Some days it's just the small things in life. Once I finished the days chores out side I was able to change into Alissa mode. The wife had gone frisbee golfing earlier in the day and was now taking a nap. I like black so I decked myself out with all my best black things as many of them mix and match. As the evening came on I realized it had gotten dark and it was still quite warm out. Now I live in a apartment complex and I am not really out to my neighbors but at this point it was dark enough I didn't care. I stepped out onto the deck and felt the breeze on my freshly shaved nylon covered legs and OMG was it nice. I am on the middle floor so really only one other deck has a upper clear view of mine and it was dark over there. I sat out there for a while just enjoying the moment. Like I said, I am 52 and I am not out to the general public nor have I ever traveled to the city to meet with others like myself. I am still a little chicken I guess although the more years that progress the more I want what I want. 10 years ago I would have hidden behind closed shades, today I am out on my deck not really caring too much. It's a small step, but I loved it. So glad to see spring here in Michigan.

Just thought I would share, be well sisters.

Alissa.

I remember the first time I stepped outside. It was dark, very clear sky and I just wanted to look at the stars. The feeling was intense, the cool breeze on my legs, the wind in my face, the feeling of finally escaping the confines of the house. Though I have now been out many times I still recall clearly that first moment. As Lana said, small steps..

Wow! when you described the breeze on the legs you sent shivers up my spine. I've also spent most of my years indoors, but I'm a few years older then you and have lately taking drives and expressing my fem side, just like yourself. One small step at a time.

I love hearing details like this. I know it's what I want to experience, and it inspires me to head in that direction.

Nice
Being 52 also, but long out of the closet, sitting on my balcony, 4 neighbours can easily see as it's still a couple of hours to sunset.
Sometimes I wish I didn't have a sign written vehicle with the boss's number on it :)

Yea Alissa, I've done small "night" maneuvers if you will...the only trouble is that my house sits right next to every other house. The front doors are not symmetrical so, one door could sit 10 feet from mine...kind of a crap shoot for sure...yard is small with too many eyes on it but to be clear, I do now and then Venture into the night... oh if the neighbors only knew.....

I remember stepping out into our backyard patio dressed in a full length skirt and sweater outfit with wig and full makeup. I loved the feeling of a cool breeze on my shaved legs and the wind blowing through my hair. It was so wonderful!

Alissa, thanks for sharing that moment. You are brave. I hope to have that kind of courage someday. Until then, I keep my doors closed and shades pulled down.

Congrats to you on taking that next small step. All of us here have had to take that first one and I hope that first step will give you the courage to take the next one, whatever that may be.

Thank you for sharing a great story and lesson about how seemingly small things are important and can make a difference!
