As someone who lives on Vancouver Island in Canada, I have found it difficult to find social meet-up groups that I can join and get myself out there. I know many have done this successfully and I wonder how you did it. What search words did you use. I find either groups that operate as advisories for cdr's struggling with their orientation (which I am not) or I find these dating style sites that are not my cup of tea at all.
I just would like to find a group of cdr's who just get together to talk and have a friendly meet-up now and again.
I read with envy stories of and by such groups on here, particularly south of my border

I was in Victoria last summer and noticed many posters about qmunity.ca Perhaps their website could help you with resources and contacting them may find exactly what you want.

There are two sites I used meet up and Fetlife, one is a straight forward meet up site for anything from politics etc, Fetlife is a way of life website, you may or may not be comfortable with. Be safe and keep searching.

I take the ferry to Victoria from Port Angeles several times a year to surf in Tofino and visit Victoria.
Port Angeles is very accessible from the island. You may want to attend Espirt during May 17th- 21st, held in Port Angeles.
Many people from Vancouver attend. It may lead to your meeting and making new friends.

You may be lucky like me and get contacted by someone on the forum. It took me a while to build up to it , eventually we met in drab for coffee and I gave a tour of my town. We got on fine so I finally plucked up courage and go out to her social group, that was just over a year ago , it's the best thing I ever did .

I believe there is some sort of crossdresser club in Vancouver, Canada - The Cornbury Society.

They might be able to help.
