, I kind of like our crappy weather here in the North West of England...

The weather never figures into my dressing plans. Time is the most important factor but I agree the cooler the weather the easier it is to hide a multiple of body sins. Sophia you have bought up an interesting point.

I was out last night doing some errands in toronto in a below the knee black
skirt and black tights, my legs were ok but my feet were freezing should
of worn boots ,I was out again tonight and wore pants which I hate but
much warmer ,while I was filling my car up it was quite windy and I
thought wearing a skirt would of been interesting ,any way I bought a nice
summer gypsy skirt from sears ,so to answer you question winter is great
for dressing dark nights coats , but summer although you may get noticed
more is nice to

Hehehehehe ... not usually .. but it makes a great change from mid 30s and more of the last few months ... Roll on winter when it'll drop to low 10s during the day and zeros at nite.
But to stay on thread, if it's raining outside, I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doin ( well nearly ;) ) ..... and it does just seem to be the natural thing to do.
Funny that huh?
