A week from tomorrow I'm meeting two forum sisters for dinner! I'm so darned excited about it, I'm almost giddy!! It will be the first time for me for dinner in a nice restaurant among the normals. I've been thinking and planning in my mind so much that I'm confusing myself a bit with options. But I will be glammed up.to be sure. I can't wait! I wish it was tomorrow!!!

The excitement sometimes is almost overwhelming. My suggestion is contact the two you are meeting and ask what would be normal attire for the place y'all are meeting. That way you'll know how glammed up to get.
Have a good time though, just wish I could do this sort of thing, so consider yourself lucky.

The greatest fun of dressing feminine for me is all of the planning involved, from the foundations up to the outfit to the makeup to the hair to the scent to the jewelry! It just doesn't get any more fun than that. Go girl!

They are not the "normals". We are part of that. PLEASE believe me (especially since you live in SoCal) you are just a gal out having fun. Nothing more, nothing less. Dress as you feel comfortable, dress as you have dreamed about. Just go out and be a human being, no different than anyone else!

Most of all, good for you and have a great time!!!

Jenny,

Jaylyn's suggestion is for my money a good one. We've all been somewhere that's had someone who's way overdressed for the place or time. I can totally understand the euphoria of having the chance to glam it up but if you're dressed out of place then you'll run the risk of drawing attention to yourself when really it's better to just go unnoticed. Great if you can ignore or feed off the attention but if you can't you run the risk of spoiling what should be a momentous time for you. Sequins and a feather boa can look a bit OTT in a mid market steak house.

Also remember you'll most likely be dressed for some time and if you're not familiar with wearing heels for an extended time just be aware that your feet will start to hurt. In the house is totally different to walking on a pavement or even just sitting at a table for 2-3 hours.

Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful time.

Jaylyn's advice to call the others and figure out what the normal dress "code" is is good advice. You probably won't enjoy being the only woman dressed to the nines when the rest of the crowd is dressed to the threes. Being a little underdressed is better than being overdressed.

Helen's advice about the heels is good advice as well. I wouldn't wear anything I hadn't already worn a few times even if it's just around the house. You don't want any surprises out in public.

BTW: We need photos or it didn't happen.

Jenny,
That dress Sherry is wearing is Fabulous!! Anything even in the ballpark will look great on you, and what a great excuse to go shopping! Dress up and enjoy the company of others. Best advice I can give is to wear "Confidence". It is not something you can purchase at the store, yet is the most important thing to bring with you to dinner. Enjoy the anticipation. You are going to have an amazing time!
