View Full Version : Worst day ever...

I had a few days to dress and have been enjoying my time to myself....until this morning. While putting my Amolux Diamond forms back in their box I noticed something sticky on the front of one. Upon closer inspection it appears that it has split open.
I am super bummed right now. $$$$$ Worst day ever!! I loved the weight, feel, and bounce they had.
They were a size 6 and fit perfectly into my 40b bras. Now I have to figure out if I should try the size 8 and risk not fitting my current bras.. Ugh!

Yes, a bummer. I'd return them as a faulty product. I know it's a pain, but when you've laid out $$$$, you deserve a sound product. If a 6 feels best, stay with. Look for another brand. I got mine on Amazon. Good luck.

Hi Just me:hugs:, Do you have any idea how it happened, where is the split and how big is it ??
Two things to be careful with are Fingernails and front hook bras.
There is some tape that may help you...:daydreaming:...

Bummer, I have the size 8's and I take a 38/40 C and they fill out the whole cup. I think 8's may be too "big" for a B cup. How old are yours? Where was the split?

Yes how long have you had them?
I have used silicone sealer to repair them so that is one option but let it cure/gas off for at least a week.

Not sure what you call it (transparent film dressing?) but this stuff should fix it:

The reason why I quit buying cheap forms. They ALL eventually pop, leak, or tear.
Solid medical grade silicone forms don't do any of those things! They start at $125 but will outlive u!:heehee:
Google: femskin.com where I get mine!

My sports bra poked a hole in one of mine, I was upset but then just put some KT tape over it and have been wearing it 2 months now with the tape on and no issues. I always wear a bra so having tape on it doesn't affect it's appearance for me. The KT tape is fabric type and really sticky.

Would like some that are self-adhesive to wear bra less. I haven't had much luck with the spray on adhesive. Guess I will do a search here and get some input.
Doc: do the solid ones feel firmer than the liquid-filled ones? Mine are already firm enough.

Have repaired two different sets of forms with superglue along the edges and holding the slit together till the glue was dry. Also, have a set of solid forms from Janet's closet and cannot tell much difference from the semi-liquid filled ones.

Good advice from the Doc. Save your money and get some good quality ones.

These are not cheap forms! They're $300 a set! I have the same forms. They have adhesive backing, and I believe are made in Germany by the same people that make Amoena breast forms for mastectomy patients. I've had, in the past, mastectomy forms and these are every bit as well made.

The split was right in the middle on the bottom going from top-bottom. It is only about an inch long. I have had them at least 3 years. I got them from a member here who had them a year or so as well. I wanted to try them out before throwing down serious money. So they are not new and I did not pay near $300. I stopped by CVS and got some of the transparent bandage mentioned above. Will give it a try. If that doesn't work I will buy new. At $300 these are not cheap, but I think they are worth it.

The clear adhesive tape worked great. Not sure how well it will hold long term. I just looked around the web and it looks like the breast form store has the Amolux Diamond forms on sale $70 off... The best day ever!!!! I may go ahead and grab a size 8. Might have to do some bra shopping too.. :)

Amoena are the best! Mine have taken years of wear with no issues. Kinda pricey but well worth it. 👀

Trans-Cate nailed it. Go to your pharmacy and ask for Transparent, not water resistant, Film Dressing. You can get a box with 8 dressings. The ones I have seen are 2.38 in X 2.74 in.
