Last week, I once again sought out the artistry of my local high-end tattoo artist. Most of my tattoos are underwater creatures stemming from my love of diving.
My latest is my largest tattoo so far. It's an octopus tearing out of my upper chest. He did the outline last week; took about 3 hours to do all the black line work. Color will be done next session...purples and blues. I use the creatures I see for my inspiration, and my favorites become a permanent reminder of the beauty and colors under the sea.
Anyhow, it just hit me that the octopus in an incredible quick-change artist. I have witnessed them go from bright neon greens and blues, to drab and dull in order to camo themselves and blend in with their surroundings. The change is almost instant, and they generally change to match their background.
It made me think how similar I am to that octopus...I can change pretty damn fast when the knob on the front door starts to jiggle...from bright and flashy to dull and drab.

LOL yeah but the octopus also when it gets red watch out. LOL I am a diver also and Try to take a picture of a Barracuda, Yeah I did that one time and he came at my flash and actually hit it so fast and it scared my girlfriend at the time. She said don't do that. LOL Yeah the underwater world is so fine. The octopus is kind of a good analogy.

Very pertinent, prettytoes! :) .

I remember needing those skills when I was a college student living with a housemate. I once dressed immediately after he went out, but he came back having forgot something. It was unlikely he would have knocked on the door to my room ( and he didn't ), but I couldn't take that chance. Octopus mode activated!

I'm extremely out of practice with doing the 'hard reset' because I live alone. Changing clothes would not be a problem, but I got into make up since back then. If the doorbell were to ring, there's no way I would be able to remove the makeup, wash my face and neutralise the perfume in time. I would probably have to ignore the caller :( . If it's evening and my lights are on, I don't have a clue what I'd do. Every time I've needed to answer the door so far, I have been presentable as a man. My luck could run out one day. It's unlikely because my pink fog is relatively infrequent, but it could happen. Scary thought!.

We dabble in diving and have my open water certification. We dove in Cozamel summer before last but now have to dive in our local lake.... I love it also and you have a great analogy of the quick change we have to do sometimes. I live out of town and usually hear someone coming on the dirt road so have time to hide or lock all the doors n turn off the lights or tv and pull the shades. If you do get caught by surprise just get in the shower and turn the water on. Might get everything wet but might save getting caught if your not out to the wife.
