View Full Version : What is the Frilliest Thing you have ever worn ? And how did it make you feel

Robbiegirl

And can something be too frillly for you ?

For me it was my older sisters pink babydoll nightie from the late 60s. It even had silky bloomers with ruffles. LOL It felt amazing and so girly but was so frilly that I thought it was more comical than real.

I like feminine dresses and slips but there is aline at least for me

I once hired, (but never took back.....naughty) a Cinderella dress from a fancy dress shop. Floor length with tierred frills all the way down, big puffy sleeves. It looked a lot better in the shop than it did on me and I wore it once. (this was about 1995ish and can't remember why I didn't take it back)

A GG friend gave me some VS panties lots of lace on them and quite pretty but to wear them ?? its not happening way too uncomfy.
I do have a baby doll nightie but its not uber frilly.
I know some of you have a thing for frilly because you say it makes you feel feminine and thats fine.
I don't need frilly to feel that way.

Oh lord, just look in my vintage lingerie closet and pick something! I think my favorite is a double sheer nylon pink open robe with pintucks and a huge pussybow tie at the neck. Yeah, I'm a bit of sissy sometimes! Looks much better on my wife though.

Define, "Frilly", Robbie? I wore this to a DLV event in Vegas a few years ago. But, u may consider it more of a nightie than frilly?:daydreaming:

I know some of you have a thing for frilly because you say it makes you feel feminine and thats fine.

My early days dressing consisted of pilfering my mom's "special" lingerie drawer. It was filled with all manner of frilly feminine finery that I don't think she wore past child bearing years. Those first impressions hold strong and to this day I simply can't pass when I see a special item for sale on Ebay or Etsy! I just took delivery of a gorgeous pink Henson Kickernick pajama set in a rare size 40, so utlra fem! However, as I've matured and started figuring out where I fit on the gender continuum, I find my taste in feminine apparel to have matured as well to a more androgynous look. Still, there are days when I just want to get completely pinked out and be a sissy. Most likely part fetish and part reliving my childhood. Either way, it is what it is and sometimes frilly just makes me happy! I've quit trying to figure it out and just enjoy where I'm at in the moment!

I had a boyfriend who liked to buy me presents, and one of those was a pair of sky blue with yellow polka dot panties with a lacey fringe in a complementary off-white color. They were cute and kicky rather than sexy, and looked nice in the package. I modeled them to please him, but found that they were not very comfortable, bits sticking out every which way, and that's the only time I ever wore them. I'm pretty sure I gave them away in my last purge, which occurred almost ten years ago. The same fellow gave me some bangles and bracelets and earrings, too, and I still have them in my jewelry box, which was not purged.

Robbie,
I think the frilliest item I've worn was my GFs babydoll nightie set, the baby blue one had so many layers , not the thing to wear when you want a good night's sleep . I also bought her a set in black, she caught me wearing that one, after that we shared them , I'm saying no more !!

Oh wow, I guess the two peignoir sets I owned back in the early 60s. Very expensive and very feminine. Along the way I've had silk slips and beautiful nylon or satin slips. Matching lingerie sets of bra, panty, girdle, and slip in various colors.

Kind of a toss up between the two dresses I have used in the past in my avatar pics. Either the white with purple trim or the all white one,

[QUOTE=alwayshave;4120045]I love full slips and satin nightgowns which are frilly.

I have to agree with the full slips. In my collection of vintage full slips I have an assortment of different color slips that are double layered. From under the bust to the hem are two layers of very soft nylon. The top layer has lace at the hem. In addition to the usual white, black and beige I have them in red, pink, aqua, green and yellow. The feel of them is very very sensual. No matter if I wear any of them for bed time or day wear I wear a coordinating nylon panty. If it comes down to just plain frilly then it's a white full slip that has white tulle attached over the nylon skirt of the slip. It's terrific for poofing out a dress with a full skirt.

I think the brand I was wearing was Vanity Fair but not sure. What I am talking bout is a luscious pink peignoir set, robe and panties. It felt so great wearing it. It was very silky, semi see through and had a delicious amount of lace. Alas, I wore it so much it began to disintegrate and I eventually disposed of it. Haven't ever seen anything like it since.

Wow Carla #18 that's a brilliant dress, IMHO nothing can be too pink or frilly, I loved the two avatar pics from sometimes_miss #16 as well.

