View Full Version : If you could really be you

There was a post a few days ago about society adapting a unisex dress code and it got me thinking.
I'm going through a phase where I'm re-evaluating where I'm going with this whole dressing thing. Maybe it's age or I'm still pushing my boundaries.
For the most part I've been happy to keep my male and femme side separate. When I'm Nikki I prefer to dress the part completely for the occasion. Lately I wish that I could blend both sides more. I know I can't due to my job and other considerations.
I wake up in the morning and wish that I could keep my nails fully polished all the time, wear whatever jewelry that I wanted, wear a skirt or a dress, or if in the mood man's shirt and pants and maybe some minimal makeup. I'd wear a bra no forms (gyno or fat, I have enough to work a C cup at least). Otherwise no wig and just be accepted as me. Considering I'm about 6 ft and 240-250 lbs I know I won't pass as a female but I'm not so sure that is what I want.
I for myself now dress all out, in today's society it is easier to blend being one or the other. Being in between is really noticeable.
If you're still reading this thanks. My question is. If you could, and society was accepting, how would you present? I'm wondering how many of us would go mixed mode or all the way.

Even if there was a unisex kind of dress code I'm pretty sure I'd still be drawn to the more femme side of it. I just love my skirts and dresses, trousers-pants don't do it for me at all.

This will be a "No Romper Zone".
If you're going to dress feminine or effeminate, just go all the way and do it right.
But the Romper thing? Probably not in my wardrobe.

On an androgynous person like me. That is where the non-binary come in and many times I wear woman jeans or shorts and ladies tennis shoes and even a blouse that looks either way we are out and about. Yet, when I am fem there is no non binary appearance, I go all the way fem and love it.

I would go femme right away.

Dana44 I also wear women's jeans and shorts now, no bling on them but I like how they fit.
Ilene I thought that rompers are a bit silly, but they do look awfully comfortable and cool and in the right print who knows. Women in general have shorter torsos so I know most onesies are just not long enough.
I do have some blouses and tops that I would love to integrate into my everyday wardrobe. Some I already do, if somebody notices they button "wrong" so be it (and oh yes some women do spot it right away, they won't come out and say it, but when I wear them I do get "complements" on the color or pattern).

Nope, my male and female mindsets are totally separate. For me to mix the two would be unnatural. And, probably would reflect some sort of confusion.

I went out shopping fully en femme today, and also had a nice lunch at a full-service restaurant. To me, the world seems fully accepting, and my preferred mode of presentation is fully en femme. (I can't really speak for anyone else.)

If everyone in society was accepting and I had no anxiety of what family members and friends and whatnot thought of me as women, I'd do it straight away without even thinking about it. I love dressing up as Ellie as I feel alive once I have. Nothing makes me feel better than dressing up like a lady.

I would look funny as a person with a Mustache wearing a dress or a skirt.
If society said I could wear a skit, You could bet I would be the first one on
the block that would be wearing one.

I would go female all the way. I really love the style and variety of women's clothes. Male attire is boring to me but the idea of mixing dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, etc really excites me. I would still wear pants once in a while to but even there I love the variety of women's trousers, culottes, capris, skinnies, leggings, etc. Lets not even get into shoes and boots!!

I hate wearing a wig, and I shaved my mustache years ago. What a freedom it would be to be able to wear a skirt or a sundress on a hot summers day. Lets not even get into the variety of sandals or ballet flats.

I would rather have all sides of me summed up in the whole self. I have male and female features within me and have come to realize that I need all of this to be me.

I would gladly go for a walk around the block any time with you. A good pair of walking shoes, skirt and hose, lingerie under a guy shirt. I will wear a hat to keep the sun off of my balding head. Sadly most people don't see it the way we do.

I wish the same thing too. Like Ellie said if society was accepting and I didn't have anxiety about family and friends and everything I would present as a women. Just maybe not skirts and dresses all the time, I like jeans because they hug the hips and can give that feminine curvy look that I would kill to have :D

I can present however I wish on any given day. Girl one day guy the next or a mix of both on another day.
Society seems OK with me for the most part,no tranny police out to get me.
Don't get mad when I say this but you can wear whatever you want.
Using the job and other considerations excuse is a common thing around here when people are uneasy to make that step.

If I had absolute freedom, female more than male! I retain the right to dress male as I see fit! Too many problems with logistics right now! Sigh! :( Hugs Lana Mae

I would present as female, in every aspect of my life.

I dress all the way one or the other.
I have gone past the androgynous look, although as a male I wear female pants and tops a lot.

Nikki, I've found myself thinking about this lately, I would love blending more clothes and makeup in male mode. I'm like why not. I do love being in full fem but I just enjoy being me and if that's makeup and a skirt but no wig it would be great
unfortunately I just am not sure folks are ready for that
