View Full Version : My Las Vegas Travel Log - 4 girl mode days?

Over the summer I kept a travel log (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?240299-Travel-Log-A-long-weekend-in-skirts-and-dresses) that was a bit of fun so I'll do it again but in cold Las Vegas. Yep, it's cold.

I had to meet customers at CES (Consumer Electronics Show), a rather huge trade show where the latest gadgets are shown so I took the opportunity to come a few days early to spend some out and about time in Jen mode. But the way my meetings are stacking up, I think it will be 4 straight days in Jen mode! Thats a first. Not sure I can do it.

So last night I'm packing for my max time possible: 4 nights and 3 days. And naturally, I packed 8 different outfits. 4+3=8 right? Two night time dresses, two day time dresses and four skirt outfits. Add to this the makeup bag, wig, forms, shoes, winter coat, etc., it was one big bag for Jen. My boy bag is 1/3 the size.

I'll be heading out for some window shopping, then a drink and early dinner and some people watching (I'll be looking for cross dressers but I suspect it will be the nor. This is what I'm wearing out tonight. Just a casual black dress that I love, kitten heels and I'll throw on a jean jacket. If you're in town and see me, say hi!
270876

Tomorrow I have a makeover scheduled at noon and I'm thinking of getting a mani/pedi before heading to the outlet mall (I really need some new boots).

Stay tuned!

First time that I was in Vegas it was unseasonably cold! Didn't anticipate needing sweaters.
Have fun and do let us know how you get on.

Looks like a blast! Wish I was in Vegas, I'd hit you up for a drink. I know what you mean about the size of the girl vs boy bag. In dude mode I can get away with a small carry on for a week.
Go over and have a nice romantic walk through the Venetian, it's gorgeous in there.

Wow Jen,

Enjoy yourself in Las Vegas. I have been there a couple times after New Years (but drab), just before CES. So yes, a little cool.

Looking forward to reading your updates. Of course, some pics after your makeover too.

Wish I was there.

Have some biz success too, of course.

Jen 2 good places to find other gurls is badlands salon in the commercial district and flex on Charleston. FLex has a show on Thursday night and I belive Tuesday night. Out with the normals you should be fine but probably not see other gurls. Both of the outlet malls north and south are safe south one is a little more friendly and it is mostly indoors, which is good since it's cold.

OK, back from dinner and I found a wine bar too. The wine bar was in a "cellar" so no people watching but dinner was in the center of the lobby area and nothing but people. My cross dressing was a "so what?" at best. No double takes, no hint of a care. Both my waiters were professional and treated me like any other human.

An interesting side note, there were four aussies sitting two tables away from me. They were having some vibrant debate about what to call "trans" people. They offered up Trans-feminine as a best guess then hit their phones for a quick Google search. Now, what is really funny is that by context, I know they are NOT talking about me! They didn't even notice me which is really the message. Dress for the time, location, event and as always when I go out .... noting happened.

Here's a little tidbit that's new: when I asked to charge to my room, each place asked for my ID and Room number. Each time I gave the waiter my ID I said, "This won't help a lot." No issues.

So tomorrow will be my first makeover an I am really curious what she can do. I'll post a picture when I am still fresh;-) She's coming at noon, so I need a day to night look without being drag. Hope she's good, because I am a rough canvas! And a thank you shout out to Michelle for the contact info.

When I have to pack for just a weekend event I fly to, I have a difficult time staying under the 50 lb. limit. Even filling my carry on, Jenn!
Vegas is easy because I can drive there and take more than I need. Much of which I end up needing!

Have fun. Just too bad you're not there during DLV in March or WildSide in May.

Hey, Jen. You're coming to Las Vegas at a good time. Winter, or what I call 40-60 season, is starting to wind down and the weather is going to be mild and sunny all week. And, this is the most guest friendly town in the world. And there's certainly a never ending parade of outrageous eye candy. Every resort is gorgeous and extremely welcoming to all of our guests. I've been here nearly 12 years and still haven't seen all of the resorts.

Have a good time and enjoy being lovely.

An interesting experience. First, I am taken aback by how little make she used to cover my beard. WAY less than I do. She used liquid foundation and blending ball, that's it. I might have to experiment in the future.

I told Denise what I anted, a "less is more"look that can go from day to night. Then I let her at it. No peeking until she was done. She applied fall eyelashes which was first for me. I doubt I'll ever go to the trouble of doing that myself, but the look is nice.

