 I just bought a power Fusion razor and let me tell you I just threw away my Mach 3 turbo that I loved!

I have tried out many and I mean many good razors and I hated to yet buy a razor that cost about $10 w/1 blade and the refills cost about $14 for 4 but I took the plunge and I have to say WOW!!!! it is the best shave I have ever had. It never bit me once and didn't drag and pull my face.

All hail.......The Fusion!!

Congrats on the VFM purchase Beth! Sounds like close shaves are going to get a whole new definition then?;)

Aside, who manufactures Fusion and where might one be able to procure it? My handicap is that I'm from India.

It is a Gillette Fusion. I bought mine at Wal-Mart. I don't know if China has invaded India yet;) but, if you have a Wal-Mart there you they will have it.

Hi Beth

I got the Powered Fushion too, it's without a doubt the best razor I've ever used, and I really loved my Mach 3. No drag or irritation at all, just a close, smooth shave.

Hummm, I'll have to try one out. I have a Mach 3 and it has nicked me a few times.

For Sonia's benefit (and that of anyone else not from the U.S.) I think what Beth is joking about is that a large proportion of the the items carried by WalMart seem to be manufactured in China.

Thanks for the tip, Beth!

Yes, I just got a Fusion, too. The battery powered model. Finally a razor that allows me to shave up, above the lip, without bleeding.

Too pricey for me at my income level, when what I would gain by the expenditure compared to using a more generic but fresh new razor would be a few hours without beard shadow or an extra day without shaving legs. Although Aileen's comment gives me pause, the upper lip is indeed the one spot on my person that seems never to be comfortable being shaved really close in the "against the growth" direction.

Notch me up an income bracket or two, and I'm a buyer in a minute ;)

When I first saw the fusion ad during the Superbowl, I though how ridiculus. 5 blades, how about 10! As a young shaver I had the typical 2 blade, got me an electric norelco with the triple heads. I used that for a years, but decided to try the old micro screen instead. I went to Target and paid over a hundred dollars for this on. Either you buy cheap and often or expensive and hope they last long. The micro was ok, the triple head I believe did a better job of getting in deep. When I had my big moment to shave for a theater event, I bought a ladies non electric and liked the results. Then I bought the fusion and OMG what awesome results. I usually let my stuble grow since I hate shaving the face (oddly, I enjoy shaving my legs and armpits more). But this sucker, took everything off in only a few strokes. I had to take short little swipes at first and then make longer strokes for the clean up pass. It took me only a few minutes compared to 15 with an electric. Sure the heads are expensive, and I recommend using shaving cream, but once you try it - you'll love "or your money back" as the man once said. Well I gotta go shave, bye.

Hmm, guess I'll have to get one of these, with all these good reviews.

When driving (a truck for a living) I sometimes can't take a shower everyday, and so have been using a Braun electric on those days that I have to shave in the truck, and a Mach3 battery on the other days. The Mach3 is great, IMHO, but I do find that alternating between the blade and the electric does seem to cut down on the irritation, as well as giving me a "passable" shave each day. (I have had quite a bit of electrolysis, but not enough to be able to bypass shaving.)

This is not the only forum that I have heard praises for the Fusion, however (the others are non CD), so I guess it really must be that good!

Wife got me a Fusion a week or so after they came out. Mine is not the power one but it is the best shave I have ever got, even on my chest.

Bound to be, I always use a "less than perfect" blade on those areas anyway.

Missy: I shaved the underarms with the fusion and saw no difference from the ladies 3 blade. I haven't used it on the legs sinceI'm going on vacation in a state that has longer durations of heat as opposed to Minnesota (oh wait, it just turned 42 - oh now its back down to 13) I don't want to explain to my GI Joe brother why my legs are shaved although he has to shave his entire body before going to Iraq.

Side note, I hear that it is recommended that all soldiers shave themselves completely for hygiene purposes while in the desert. Seems like a novel idea and suddenly GI's and CD's have something more in common.

This is an expensive razor, not so much the razor as much as the blades. But you don't have to use it everyday, You can use it only when you are going to go out dressed. With that in mind, it is quite affordable.

I bought the powered one and I must say that it is without doubt, the closest and most comfortable shave I have ever had, and without a nik one.

I will say this however, even after I finished shaving with the fusion, I still had to go back over my face with my braun elec razor to get a few spots smooth.
