View Full Version : Women clothing while not crossdressing

Is anyone of you wearing women's clothing while being dressed as a man? I don't mean concealed panties or hosiery, but wearing tight ladies' jeans, or a top, or even shoes.
I have found that I can wear knee boots with 2 1/2" heels on top of jeans along with a turtleneck body top, without getting that odd stare. I even wear some make-up albeit in a neutral manner. All women clothing, but in male mode...
It's lots of fun and, in my opinion, a nice way to go out without much trouble. Well... At least here in Europe in larger cities. I don't know if I would dare to try in Smalltown, TX though...
How about you? Any tip? Any idea?

Thats the way I have been dressing for close to 10 years now.
90% of my everyday clothing is womens ie: jeans ,tops, and shoes.
It's the way I dress and all my friends are used to it so its not an issue.
The public doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

Hi, Jean. Yes, I am typing this in panties, women's jeans and women's shoes which is what I wear out and about! Even here in good old NC! No problems or looks! Hugs Lana Mae

I've worn pullover tops with regular pants and leggings with t shirts.

I've worn women's jeans, a woman's denim top (buttons backwards), a women's belt, panties and pantyhose, and women's shoes. I looked like a man, but I was completely dressed as a woman. No artificial breasts tho. All the items I wore were specifically selected to not be too feminine.

I am in a small town. I almost always wear women's jeans. I frequently wear women's tennis shoes. I sometimes wear women's boots, a couple inch heel but not stiletto. I also have flats and heeled sandals that I wear when out of town but still in male mode.
Once I went to a restaurant while wearing my heeled sandals. I got great service because every waiter came to make sure our meal was fine. In reality they were coming to check out the dude who was wearing women's shoes!

Yes, for sure.
Jeans all the time, all my sneakers are women's and I wear lots of t-shirts I got at Lane Bryant or Dress Barn.
I also wear my mules with my jeans.

As a kid, I wore my older sister's hand me downs practically every day. Underwear (yup, mom felt if no one could see it, it didn't matter), sweatshirts, jeans, socks, sneakers. Stuff no one would usually notice, but I still knew they were girl clothes, and so did the other kids in the neighborhood that knew my sister.

Here in LA everyone wears women's jeans. It's the style. They sell skinny jeans for men but everyone I talk to says they get the women's version because they fit better. They are made for the curves.

JeanDoe, read my thread on this page "By Not Wearing", what you are saying is part of what my thread was about but so many were negative on mine and positive on yours, so glad you got the message across. And as I said I wear something feminine in male mode every day. Hope it catches on and others start doing the same.

Since all my jeans are women's I better wear women's clothes. 90% of all my clothes are fem. Most all my tops are women's. By the way I also wear a bra most of the time. If I don't I still project and have for most of my life. Neighbors don't even blink. Winters I wear women's cashmere sweaters quite often. It is pretty obvious what I'm wearing.
Summers I wear women's golf shorts, sandals, and fitted tees or women's short sleeve blouses. I do wear linen shirts often. The one thing about them is that you have to watch your bra color since they can easily show through with the loose weave.

I always wondered why guys always talked about wearing women's jeans, however after a bit of time observing women's bodies, and legs in particular (for research purposes), I realised that my backside and leg shape was not too much different from the ladies. I picked up a couple of pairs of ladies jeans from my local charity store for, I think $5 each, and I am now converted. The shape is spot on, and given I have short legs, which means most men's jeans are too long in the leg for me, the ladies sizes are the way to go.
Add a plain color t-shirt, which is basically unisex, or a ladies patterned print t-shirt for a bit of style, and some boots and you have a great simple outfit. Perhaps just don't go for the t-shirt print which says "Boy Toy" or something similar. Unless you want to, of course.

Sound advice. But I can't wear anything that shows a lot of leg flesh. I have to many 'Battle scars' from falls and low furniture items. I take over a year for me to get ride of any wound were the skin was broken or bruised. Some of them are so large and dark even heavy black nylons can't hide it. I have started to put heavy foundation cream on them. Oh, how vain we woman can be.

