This will be post 1000 for me. I don't write long posts or get deep into the conversations here, but I look at almost every post and take allot in each day. I joined awhile back when I was headed on the right path. I am turning 51 this year but when I turned 45 , I realized living a lie is the worst thing you could do regardless of outcome. I came out to the wife and not in a great way. The next two years were not so great but through time, patience, therapy, and self evaluation I am the most comfortable with me ...ever! Today, my clothes hang in the closet, I go out dressed, I am comfortable and work and working on my relationship. I am feeling the best I ever have in my life...I wish I would have learned earlier.

Mostly without each of you I would have missed a part of this journey. I will be here until the end , showing you pictures , commenting and lastly taking your advice. Thank you, I do actually think fondly of each of you.

Thats awesome Trisha, good post!

Life can be good and life can be tough. Most of us get a bit of both as we work our way through it all. I think the lesson most of us learn a little too late, is that life is what we chose to make of it!

In the words of Tolkien's Gandalf: "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Trisha,
I totally agree, I wouldn't have moved forward without the forum, and I certainly wouldn't have met a UK Cder and found the opportunity of going out and meeting others socially ( Thanks again Carole .)

I know my journey will continue and it's good to know the steps can be talked through with like minded people, we can move from one section to another to ask the right questions and read other members experiences .

Hi, Trisha. Even knowing the percentages & how many of us there are in a place as large as the DFW metroplex, it's still cool to know you are so active on the forum & live in the (much larger) neighboring suburb on the other side of the interstate. Congratulations.

I like you don't write long posts, but coming here has been a big help over the past 5 yrs. I too made it to 1K posts but haven't been here as much lately. It sounds like you are making progress and are happy too. Hugs Jaymee

Glad to hear of your successful journey Trisha. Your story is an inspiration to many of us. How lucky we are to have this tool to bring us together from out the the darkness. This place has impacted my life, in helping to accept myself.
