Yesterday I noticed something on the closet floor behind my shoe rack (male shoes only!). Thinking it was a pair of socks from a surgery a while back, I reached down and picked it up only to find it was a beige top (same color as the socks).
I smoothed it out to see it had a drapped neckline and a gather to one side at the waist.
Here's the thing, it is a Jacqueline Smith top and my size (read that: not in my wife's size). I have in the past bought some items of Jacqueline's from K-Mart.
This item I don't remember buying, I haven't seen it in my bag where I keep my tops, and I know it wasn't on the floor before because I clean up there frequently.
I know it wasn't in my top bag because I just sorted through there a couple of weeks ago, weeding out a couple I no longer wanted because they no longer fit me.
I am completely baffled, mystified, and perplexed about where it came from. And don't tell me to ask my wife because I don't feel like answering a million questions about why I buy so many items that I can't remember what I bought!
P.S. I also pretty much know what items my wife has.

Hi, Sherrie! May be someone found and was looking at your clothes and dropped that piece. OR maybe when you were cleaning things out it got dropped. Maybe ghosts! LOL It is a mystery as with the missing socks in the laundry! Put it away and try not to dwell on it too long! Hugs Lana Mae

Lana Mae -- a little update. I know I didn't have it before I found it the other day, so .....
And I have tried it on. What a beautiful fit and feeling. Can't wait til Tuesday to pair it with some skirts of different colors.

I'd go with Misstified,

I'm not to dress fully but underdressing is fine!

My wife has put on weight and so has put her size 14 things in my draws and cupboards ( where there is space! ).

Is it possible that your wife has done the same?

So if it fits and feels good, Wear it!

Stacy!

Oh Hon, Don't you realize you have been visited by the seldom seen Tuckerbell the TG sister of Tinkerbell. Like most she was once deep in the fairy closet, but now is more emboldened to visit good little CD/TG's late at night and mischievously flings perfectly sized clothes in hard to find spaces.

Thanks for the laugh Kelly! It was much appreciated on this otherwise dull Monday. I wish I would get visited - maybe I haven't been very good lately

It's a FIND, so enjoy it. One day you may finally remember how you got it. Perhaps a kind SA threw it in as a bonus buy.

I often come across items that have been in the back of a drawer or cupboard for years that I have forgotten. When I find those long lost items it is like a new purchase and a pleasure.

Sherri,

I don't want to be a downer but we are all getting older and suffer from sometimezers to different degree. :heehee:

Sometimezers, sometimes I remember and sometimes I don't.

Call me absent-minded.

Last fall, as winter approached, I thought I would buy a warm, all purpose turtleneck sweater dress (kinda like the one shown below). Of course I was way too late for fall fashions to still be in stock but I looked and looked anyway. About a month later I was sorting through my side of the closet and found the exact dress I spent hours looking for to no avail. It definitely wasn't my wife's and there was no way she bought it for me. It must have been hanging there for two or three or four years. I just had completely forgotten about it.

So far we have Tuckerbell (thanks, Kelly) and a bad memory (thanks, all). I would like to think it's Tuckerbell rather than age-enhanced memory failure. Rather than age-enhanced

No chance your SO intended for you to "find" it? I'm not saying you should ask. Just a thought.

Could your wife have left it for you? Are you completely hidden or DADT? Maybe this was her way to thank you for something you did for her? A birthday gift?
They do change their minds on occasion...
Hugs, Ellen

^this. While I remember almost everything else, I've done plenty of online shopping while a little tipsy, and those orders come in multiple packages, some I get to open right away, others, I find just right before going to work. So some things just get tossed near the other stuff to be put away later. So I've had the same thing happen to me more than once, 'finding' something I didn't remember buying at all. Ah, all the first world problems, forgetting how much stuff I can afford to buy. Now I'm feeling bad for all the poorer crossdressers in the world. Shouldn't there be some kind of way to donate to some type of online used clothing shop for us so stuff we don't use could be purchased cheaply by those who can't afford the 'new' prices? Hmmm. An idea for a business.