I often wear women's skinny jeans, and tops and sport shoes too. Some days when I am out in "man" mode I realize that everything I am wearing is from the women's department! I often get complements how well I look for my age. My country is actually very accepting of different styles; so much variety of dress here due to so many different ethnic groups and religions.

Dose a skirt an heels count? I don't really care for women's pants as in general I don't like Pants. I will wear a skirt instead of shorts sometimes and even wear heels with it on occasssion.

I have many denim skirts in different colors I wear the most often in male mode. But really any skirt will work. I mean more towards solid colors but thats more of a personal preference.

How does one wear women's clothing without crossdressing? Is there a level one has to reach before it's considered cding?
I always get a chuckle when someone will write I wore this, this and that all while being in guy node, or drab mode etc etc.... I think it's funny how even 80 or 90% of female clothes, but anything short of 100% is "guy mode". I don't really care, not knocking a mixed presentation, but it's a mixed presentation, not male mode....

I tend to be n all or nothing girl... so either I am fully transformed, or I am fully en homme
BUT
Lately I have been experimenting. I have a g string that is definitely a woman's gstring but is blue and has no frills. It might pass muster.
Also I have a pair of cowboy (girl???) boots that whilst dcidedly girly I have often worn en homme with scarce a comment. Although my sister did commnt once...
I also run around the neighborhood every afternoon in woman's yoga pants.
So far so good

As someone who uses the term "guy-mode" in some of my posts here, it's simply to convey that I am *not* trying to come across as a GG -- in terms of hair, make-up, temporary body enhancements (like fake boobs & hip padding), voice, mannerisms, gait, movement, behavior, etc.
Just a dude wearing an outfit consisting entirely of chick clothes.

I've gone out in (low) heels and other girl's shoes a few times, while otherwise dressed in male clothes. Most of those times my jeans were hiding the shoes a bit, though.
I didn't notice any stares nor heard any comments, but I'm sure someone noticed...

A solid coloured hakama (pleated skirt or culotte) with a blazer is my recommendation. Will be eye catching though.

I normally just wear simple attire around the house, No make-up but Mascara (I think I have become addicted to the look of heavy long lashes). I prefer a skirt over slacks. a light pull-over over me and my girls. Yes I even wear m girls. otherwise it's drab me in women's clothing.
Angie G have you ever done a buff on your nails that match the brilliance of polish?

My entire exercise (including sneakers) and "around the house" wardrobe is women's active wear (mostly grays, dark blues and blacks). I change at work and walk on the running track (weather permitting) and then on to the gym. I often stop at the market or drug store on the way home. I also have a Columbia women's fleece jacket that I wear quite often in the Fall, Winter and Spring.

Women's jeans, sneakers and certain tops in male mode nothing overtly fem. In Nikki mode, a skirt or dress, hose make-up and wig. All out or pretty much unisex.

Unless I have to wear a suit for some reason, I'm never 100% male. Even with a suit, I often wear small breast forms.
The stuff I've worn in male mode:
Pantyhose (always, even with shorts)
Women's tops (almost always)
Embroidered jeans (don't have any men's jeans)
Red Nail polish
Nude lipstick
Open-toed flats
Breast forms (the big ones)
Female Jackets and coats
All sorts of jewelry
Tee shirts, of course. Hot pink, of course.
Of course female underwear (don't have any male underwear) with a bra 50% of the time.

I consider myself Transgendered, but for many reasons have chosen to exist at mid-spectrum.
Many of the various terms used to describe it are acceptable to me: duality, integrated, tweener, stealth-mode, mixed, etc, etc.
In fact, this one works too:
I don't really care, not knocking a mixed presentation, but it's a mixed presentation, not male mode....
On any given day, the only item I wear usually purchased on the men's side of the store is a shirt, and I'd happily wear more ladies tops but it's just too hard to find suitably neutral women's tops.
I also (unless I'm gonna be doing something that requires getting dirty or manly man type stuff) am generally wearing some make-up (understated but noticeable to most with a trained eye-like a woman) and my brows are heavily plucked and shaped, double piercings in each ear and with small hoops (or other right of gender neutral offerings), nails (both fingers and feet) are usually salon done and kept long, and now that summer is here, ladies khaki's and gender neutral women's sandals to go with hairless, tanned skin on the entire bod.
All of this keeps me suitably sane; without it? look the F out!

My wife spent a lot of years working in an upscale clothing store (with both womens and mens clothes).
My wife can spot girl jeans or a girl T-shirt at over 100 paces. I'd never get out of the house in mixed mode.
And, she doesn't want to see me in girl mode and she doesn't want the neighbors to see me in girl mode. So, I have to find alternated places to turn into a princess. I have a number of secret (and not so secret) places to change, including bathrooms, and the back seat of my car in one of several little used parking lots or garages. One day, I might just get caught by the police or maybe a bunch of ruffians. I try to be as safe as possible under the circumstances.

Wore a pair of Torrid wedges out to meet my realtor with tan hose and painted toes(don't ask why but I love seeing the color on my toes through my hose) and was otherwise in male mode. My realtor said they were nice but her secretary absolutely grilled me about them in a good way. She loved them and bugged me about where I got them, how much they were and how good they looked on me.

How does one wear women's clothing without crossdressing? Is there a level one has to reach before it's considered cding?
I was scrolling through shocked that no one was asking this question! The very definition of crossdressing is wearing the clothes typical of the opposite sex. It has nothing to do, necessarily, with trying to present as that sex.
My boyfriend's daily style is skinny jeans or short shorts, tees or tanks, frilly socks and pink or purple sneakers. All women's. He likes Mary Janes when he wears skirts and dresses. He works out in women's athletic clothes.
He wears makeup. Concealer, powder, mascara, sometimes a touch of lipstick. And his nails (fingers and toes) are almost always painted, usually in something bright (pink, purple, red, metallic blue, etc.).
He never tries to pass. No wigs, no breast forms, nothing that conceals that he's a man. Even when in a dress... he's a man in a dress.
He says he doesn't have a face that can pass, which may or may not be true. He has delicate features: naturally thin brows, a small mouth with slight lips, and a narrow face. With the right wig and makeup... I don't know. But I like that he's a guy in a dress, so I don't push for more femme.

I guess the current correct term is gender queer for that type of presentation. It changes so often I no longer pay a whole lot of attention.
To me its just cding. Without hrt , ffs very very few can pass on a close up inspection. Most of the time at close range people are quite aware of the actual biological gender. There's a lot of wishful thinking and fantasy around here of passing. Many can carry themselves and present themselves well enough that people may still think of them as a she, even though the bio gender is still known. Thats passing in a way. And for the mixed presentation, people probably have all kinds of varied thoughts. The one they probably don't though is just a guy. And, its all good. In the NB forum someone tossed around mirl. Male girl. That's probably about the best way I've heard for s description of the mixed presentation.

That's how I dress every day. Except when I am at work, men's t shirts there, I refuse to get grease and oil on my good clothes. but I do have several pairs of women's pants that I do wear to work. Other than the t shirts and one pair of shorts, which I wear for fishing I am "dressed' everyday in male mode. One of the ladies commented on a purse I had as a belt pouch and that was just that she liked it.
As for going out with large forms wig and a dress? I haven't built up the courage for that yet. Although recently I have started to wear sandals so my painted toes show. Still working on getting the courage to go to my bright pinks and blues I love though.

Most of the time when I go out I am wearing women's clothes, jeans, polo top, women's sneakers, knee high stockings while in guy mode. So far no problems. Even been to doctor and dental appointments while still wearing knee high stockings and again no problems no issues. I will admit the polo shirt is plain and probably not readily recognized as a woman's polo top but still I know what it is. And yes I am wearing lingerie under the street clothes.

Typically I wear women's jeans or dressier pants, top, knee highs, and women's shoes, though I try to keep it relatively ordinary. Never had anyone remark either when I'm with my wife or alone. Around here (suburb of Vancouver) no one really seems to care, at least in my experience, so I find it easy to dress as I please.

I wear women's Jockey boy shorts every single day! My wife totally approves. I have 50 or more pair of them, mostly in black. However there are red ones, burgundy ones, orange ones, and tan ones. They are the most comfortable underwear I have ever owned and will probably be wearing them for the rest of my life or as long as they manufacture them. I wear a size 7 and the fit perfectly. I wear them under men's dress suits, dress slacks, jeans, shorts, gym wear, etc.
The only time I don't wear them is when I get my girl on as Scarlett. On those fun occasions, I am usually wearing some form of black stretch lace panties or a black lace thong.
TMI probably but I thought this information was pertaining to the topic of the thread.

I haven't owned a pair of mens jeans in over a decade (20+ for underwear). I find in the summer while otherwise presenting as male I can also pull off women's denim shorts, tank tops, and cotton sleeveless tops as long as the color, cut, neckline, etc. is not too feminine. I wear a women's long sleeve flannel shirt that is "boy friend" cut and buttons the direction as a mens, but I have also worn another flannel that buttons the other way. Oh I almost forgot my pair of black women's Ked's, I wear those all the time.

The only article of women's clothing I've worn publicly in male mode so far has been a short-sleeve polo shirt. At home, I've got some super-comfy skinny jeans that I've worn around the family. I've also taken to sleeping in leggings regularly. I haven't yet worn the skinny jeans out (in male mode), mainly because I can't figure out what to do with my wallet and keys! I've got a couple of sweaters and a button-down collared top that I think I can get away with in the fall.

I do. Every day.
In fact my women's clothing is probably about 80% of my wardrobe now. And just like you suggest, all very neutral - Jeans and Slacks, Button down shirts and pull overs, even my glasses and shoes (all flats) - today I have on J-Jill chambray shirt, Chico's t-shirt, NYDJ wide leg pants, and Walking Cradles sandals. My scents are also feminine -- today wearing Fracas (yummy)
On the weekends I have been taking it up a notch or two, and sometimes wearing makeup and shoes that are decidedly more feminine.
I've gotten great compliments from women as well. Last week my Bosses' admin commented that she really loved my sense of fashion.
Go for it....

I'm very much "female" when in "male" mode. I wear some makeup, earrings, women's sneakers, women's shorts, and women's tops which are not all that obvious to most people. As for a tip....do as much as you can get away with and then push the envelope as far as you feel comfortable with.

Women's jeans, plain black hi-cut panties, no-show women's socks is common. I do at times wear women's polo tops, button on the other side. I hope to get a pair of women's sneakers soon too.

I have one top that i think is very 'girly' usually my wife veto's anything thats not quite masculine (she likes her men to look like men) but for some reason she really liked the top, the buttons are on the wrong side for a male top so I always enjoy wearing it.

To me I'm crossdressing all of the time, whether it be one item or ten! Fortunately I can get away with wearing women's sports shoes, t-shirts, scarves and makeup as well. I can only get away with it because I've always worn bright colours and styles!

I always, all day and every day, have a pair of panties decorating my derrière. I also remove my body hair except in the private area, I only use a feminine anti-antiperspirant, and I use clear nail polish. Nobody but my wife has ever commented on my hairless legs.

Hi Jean, it's Scarlett. I wear Jockey female boy's shorts every single day. I wear them for looks and comfort. I have all of their colors but most of them are black. I bet I have more than 50 pairs of these. They last forever and I'll never ever go back to wearing men's underwear from the waist down!

I frequently wear women's dress slacks and tops as well as perfume. I'm wondering if one day a lady at church will recognize that the zipper on my slacks or the buttons on my tops are on the female side rather than the male side and out me, or she may ask me about the perfume I'm wearing.

Out in public, no.
However, I did once.
Some knee-high chunky heeled boots, no more than two inches high with a tiny platform up front, under some jeans.
Just went to use a computer at a local library, then back home.
It is nothing I plan on doing again, just not my thing.
Sometimes people call my plain black Utilikilt a skirt out in public, but technically it is a man's garment (I plan on getting a denim one).

I usually have something on from the women's department every day. I never wear men's underwear anymore, haven't for several years. At least half of my shorts are women's. I hate long shorts and enjoy showing off my shaved legs. Toe nails are always painted and sometimes displayed in public.
Today I'm wearing a Kelly green polo, tan women's hiking shorts (4" inseam), pink lace panties and white Keds knock-offs from Pay Less.
Is that crossdressing? Don't know, doesn't mattter, it's what I'm comfortable in.

I have started purchasing women's polo shirts that I wear in public on occassion. Not only do they button on the other side but they also have more buttons that go down lower so most women would likely recognize this. To date I haven't had anyone comment on me wearing these, but have had a few GGs do a double-take when I'm at the mall. I've also worn women's workout tights at the gym (when out of town vs my local gym) and also like to have on a light perfume at times.

I'm wearing women clothing all the time, but don't consider it crossdressing ... I don't see myself as a man or a woman, but someone in between. Right now, i am in a restaurant in the Netherlands, wearing fushia pink pants, golden sandals showing my pink painted toe nails, a pink Lacy top with a Bordeaux tunic (how do I paste a picture ?). I'm not trying to pass as a woman. Just being myself.

Recently went out in women's jeans, panties, an Ahh Bra, and a men's polo. It was an interesting experience knowing the shirt was the only male clothing. My SO did remark that you could see the outline of the bra in back after sitting in a restaurant booth for a while. All in all a really nice outing.

Although from women's section but fairly neutral in appearance.
Yesterday I had on, jeans, jumper, jacket, boots. Only male clothes was, my tshirt. Yet to find women's tees that fit and looks neutral-ish.
One girl did second glance at my shoes but otherwise no one seemed to have noticed anything :)

I recently got a W's lightweight capilene tank top from Patagonia and I'm stoked on the fit and feel. Its tight enough, but has lots of stretch. It would be mistaken for a beater under my shirt and it has enough length for me to tuck it in. I'm gonna try to check out some more of these capilene tees. Merino also, maybe? I have had a capilene long sleeve lightweight base layer that is still like new and I've had it for 14 years or so and used the crap out of it as a 4 season base layer. My wife gave me a CK pocket tee that fits well but is just a tad on the short side.

I have hardly worn anything but skirts for the last 3 years. (on the bottom) Mens stuff for tops, t shirts mostly. Shoes are mens, though I have some ladies shoes, but can't quite make it work in my head. The skirts are mostly simple nylon hiking skirts, but also some denim stuff, usually around knee length, though have gone a few inches either way. As the weather cools off, I mix in some wool skirts, and opaque or patterned stockings or thigh highs. I am working retail, so I am in constant contact with the public. It is common for people to not recognize the skirts (at first) but even when I pick up on a sudden recognition, they hardly ever say anything. When they do, the responses are overwhelmingly positive. Very, very, few negative comments. Strangely, the confidence I have gained from being able to wear them has given me a more masculine sense of myself.
I always wear to work ladies jeans , some women shirts even they are longer from the back , and sometimes women formal trousers ( elegant ) socks , panty hoses sometimes with undies and bras with no bulging , clear nail polish on the hands and colorful on the feet , and light lipsticks that does not show too much ,,,,,this is a normal daily ritual ....never leave home without it ,,,or else I will feel uncomfertable ...

I think I have asked this before, but how does one wear women's clothing without crossdressing? I understand that we may not be presenting in a fully female mode, but is there a specific line in the sand where it becomes CDing? These threads always give me a bit of a chuckle. Nothing wrong with it, it just gives me a chuckle.

I think I have asked this before, but how does one wear women's clothing without crossdressing?
I guess it's really the intent that makes it crossdressing.
If you are wearing woman's clothes because that's all that was available. Say you are poor, homeless, or lost everything in a fire, then it would not be crossdressing.

Has nothing to do with intent.
It has to do with simply wearing something that's designed for, marketed to, and (typically :heehee: ) worn by the opposite sex.
Cross-dressing is the act of wearing items of clothing and other accoutrements commonly associated with the opposite sex within a particular society. Cross-dressing has been used for purposes of disguise, comfort, and self-discovery in modern times and throughout history.
Almost every human society throughout history has had expected norms for each gender relating to style, color, or type of clothing they are expected to wear, and likewise most societies have had a set of guidelines, views or even laws defining what type of clothing is appropriate for each gender.
The term cross-dressing denotes an action or a behavior without attributing or implying any specific causes for that behavior. It is often assumed that the connotation is directly correlated with behaviors of transgender identity or sexual, fetishist, and homosexual behavior, but the term itself does not imply any motives and is not synonymous to one's gender identity.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-dressing
I've seen enough examples of, "Well, it's not *really* crossdressing, because..."
Yeah, anyone & everyone can play that game. Ain't flyin' with me, sistah! :D
The last sentence from above is why some people seem to feel the need to try to make excuses...
"It is often assumed that the connotation is directly correlated with behaviors of transgender identity or sexual, fetishist, and homosexual behavior..."
It's just a word. People need to get over it.

Technically wearing any clothing of the opposite sex is cross dressing. I can get away with wearing women's jeans and women's T-shirts in male mode, but in my view I'm still cross dressing.

I wear panties out of preference daily and often wear women's boot cut jeans, with either knee highs or pantyhose instead of socks (at least 40 den and opaque, which is too my liking) when out and about... Occasionally, I will wear ladies tops, but, only when I am able to wear a sweatshirt over the top (I am only out to my wife). Around the house and garden I am usually fully dressed, although do have emergency clothing available should I need to answer the door...

Not lately, but have worn women's jeans, primarily GV's with the swan on the front pocket. Rebook princess aerobic shoes with teal and purple spiral shoelaces in them. Sometimes I'd go with a pink or white tanktop with an oversize ladies white or pink shirt to colour contrast. I like shirts that are not toooo femme, but button up the "wrong" way. During the summer, I also wear those Nike shorts that all the college girls are wearing these days. When I go to ride horses, I dress all femme for that. Really, really tight breeches, (even have a pink pair), womens' tall boots which actually fit since I have skinny legs and narrow feet, and ladies technical shirts in different colours that half-zip up the front.

Sometimes I like to wear panties and pantyhose under my drab. But due to the line of work I am in, it makes it uncomfortable due to heat, wearing steel toe boots and working in varied body positions. Some days I can and some I cannot.

I have a pair of womens jeans that I wear regularly. Even my wife doesn't realise that they are womens. I cut out the size label, so she's not likely to find out, either. The zip is sewn in "left handed" which catches me out sometimes, but nobody else appears to have noticed.
Years ago, I used to wear fairly close fitting stretch jeans that were sold as "unisex", although the size label had womens sizing on them, so I guess they were really womens but were cut generously enough at the front to fit men without crushing the family jewels.
Having said that, men and women alike wear jeans and some womens jeans seem to be cut the same as mens anyway.
I have worn womens jumpers before though, but again, you could consider them to have been a fairly unisex design.

I never present female. Whenever I have an CD outing, I am wearing all women's clothes including a dress or skirt. People never tend to acknowledge my outfit. I am just a man my age doing what a man my age might do, but while dressed pretty. I used to notice people reacting by telling their friends to look and sometimes giggling. Later, people seemed to glance at my outfit once, and then behave professionally and ignore it. More recently, most people do not even glance down. I cannot imagine that they aren't noticing the dude in a skirt, but they do not seem to care enough to look.
most of my jeans and shirts I wear are women ,,can pass without being noticed ....it is lovely to feel you are out wearing all women dress ...
