I was so disappointed to see videos of the L.A pride event because it was laced with lots of #resist people.
It seems the LGBT has been infected by by a faction of the resist movement.
The resist movement made the womens march on Washington a joke in the eyes of the public. Just watch you tube its so sad.
Resist dug its self into the Antifa and turning things into violence in the streets.
They got into Occupy wall street several years ago and caused so much destruction and hate.
They are like a bacteria that feeds off a host and by feeding off the LGBT I fear they will make Pride nothing more than a political BS session and will set back gay and trans issues 10 years or more.
Resist doesn't care about who they feed off of and they could care less who they destroy in the process.
If I see them at Pride locally I will leave and never go again and I will stop supporting anything LGBT.
My gay rant is over I feel the LGBT doesn't really care anymore.

Counterpoint here. I was personally at Pride LA and went to many events over three days. Not sure what videos you watched, but they clearly were not telling the real story and were most likely edited to push an agenda.
What I saw was an incredible community of diverse and positive people. As a genderfluid person en femme, I found complete and total acceptance there. It was a wonderful event, and everyone in our local crowd of trans/genderfluid/queer/crossdress/everything else had an amazing time.
I agree that there are groups looking to set back gay and trans issues by 10 years or more. They'd love to set back womens rights while they're at it too. But it's not the resist people doing it. Take a quick look around the news and you'll see who it is.

Hell-o Traci
Resist will show up at any news worthy event that they'll get publicity.
The fact that they chose an LGBT event should mean something, even if
it did draw attention away from what the event was actually about.
Chin up girlfriend!

Last year I went to pride and had a great time there were a few resist people(anti Trump) there but maybe 3 or 4 and they stayed to themselves and were causing no problems.
At the womens march here locally OMG it was absolutely horrible women screaming obscenities at cars passing by F this F that and honestly very disgusting and doing nothing for womens rights people walking past were crossing the street just to stay away from them and yes the resist people were running the march.
I was going to go but when I drove by and got yelled at and called names I decided it wasn't safe for a tranny to be there.
I hate the idea of the LGBT getting used like this.

These are some difficult times we are living in. It's sad but what can we do as a community?

Traci, I was at the DC pride parade where I expected to see a lot of political demonstration. While I saw some individuals with resist t-shirts on I did not see any marchers or floats that where plainly anti-trump or part of the resist movement. Mostly it was people celebrating who they are and having the freedom to so. Very positive. While my fiancee an I go every year, we stayed longer than normal as we waited for her youngest daughter to walk by, she was near the end of the parade.

Agreed, the overall tone of the pride parade was extremely friendly and inclusive here.
And that said, Tracii, anyone who self-identifies as a "tranny" has reason to be concerned with the current political climate. Both the Religious Freedom and the States Rights movements, with respect to the LBGT community, are explicitly designed to limit our freedoms. Getting cursed at by protesting women is one thing, but if you want to feel really unsafe as a tranny, try attending a parade that isn't the Pride parade. LGBT folks have been fighting for years to be included in the St. Patrick's day parade.. even ones who are transgender decorated veterans. You can bet that spectating there will not be looked upon kindly by many people.
Tracii -- sorry you find your political ox gored, but some of us are OK with Resist.

I'm a member of the public and did not find it to be a joke. In fact, the song that came out of it, I Can't Keep Quiet, was pretty inspirational to me. Again, sorry you feel bad about it, I know how it feels -- I felt bad when transgender guidance to schools was revoked -- we each have our politics, I guess.

Same here. I found it to be really inspirational overall, and it's timely. The Women's March movement isn't that coherent, but nothing is in this day and age.
Women are sadly underrepresented in government and their health care rights are under active attack. And the now-famous declaration "you can grab em by the p***y" isn't helping either.
Even the toughest guy who only cares for men's rights should take a moment and think about how that phrase applies to their wife. Their mother. Their daughter. It's no surprise why all of these movements are resisting.

Eva, well said. I agree wholeheartedly, and tend to think that to believe otherwise is a political statement of its own.
By the way, hello from another SoCal CD'er.

Every one in the country needs to lose the hate and start working together! Right, Left, Republicans, Democrats, Socialists, Communists, Everyone! Christian, Jew, Athiest, Muslim, Everyone! This never stopped being a great country until all the hate came along! It is time to drop the hate and have people live their lives, just like we all would like it to be! IMHO Hugs Lana Mae

I'm sorry, but I'm appalled at so many comments here. I could go on, but there is no point in joining a discussion that seems only able to generate heat instead of light.

Sorry some folks feather's got a tad ruffled. Open your minds. Heat can indeed produce Light!
Traci G and Lana Mae have it right, IMO. We have been expressing our observations of how our attempts as CDers, TG's, etc. to gain acceptance are being derailed by certain political agendas. Left and Right, OK?
This morning's shooting at Congressmen is the latest example of how hate has taken over many's mindset.
I would rather hug my CD/TG friends and discuss philosophical differences over a glass of fine wine, or a beer, than fight. Or run away from the problem that the topic is just to hot.

The point I was trying to convey is politics has no place in a Pride event it only divides people and causes trouble.
I don't care for either party to be honest and some people just can't let it go and have to hate people over differences of opinions.
We are all different and will never agree on everything so let it go and be nice to each other.
I feel all the work I have done to get accepted by reg cis people is being threatened by activists with an agenda that has nothing to do with gay rights or the LGBT.
Thats just how I feel so at this point I don't care, so all you activists scream and yell all you want and make fools of yourselves and enjoy being used by a group that has no business anywhere near a Pride celebration.
Kim you are more than welcome to comment. What is so appalling to you about the comments?
We all have our opinions so please explain why you feel that way.
Just so you know Kim I am TG and gay and supported the LGBT for many years.

Actually politics have no place on this forum
"The following content is NOT allowed ANYWHERE on the forum and will be deleted. Politics, with the exception of TG rights in the Media Section"
and since I see this as heading in that direction, it's clsoed
