Girl's floor!

So in my office, the girls get excited when all the guys go out to lunch because they get a moment free of testosterone that they charmingly call "girls floor". When I came back and opened the door, they all groaned (in good fun) and said girls floor was over. Im at least comfortable saying that I can actually be kind of feminine in my own way at times, but it took some effort to keep my trap shut when they offered to paint my nails so they could maintain girl floor status. These moments seem to crop up all the time!

Go for a clear base coat on those fingers! That would work for both the girls and you while not directly outting you to the boys. There are ways to make that work!

How sweet! Now I have a crappy job, but one of the best things I have done is let one wonderful young lady I work with in on my secret. She is an artist and jewelry maker, so I felt comfortable doing so. Now I have some one to share my stories with during an otherwise mind-numbing day and she shows me different pieces she is working on and I made her promise to make me a matching necklace and earring set! I'd go with a pale pink polish...... You never cease to make me smile, Ellie.

Some years ago I worked in a shop with an all female staff, I was officially made 'one of the girls' (though I couldn't tell anyone just how much that meant to me). We went on nights out often, no subject was off limits when they were talking, even if I was in earshot, they sometimes referred to me as their 'agony uncle'. I do miss those times so.