I asked Denise how common this is for her and she said, "Really common." We are not so unique. Visually, the eyebrows popped for me. Better than I can do but she's a pro. OK, off to the great out doors

Oh, and the makeup artists name is Denise Alvarez (thank you Michelle) she's a freelancer for MAC and she's great. $80 including the false eyelashes. If you want her contact info, message me.

I'll post a boy mode vs girl mode in the photos section later, it's pretty comical.

I agree with you regarding the false eyelashes - they look fantastic but they're kinda tricky to apply (I'm still struggling with them).
And I love what she's done with your eyebrows. Very envious!

While here, I am using Lyft when in Jen mode, which so far all the time. I registered as Jennifer and put up a profile picture so the driver knows who they are picking up (no surprises). Lyft allows Apple Pay so no issue with registering

First driver says cheerily as I enter the car: "Well hello, you're the best looking thing that's gotten into my car today!" Now he may have been hauling cattle
for all I know but it shows how people can swing with strange goings on.

Spent three hours ours at the outlet mall looking for boots and a Moto jacket. No luck. I was offered help at every store just like any normal. Overall, I'd guess I got really looked at 3 times. One time was a 15/16 year old girl looking me up and down with puzzlement on her face. It was cute. Most reactions I saw were a smile when someone recognized that I was a cross dresser. I was wearing a dress and kitten heels and I was one of very few in a skirt or dress but I didn't feel out of place. It was interesting. I think the casualness and length of the dress made it ok.

The second Lyft driver and I chatted the whole way back to the hotel. Just like normals.

Once in the hotel I walked over to an open grille and the hostess says,"I love your dress." To which I thanked her. Now, hotel workers have to do their job so. I didn't expect a "Freak!" When I walked up but she didn't have to be so friendly either. People just go with it.

Well, enough for now. I lost my mascera so I have to remember to buy more

Enjoy. I love Vegas and you look great

I went there in girl mode for a few days about 4 years ago. I Booked my hotel, just off the strip. When I checked in I handed over my credit card and the girl behind the desk told me my husband made the reservation and he needed to be present. Had to fess up I was the husband and show my ID. Bit embarrassing but no problems.

I bought a short green and white floral skirt from the outdoor outlet mall. Good prices

Things don't get going here until late, but I have some early conference calls tomorrow morning so out I go for a quick lap of the mall area and maybe a drink. 8PM local time means it will probably be dead. The make up is holding really well. Fortunately the casinos are always a little dim so I think I can getaway with this outfit.

Goodnight everyone!

... fun in Vegas. Yeah it is a place that us cross-dressers get to a lot and people there are pretty excepting...

I wanted to comment on this as I find Vegas no more or less accepting then anywhere else I have been out. While the strip has the potential for weirdness, at the outlet mall there were a thousand people. I heard a dozen languages which means I was not in "Vegas" I was viewed by individuals from many different countries and cultures. There was not a hint of negativity. In fact, while waiting for my Lyft ride, several groups of young people passed me. None reacted in any way that was other than typical.

...Seeing your courageous and happy outing makes me envious...

Don't be envious. ANYONE can do this. It's not courage, it's just going out. It's no different than in male mode, really. Dress for the time and place and you're cool

Hopefully she made over that Steelers t-shirt too!...

No one can make a Steelers shirt better! It's already perfection.

Jennifer,

Reading this has me so jealous. And you look great! Looking through your pictures, one thing I'd humbly suggest is, if letting your arm hang down keep your elbows in for your pose. If you google image search "little black dress", note how the women in the pictures pose their arms. It could enhance your look a bit.

I'd love to take a trip like this!

Yes, work threw a monkey wrench into my day plans but work pays the bills for Jen time so it was an easy choice.

Off to Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris, hope I can get in. I'mprobably over dressed but...

Walked right on to the terrace. The view and me on the street:

Dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. Expensive but a great view from the terrace and food was delicious. Fortunately(?), a MAC store just down the street so I found my concealer and set spray that the make up person used AND remembered my mascara.

Man MAC stuff is crazy expensive.

All in all, everywhere I went, every ride, every waitperson, the other customers, the MAC sales ladies, everyone was just "normal" with me.

I'm quite envious!

Vegas is such a fun place, I've been there sooo many times, although
I've never dressed while I was there, but still loved every visit.

Mon Ami Gabi is my absolute favorite dinner spot, the view of the Belagio

Did you try the au gratin scallop appetizer? If not... Go back and get some!