I would probably be into "frilly" more than I am now IF I could find things in my size. With a 52-inch chest, my options are very limited. Having said that, the frilliest thing I own and wear on a semi-regular basis is a Tosca peignoir set. The gown has little form... sort of like a loose fitting tube with spaghettis straps at the top with a sheer overlay layer. The robe has about double the amount of sheer chiffon as one would think necessary and of course, tons of lace. The whole set is in wedding white. To top it off, I sometimes add some white lacy panties and maybe even some white lace thightops. I'd be all set if I could find some frilly white slippers to complete the outfit! :)

Lacy PJs

PS. Someone mentioned searching Ebay for vintage lingerie. True, that is a source but be prepared to pay dearly. I've seen sets similar to the one I have go for well over $150.

I have a number of tutus that are quite frilly. Nothing can quite compare to the sensation of a tutu skirt again your nylon-covered thighs as you twirl and leap. I also have a gothic lolita dress with tons of lace and ribbons and a giant skirt that with the right petticoats sticks out a foot in all directions. It's all in black though, so some might not think it frilly, but it is ultra-girly.

I have a number of tutus that are quite frilly.

If I were tiny & petite, ballet costumes would certainly be a part of my wardrobe. Nothing is more feminine to me than the petite ballet dancer in a satin basic with a full, classic tutu. But Mother Nature has pretty much ruled that one out for this large frame.

Ressie, don't we all feel that way at one time or another? I would guess that most teddies aren't long enough for the average height male. If it was long enough, it would probably be way too full everywhere else.

I often thought an interesting thread might be, "What would you buy/wear "IF" you could get it in your size?"

Gift-surprises from my wife include: frilly/lacey camisole, panties, full and half slips, petti-panties, underwire bra, sheer, lacey black nightie with matching sheer panties and lacey top gartered nylon stockings. A feel fabulous. Not many frilly tops, skirts, dresses, etc. being frilly underneath is good enough. (smile)

I wore a muted pink strapless quinceaƱera dress / ball gown with a massive six hoop skirt underneath. The top and bottom of the bodice was embellished with pink / white roses. Other flowers were scattered throughout the dress. It also came with a matching purse and shawl. It was too small so I told the SA I would see if I could get it out of my head over the next month while she contacted her seamstress friend (she has done some amazing work on many of my dresses (especially adding a corset)) to see if it could be enlarged to my size and if a larger shawl could be constructed to fit my big man arms. Once I found out it was possible, I purchased the dress. With no timeline to finish the alterations, I will not get it back until later next month but both ladies want me to wear it to the park for a photo shoot. I do have some pictures of it but, unfortunately, I am in them.

Presently I have nothing in my stash that I would consider 'Frilly' I do have 3 tops that are very sheer and you can see everything under them. Haven't yet found the right thing to wear under them. They were given to me by Dark AnGGel.
Now a few times I have worn some 100 yard Crinolines that I had sew for my wife and younger daughter. but that was before I installed and tightened up the waist Elastic. I put a draw string in the waist band so I could pull the elastic through.

A 100 yard Crinoline has three outer tiered, 3 inner tiers, and a half 'full circle' slip. The outer edge of each tier is either given a hankie rolled edge or is pipped. (That is 100 yards of pipping) My machine allows me to cut my own strips of cloth, usually scraps from the skirt material that are feed into the pipping foot.

"Frilly"?...I'd have to say a babydoll nightie my wife gave me shortly after we got married. It had huge lace and chiffon butter-fly sleeves, a high Victorian collar that was also chiffon but edged in a 2" lace cuff, 2" lace hem around the bottom (that almost covered my rear) and matching pantie-cover that was similarly laced at the waist and leg openings. Thats what I think of for "frilly". Feminine?...my wedding dress...

I think frilly can also be linked to pretty I have got a short sleeved black blouse with a lace fringe under and slightly below the hem as well as the same lace at the back of my neck, frilly? yes in its detail, pretty? very and I enjoy wearing it on those warm days.

I've noticed a bit of a trend here in that many of the items described as "frilly" are either lingerie items such as slips or panties or sleepwear as in long gowns and baby doll nighties. Sadly half of this equation seems to be going away as frilly sleepwear is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. Even in the lingerie category, cotton knits are making inroads to the point where satin, nylon, lace and other embellishments are slowly but surely disappearing.

It's a sad day in the neighborhood...

I love frillies ! I started dressing when I used to plead with my GF to wear black stockings in the bedroom. She would always say "You wear them". One day I said that I would but they wouldn't fit me. The next weekend, she presented me with a Victoria's secret bag with super sexy basque, panties and stockings. I was so turned on but was not allowed to do anything until she put makeup on my. Rhumba panties. I haven't worn them for a long time... maybe a little silly?

