that national geographic magazine issue about "gender revolution " that showed up in january has been talked about a lot in different venues . I have seen it , but have not really had time to read through it.

I am out to my partner and some of my family . My mom and I have a dadt rule about the topic . I told her about my crossdressing a few years ago . She is "ok" with it , but we just don't really talk about it.
Last week I went to see her and she brought up the magazine . She Said that she was reading it and that she is almost halfway through . I read a little of it while I was at her place .

We Talked in real third person terms about it . She offered to give me the copy she has , but I asked her to continue reading to finish it , and I would take it when she is finished .

She was hosting the holiday weekend , so there were lots of grand kids around . My Mom asked me to make sure the small kids couldn't see the magazine laying around and that I should hide it if I was going to look through it .

This was so interesting to me , that Mom would ask me to hide the magazine so that it wouldn't be seen by all of the kids in the house . not good or bad , just interesting .

Depends on age if you ask me, kids of a certain age should be kids just enjoying life. Then at some point, different for every kid, you can introduce the real part of life. most of it in my home occurred naturally, as the topic arose we spoke about it. Every parent is different and concerns could be huge for some parents....

Is N. Geo still loaded with topless native pics? Maybe that's why she wanted it hidden?:heehee:

I read the articles. You live in New York City? I think the grandkids could give grandma an education when it comes to sexual identity issues.

no, they have joined this era. I didn't think it was a great article. BUT, that was just me. I've known about the issue of the kids. Was not impressed about the story. I guess they want to be relevant since the election.

It's a good issue and a worthwhile read. It is probably better that your Mom reads it first since the information may be more informative to her than you. ;) I wouldn't worry about kids -- if they're not old enough to understand it, they're unlikely to sit down an read it. And I don't recall anything lurid in the issue.
