Short 4 days trip to Bonn and Cologne partially in girl mode and lots of firsts for me! First time my backpack carried a(nother) handbag and clothes took up so much more space than i will if i travel as a guy. Didn't have space for makeup so only brought foundation and sponge. I wore a feminine balloon cap instead of a wig for convenience which also will be better since it will be less passable with only foundation. However hindsight is that the balloon cap (with boho style) actually creates more attention and i could see more second glances in my direction. Definitely not totally passable (maybe as a tomboy yes) but it's fine with me.
Visited art museums, cathedrals and of course got the chance to queue the ladies toilet. The museum ticket checker was an elderly lady in her 50s gave me a full visual inspection; face to my toes and back under her thick glasses before allowing me in. I believed i am also being monitored by the staff during my whole visit but who cares; it was fun. I did try to vary my tone when i speak but i am more bassy so definitely outed if i speak, not that i really mind anyway. All in all a fun experience!!