The last pair of those that I sewed was in 1997. I made them for my wife to wear under a Square Dance Skirt I made for her.
I tried them on BEFORE I put the elastic in them. At the time I weighed in at 200 lb. They were very snug then. After I put the elastic in there was absolutely no way I could get them on without busting all lengths o elastic. I had sewn in elastic into each row of frills to make sure they fitted her.
When My wife passed away, I gave away over 30 Outfits, and my matching man's shirts. Now my sewing machine is gone too.

Just stumbled upon this thread and had to reply.. For me it's the frillier the better! I have a collection of 6 or 7 ballet tutus that I just love to wear. I think my wife thinks I'm a little nuts but she knows it makes me happy and lets me wear them around the house pretty much whenever I want. It seems the older I get I want things that are more frilly and feminine. Ebay has really helped in my tutu search, there are several sellers offering them even in my size, 2X-3X at fairly reasonable prices, the only thing keeping me from buying more is finding room to keep them.

I feel perfectly normal wearing these dresses. No thrills, no excitement, nothing like that at all.

I have never really had anything frilly but I have been looking for a very overtly frilly dress lately, you seem to have the perfect outfit in the photo and your avatar, hopefully I can find something very similat here in the UK because I love them.

I would have to say a wedding dress was the most feminine, frilly item I ever wore. I'd love to own one, but I'm too practical (cheap) to buy something that I would never wear out.

This one reminds me of the dress I sewed for my wife in 1996. She wore it in the Alabama State Convention.
I had beaded the American flag and fireworks onto the net over-skirt.

On our wedding night my wife put me into a very frilly babydoll nightie.
Very lacy.
Very sheer.
Very pink.

I felt like a million bucks!

My mother had the most FEMININE, pretty pale blue full slip you could ever imagine. The slip had 6 tiers of lacy ruffles up from the hem and the prettiest lacy pattern on the cups.
When she was young, my mom was a Babe, having such pretty clothes, dresses, skirts and of course Lingerie. By the time I was born she had given up on all her "Babe"
attitudes.
I remember sneaking into her dresser @ 5 to try on a lacy half slip (I thought that it just might fit me!--it did, sort of!) Anyway has time went on, she got fatter and totally unfeminine, disgusting in fact!
SO I found that all of her pretty, Feminine, Pastel foundations she wore in the 40's, were now open for me to feel pretty in, in the 60's.
Sorry about going on so long, but when I would let that Beautiful lacy full slip work it's way down my arms, down to my hips and caress my Lovely Blue Panty Girdle I would feel a wonderful, Girlish, exciting Thrill getting Girly bumps all over.:rose2:

Years ago my dad and my aunt owned a house together to take care of my grandparents. I had the whole basement to myself. Well there was a closet space under the stairs and my aunt stored some of her old clothes down there. She and I at the time were about the same size. She had her old wedding dress down there and I tried it on and it fit. I enjoyed the feel of it. I also would wear some of her other clothes that were there at the time. I had photos from the neck down, but they were on my old female Facebook account. I wish I saved them somewhere else.

A few years after we were married I was putting clothes in the attic when I came across my wife's wedding dress. I was able to fit into it and I felt just like a bride. It was such a thrill to feel so feminine. I never even hinted that I had tried on her dress.

A new challenger approaches for my frilliest thing ever! I need to do a proper shoot in this at some point, but wearing it with my poofiest petticoat. Such a fun sissy dress!

Prolly this. I call it the Little Pink Riding Hood ensemble aka Pink Fog Generator lol.
I just like the feminine feel and look with the ribbons and stockings.

Yes, on occasion, I will sew my own outfits.
Presently working on a peasant blouse and pleated school skirt. Using my own patterns.
All my sewing came to a halt when my 40+ year old sewing machine broke. Awaiting a part from Singer.

I liked my mother's 1938 Commercial grade Phalf better, but my sister got it and then later sold it because it was to big and heavy for her.

I have a French maid outfit...actually my wife and I have matching ones. A nice short petti and some ruffle-butt panties and it's ready to go. I feel plenty girly while wearing it (and especially lucky when my wife matches me).

And then the princess dresses. The first two were essentially store bought: one of the light blue Cinderella-variety, the other a yellow Belle-knock off. Not that I was trying to attempt the characters, I just thought they were so very pretty and...foofy, I guess. Paired with a proper five-hoop underskirt (and matching tiaras for the outfits) and voila: instant frills and femme. Of course I feel like a princess in either

But the crowning achievement so far came in the mail for my birthday next week, my first custom-made princessy dress!! All in blue, teal, and silver with lovely cap sleeves, and it fits absolutely perfect!! As for how it feels to wear it, I'll have to let you know after next week. :battingeyelashes:
