View Full Version : My SO is silly.....

As with almost every Sunday morning, I am fully dressed. I am wearing a very pretty purple blouse, purple leggings and a pair of 5" purple peep toed heels. Just lounging around the house and relaxing for a change. As I sat here I decided to take some laundry down to the basement. One, it needs washing, but two, to put some mileage on these heels.
So I head downstairs to the first floor and no sooner do I hit the kitchen, there is My SO....
SO: "good, I need your help"
Me: ok
SO: I need you to kill that spider up in the corner
Me: I can't reach that corner
SO: where are your BIG heels at?
Me: Big heels? these are 5" heels, I only have a inch higher.
SO: Don't you have higher heels than that?
Me: have you seen me buy higher than 6" heels?
SO: Hold on, I got it
She runs off to the closet and comes back with a ladder
SO: here you go, be careful
Me: really?
SO: Your a big girl now, you can do it
So very carefully, up the ladder I go to kill a spider. While I am on the ladder she is making comments
SO: Those are super cute heels, I love how your cute toes poke out, they look tight though. You should probably wear them more often to stretch them a bit.
I am wobbling a bit because I have never climbed a ladder in 5" heels before and off comes an ear ring, she leaves the ladder and goes for the ear ring like it was extremely important in that moment in time instead of holding the ladder. Luckily I made no sudden moves lol
Spider dead, ear ring back on the clip and ear, and to the basement I go. I just thought it was a bit strange and worth a share. She has never been NOT comfortable with my dressing but this shows how comfortable she is too.
Anyone else that is out to their SO ever have them take advantage of your being dressed or such?

Cute story, Joanne. And, I'm jealous of your accepting SO. She seems a peach.
But, the story sounds more made up than real life. Why not use a broom or mop on the spider? Heels and a ladder? Isn't that like using a sledge hammer to kill a mosquito?

Uh yeah, She always puts a trash bag by the door and I have to take it out. LOL But on bugs yeah I have to do it. Doesn't matter if I am dressed or not. Pretty good story though Joanne. But I do have a pair of really high heels and I can get up into the corners.

Great story, Joanne. I'll be grinning for a while now, picturing that image of you on the ladder and your wife commenting on your shoes.

Great story Joanne. Well told! Seems like your SO has a playful spirit! Always nice in my opinion.
No, I've never been taken advantage of in that particularly way. There was never a ladder involved

Not made up at all Doc lol she does things like this to me all the time, never with a ladder though lol. The spider in question was really wedged in a corner, in a nest, above the cabinet that is there and that is where we keep all of the cereal. The moment she told me where it was I thought about using a broom or duster but I didn't think they would get in the corner at all or if they did, they would probably knock the spider down into a cereal box or something lol To which at that point i would have had to pulled out the cabinet and spend a lot of my "dressed and relaxing" time trying to find out where exactly that spider went because she would have never let it rest until she saw the body lol
Dana, I take the trash out the back door all the time dressed or not, at first i use to look around to see who was out, now i just do it and don't care.
Lauren, I would most definitely put a "Kids, don't try this at home" warning label on the ladder but it was simple enough. I only went up three rungs, I wasn't trying to be queen kong and climb to the top of the ladder lol

I am always amazed when I here about a SO who is so accepting. She obviously is very confident in her own femininty that she sees no challenges that other women seem to have. You are very lucky.

Joanne,
your adventure put a big smile on my face. In our house, it would have been me on the ladder sans heels, since I rarely wear them, going after the Wriggly, Jiggly, spider.
My sweetie would have been holding the ladder giving directions, and looking lovely in her heels.
I can say that I have never asked her to take care of a spider or the trash for that matter when she is dressed.
Love the word play between the two of you. Your SO seems to have a great sense of humor and that is always a good thing.

Yeah, she's messing with you. Oh in heels? Let's see, what would be difficult to do in heels!
That's ok, a little messing with you is ok. In fact I see it as a good sign.

Wow, that story is teeming with acceptance, fun and playfulness. Happy for you :)
Hi Joanne,
What a great post & what an amazing SO you have.
If the heels in question were like the ones on your avatar, then yes, they are really nice.
btw i'm seriously impressed that you went up a ladder (unsupported!) in 5" heels, i wouldn't wanna risk that!!
Nic :)

Funny that we XYs are still the ones who are charged with spider duty, regardless of what we are wearing.
For me, I catch them and let them out in the bushes.
I can't kill them. They have a purpose. You will thank me in mosquito season.
(and Buddhism, but that is just a personal thing) My family still freaks out over *SPIDERS*
Eek! You almost lost an earring!

I try never to kill anything unless it is dangerous. A wasp has to be very aggressive before I will kill it. Snakes, spiders, etc. all the same.

That little thing might be you or I in the next life. Wasps? I have yet to find a purpose for wasps.
All those white, anglo saxon protestants, buzzing around my face...
Oh yah, the bugs. BEES without remorse or regret. What ecological purpose do they serve? I really want to know.

Your SO sounds like a keeper and a keeper if not only for her playing with you but her acceptance . A good sense of humor while being dressed is an exceptional quality in a wife or SO. Fun reading story.
Some wasps are predators to other insects but, by and large a great annoyance. One of the places I frequent has many such nests so, It pays to know not only one type from another (some are quite aggressive, some really not if left alone) one must "know thy enemy". I hate to run if I absolutely don't have to...We have a few ground dwelling wasps, just don't step on them and you are good to go! Here is your Entomology lesson for the day

Joanne,
That was wonderful, I get the same thing at my house. " There is a bug you have to kill it !" Except I don't have five inch heels, and I use a ranged weapon, Nerf guns...

I have taught my SO to use household weaponry..vacuum w/hose extension, baseball glove, and an "insect vacuum" battery powered bug-sucker one can get on the internet...just it is I, who have to clean out the little carcasses...

That is a cute story and a great wife. My wife is OK with my dressing, but I'm not allowed on ladders, dressed or not. Fell 34'off a ladder two years ago while putting up XMAS lights.

My GF just uses all my things and shows me things i need/she wants. I got her a spider vacuum years ago and we had 2 tarantulas. She's over it now.

A water glass and a bit of cardboard...
Put the glass over Madame spider, slide the cardboard over the top, then go out to the yard.
Simple. This works, even for scary ones like the variety of orb spider that lives in my house.

Joanne,
I can say that I have never asked her to take care of a spider or the trash for that matter when she is dressed.
Thanks Paige :D She's never asked for the trash to go out, I do that on my own ;) baby steps to moving out into the world at large. I love the quick feel of the wind and unless we plan a day "out" that is the only way I get it. the spiders though? she's scared silly about them. I'd rather let them live but she'll have no part of it.

Nic, they aren't the ones in my avatar but they are really close. Just a basic peep toed pump. Climbing a few rungs wasn't all that dangerous, it's just knowing where the heel needs to go. It really wasn't that big of a ladder, more like a step ladder thingy. Just enough to get me to the crawler lol
I can't kill them. They have a purpose.

I prefer not to kill them, they fight alot of bugs that you don't want to have crawling around your house. I have always seen spiders as a good sign that there is nothing else in here with us. The ear ring is a clip on and tends to fell off whenever it chooses lol I saw where it landed ;) I am hoping to get my ears pierced some day. My SO isn't against it but Where I work i, so for now, clip ons.
Great story I can relate. My wife will have me get stuff off the high shelves if I'm in heels.
She's done that many times too lol I actually had her once, and only once, say "I need that mixing bowl in the cupboard above the fridge, go get your heels on" lol it's actually the reason we have that step ladder so she can reach things. she's short. I always tell her get your heels on and get it lol

When our house gets messy, or there's too much washing up, my SO will proclaim "Where's that maid at".
That's my instruction to get dressed and set about my duties.

I'm pretty new to the openness of dressing in front of my SO but a few nights ago she asked if she could do my makeup. I had never done it and was interested so I let her. When she finished she had me get dressed then asked if I would go down the street to the gas station and get her something to drink. I was not comfortable with leaving the house dressed yet (makeup or no makeup haha) so I just continually shook my head and sat on the couch pulling my weight down so she couldn't pull me up. She remarked "you know just cause you're wearing panties now doesn't mean you get to act like a little girl now!" I just stared at her and said "WOWWWWW!!! Did you really just go there!" And we burst out laughing.
She didn't get what she wanted that time... but she sure tried haha.

I was sent into a shop dressed to buy some pads for the wife, she had a sprained ankle.
I came out with the SA's suggestion, she said the tampons would be more suitable as the pads were not available. :-)

My feet are large enough that the heel can't touch the ladder step very easily. Only the sole of the shoe is on the step. I go up stairs the same way. That way I don't have to worry about what would happen if the heel missed while putting weight on it. I just never put weight on it when going up stairs.
It wouldn't be very lady like to tumble down the stairs, would it?

I love when My SO makes reference to Joanne :D Having an SO who has no hang ups about any of this and actually enjoys shopping, going out with and all sorts of things, truly is a blessing. The only thing that limits me is me.

lol that is truly great lol It takes a bit to get comfortable to be dressed in front of Your SO. I still find it awkward from time to time. I guess it depends on what I am wearing. Personally I wouldn't have gone to the store either. I am just not to that point with all of this. My SO has said "I didn't check the mail today and only one of us is dressed" but that hasn't had me walking to the mail box even if it is in the middle of the night. Living in a townhouse community, someone is ALWAYS out or watching. In our last apartment, I would have been out the door. Thanks for sharing :D