Much Love,

Funny Jen, I never liked Las Vegas....until I experienced it as a girl. I have been three times, twice to Diva Las Vegas and planning on my third in March. Last March, I was femme for nearly four days and loved it. I played golf with a couple of girls two days in a row and had a blast. There is something so easy about being out in Las Vegas. I think it partially has to do with the fact so many of us go there but also that we add to the scenery. It is almost as if we enhance the experience for everyone who goes there, even the older couple from the midwest who can tell their friends,"we rode the elevator up to the room and talked with a tranny." I can't wait to go there in March.

Hey Jen, glad you are having a good time. 3 comments.

Las Vegas has this reputation for CDs. But I was there and only saw a handful(other than the drag show) my wife only saw one (me). Either they are REALLY good, or I think it's overblown (well except DLV)

MAC is pricey, but you gotta love it. Especially that setting spray! And I love the smell of their foundation. Part of that mental transformation into Meghan mode.

I may not be the best Bengals fan, but that new Bumblebee/prisoner jersey for the Steelers?. C'mon you're a CD, we KNOW you have better taste than that!

RRRrrrr....I'm so envious of your trip to Las Vegas...and you look absolutely awesome! Way to go in wearing more makeup including false eyelashes! I must be rubbing off on you! Will you admit that girlfriend? :) And expensive cosmetics are worth every penny...my makeup stable is primarily MAC, BECCA, and Urban Decay. This girl insists on the very best...quality over quantity every time!

...Mon Ami Gabi is my absolute favorite dinner spot, the view of the Belagio

Yup. Best seat on the strip. And plenty of heaters during the winter.

Funny Jen, I never liked Las Vegas......., even the older couple from the midwest who can tell their friends,"we rode the elevator up to the room and talked with a tranny."...

I'm not really a "Vegas" kind of person but being in girl mode forces me to slow down which is interesting and makes the "being" there better. Funny story: as I am walking into Mon Ami Gabi for dinner, there is a couple, 65 ish blocking the reservation desk. The husband turns toward me and flat out stares into my face, and I in return. He then steps out of my way and says, "Please." He was in SHOCK! First cross dresser he ever saw, I am sure. And as for CD sightings of mine: 0. It's just not common place.

1) It's overblown, I think
2) The spray rocks. Really surprised by that
3) Love the bumblebee throwback but it's out now that "color rush" was introduced. The NFL is about making money.

Sorry I'm late for the party, Jennifer! I am super jealous. Not only do you get to spend a few days in Vegas enfemme, but you get to go to CES! I've been trying for years to get a friend to get me into the international hardware show. What!? They got a lot of neat gizmos just like CES! If I can leave everyone with one message it's this: Get out of your head. Go out if you want to go out. People just swing with it AS LONG AS you behave like you belong. That means shoulders back, head up, eye contact... confidence. If I can do it, you can do it.

Judith, I just saw tis comment and I actually missed it! I made the mistake of looking at the inventory on line in that store and there was virtually nothing I could wear in a 10 or 12. I guess the Las Vegas store only wants 8's or smaller inside...;-)

LOL! You rock, lady.

I really should have added that this dude was looking at me like I was some weird prehistoric kind of bug or something. So as I was staring at him, he didn't really notice it (my physical presence was just too discombobulating) but once he did, and after I said "excuse me," to get by, he stepped back and offered up sweeping hand showing me the way through (past his ample beer belly). Jen (and ladies), false eyelashes are fun and relatively easy to put on. There are so many varieties, sizes and shapes. They really bring out your eyes, and are not very expensive considering what they do for us. They clean up rather easily with a little TLC, and can be used many times. I have quite a collection, and use them quite often when wanting to be more pretty with my makeup. Try them, and you will like them!

1st off I want to apologize to Jen for hijacking her thread. Had a "Vegas" question and couldn't find answers in other threads and didn't want to start a whole new one. I see a lot of girls here talking about vegas and the dining and shopping and shows and everything. That's all great, but I'm going to be out there for work in a month or so and I'm a gambler. My question is have any of you girls ever had an issue in the casino itself? Especially at the tables? I know they tend to be stricter with the rules on the casino floors so I was wondering if anyone ever got harassed by pit bosses or had trouble showing ID?

Sara Jessica
01-10-2017, 03:25 PM
Actually a good question Micki. I've done table games, mostly blackjack, many times over the last several years with no issue with the casinos. I have had some memorable conversations which I hope stick with those people positively, given how we are often portrayed in the media.
