So I was at a hobby shop in Nashua, and saw another sister, fully dressed. I was in drab. The store owner was accommodating to her, but it was a pretty short conversation. I loved her presentation, clothing, makeup, etc. I wish I had the courage to be out like she was. I wanted to say hello and talk, but respected her privacy. Maybe she is a member here.

I always wonder what to say when that happens. Usually theye pass well the only reason I can read them is my dragdar. Maybe an adams apple or something else that only we would notice.
It probably wasn't me you saw, but I do spend a lot of time in Nashua (15 minutes away) so if you ever see me feel free to say hello. For other folks, though, the general wisdom of this site is don't approach them uninvited. ;)

No one can resist an unsolicited compliment. Just tell her "Your dress is fantastic". (Or shoes or whatever) Then leave it at that, without trying to start a conversation. The recipient can choose how she wishes to respond, either with a conversation or a "Thank you" that plainly says "I don't want to talk". This is something you can do this with any CD or GG.

While I fully understand and appreciate respecting the privacy of others, it still strikes me as rather sad that we can't at least acknowledge one of our own. Providing of course, that we are sure that we have actually encountered a sister.

Stating a conversation with a compliment is the easiest approuch to "break the ice" and not offend. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Timing is everything and a friendly smile works wonders.

I don't shop for bras and panties much these days in drab, nor do I shop for trains in a hobby shop dressed, either.
It just seems out of place to me these days.
The girl shopping may have been trying to test her limits, mine is not getting a bra fitting in drab.
Yes, I have been there and done that.
I will shop in the barn and buy garden materials dressed though.

Yes I agree ,we should be able to approach each other and at least say hi or something. Maybe we need a special code word or hand sign or have a symbol on the back of our car like a high heel sticker to signal other sisters.
